Without root, you can't. The best you can do is revoke it's administration rights in menu/settings/security

Use a file explorer like root explorer, navigate to system/apps (I'm not 100 sure this is the correct folder) and just simply delete the apk. Reboot if you want and you're done. Or use an app manager like titanium backup and find the app and delete it.

mcafee support
Im new to the forum but have been following for a while. I contacted mcafee support and received an email from them asking for my email associated with the account, my imei number, the phone number associated with the account and a buddy number of which i sent the info and received a pin number from them. I then went to apps within settings, clicked on mcafee security and then clicked on manage storage. It then asked for a pin which i put in and low and behold afer about 3 minutes it now gives me the option to force stop and uninstall updates.
Hope this is helpful to others that do not wish to root their phones.
Just freeze it in titanium along with 1000 other bloatwares that would get rid of all the lag and eat up half your battery. Seriously recommend you to root.
Root, then install an app called App Master, has the ability to remove system and user apps, I removed a tonne including hangouts, maps and all the others, macafee etc.
/system/priv-app
I think the app is named LG-Mcafee.apk or something like this (got rid of it long time ago). Delete the apk and you're done. Obviously root required as well as file manager like Root Explorer.
removed easily on G2 without root
Removed administration rights of mcafee, then restarted phone, went to apps in settings Ang uninstall it.
No root needed.

The Gift from Mcafee security app
In my country, Thailand, the Mcafee in LG G3 is not just app for virus protection but it acts virus alike. Mcafee will send SMS through mobile phone network provider automatically 2-3 times everyday since first time mobile phone activated. I was shocked from billing of oversea SMS from Thailand to America sent by Mcafee almost 50 times within 2 months without any notification or acceptable reaction from me. I had to stop all SMS sending function from my phone number to anywhere both domestic and oversea. only receiving SMS allowed. This was a special thing powered by Mcafee security app in LG G3 for loss phone protection. Thanks LG.
i have a zva variant from sprint and its actually blocked by the servers policy. it removed my admin privileges. sorry for my bad english

Hey everyone,
Just got a New LG G3 and post a factory reset the device is asking for a McAfee PIN which was never setup. Is there anyway to skip this and move onto the homescreen? This screen has locked the device and no options work except the emergency call option.
Attached is a screenshot of the same.

Thats not going to work as its a lock which shows up before even setting up the phone if you do a factory reset. Spoke to support at Mcafee too who also could not fix it.

Reflash the stock firmware for your device
Sent from my SM-N900P using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
Get a new phone. Something is wrong. I wonder what LG thought McAfee should give in user plus. You have to root to get rid of it, clever thinking
This is what happens if a half baked feature incorporated into a released device(I say it is half baked, it never should ask for a pin if the pin is not at all set at the first place & McAfee should have a solution to this problem). This is the 3rd or 4th thread that is opened on this issue, within last few days. Hopefully, McAfee or LG quickly find a solution for this, so that users don't suffer.
To OP, as some one suggested please try to flash the stock firmware(if it is possible).
Revoking administration privileges was the first thing I did when I got this phone.

Tried to talk to different representatives from Mcafee and they could not find a solution but anyway I have got this solved by going to the app and resetting it before the lock could show up. Will be writing down later on the complete procedure.
Thanks to everyone for contributing.

u cannot root this device when its lock by mcafee because of kill switch. so u have to think smart.
try to go to setting, in setting> guest> set a code for guest after it turn on guest option. than restart your device, before comming mcafee put the petern as guest... after this u have to go again in administration, at that time u will see mcafee will not come, and u can easily goto the mcafee app, after going on set your number as a buddy number, after setting buddy number, turn your phone off, insert sim and start it again. macafee will again apear... at that time click on send the code to buddy, proceed it.
this code will be applicable for an hour, so if u got the buddy code, after geting pin code u have to change the pic code to new one... after doing this procedure mcafee pin will be change.. and u can use this device
hope you got my point,:good: you dont need to root your device

Hi,
The main point of his workaround was to successfully open mcafee app.
why?
- because it has a feature where you can add buddy numbers.
- buddy numbers can be used to retrieve the unknown pin (not the actual pin but a temporary one which you can use to get past the pin log-in screen) through sending temporary pins to the buddy list.
- mcafee will ask for a new pin combination after the pin requirement screen.
P.S As long as you can open mcafee app, you are fine. I also don't have any workaround aside from what the OP posted.
yes . go to guest mode and turn screen off an on again put admin lock pin and go to mcafee app and set up buddy number @mDaynal you are great

After I upgraded my LG G3 to 5.0 I decided to downgrade it back down to 4.4.2 because 5.0 was crashing randomly. After I got 4.4.2 installed back onto the phone, McAfee shows up automatically and wants a PIN. I never made one.
I can't factory reset the device, it tells me the kill switch is disabled. Also, USB download mode is also disabled by McAfee. I'm at a loss, what do I do?
I've tried 123456 and 000000 as some other members have tried, but they don't work.

Kill Switch Disabled / Black Screen After Factory Data Reset
I just had this problem too; after Factory Data Reset ("FDR") from the "Settings" menu, I went thru setup, opened my Google Backup, watched my Apps reinstalling, then ended up with a black screen showing only the status indicators at the top, and the "Back" arrow at the bottom.
After trying hardware FDS a couple of times, I got a message saying "....Kill Switch Disabled" and then the black screen again.
It turned out that I had installed McAfee antivirus on my phone, including a feature (Kill Switch) which would prevent anyone who got hold of my phone from wiping it and re-selling it for someone else to use.
Once I realized this, all I had to do was log in to my McAfee for Android account from my computer and disable that setting. I don't remember the details of doing so, but it was fairly self-evident once I realized what was happening.
Good Luck

While old, this is probably still relevant - I came here via a search, and found this to be the only way to resolve the McAfee lock. I was trying to downgrade an LG G3 D855 phone so that I could root it, and flashed a file that was supposed to be a stock ROM, D85510A_00.kdz, the oldest KitKat file for this phone. Big mistake, it had NcAfee installed and locked the phone. My McAfee was registered to an email address, and the only way to unlock it was to log on to "my" McAfee account, or have an email sent to this address. McAfee tech support had a very supportive attitude, but couldn't do anything as they didn't have the email address registered. They didn't know their own product too well, suggesting that if I managed to start in Safe Mode I could remove the McAfee app. Not so. Recovery and download modes reported that they had been disabled by the "kill switch". There was nothing I, or McAfee could do.
I came to this thread; the fundamental fact I learnt is that repeated rebooting eventually got the phone started without locking. It didn't work very well, presumably with McAfee using system resources as it tried to lock; it wasn't possible to install anything from the play store ("downloading" for 5 minutes or so until I gave up), and programs worked slowly and not very well with McAfee active and trying to do its thing.
The exact procedure listed here didn't work for me, but once I knew I could get into the phone by repeated restarting I could try anything; anyone reasonably familiar with Android should be able to cope with whatever the system throws up. I first installed Towelroot 3.0, which rooted the phone without needing a reboot I installed files by writing the .apks to the SD card on a computer. I installed the System 2 task manager, Titanium Backup application, and SuperSU at various times. I also installed Total Commander, my preferred file manager, though the built-in one might have been enough. The first thing to do to stop McAfee from undoing everything, once rooted to provide access to its file /system/priv-app/LGMcAfee.MobileSecurity.apk, was to stop the process with System2. (Until then I had done various things, but later found that McAfee had managed to undo them and resuscitate itself on next reboot.) After stopping the process, I deleted McAfee with Titanium Backup. That's the essential unlocking bit. I also installed the TWRP app and used it to flash the TWRP recovery. So I had a phone working well, rooted, with the earliest release of KitKat. Booting in factory reset mode and ignoring the warnings that everything will be deleted starts TWRP in the way I've been used to, and allowed me to restore a backup of the phone (or install a custom ROM).
[When repeatedly rebooting until McAfee doesn't kill, find something not very taxing to do, e.g. watch a video., so the time is not entirely wasted.]
[Added later]: instead of repeated rebooting, it's been suggested that if you manage to go to Settings > General after the boot process has finished but before McAfee has loaded (about 5"), McAfee will not fully start and you can do the root, terminate, remove process. As before the phone will be sluggish and not work properly, and the Play Store will not work, until McAfee is terminated. Put .apks on an SD card, or use a browser to download them from the phone.
[emoji106][emoji106]?[emoji106]?
Great example of perseverance and not giving up. I probably would've. [emoji37][emoji36]
Kudos.

If you're on Lollipop:
Hold down on the notification and get the info. Make sure it's unchecked (Could be a different app sending that one).
If it's already unchecked:
Go to your settings and find "Notification Manager". Enter this and hit "App notifications". Find the app that sent the above notification and tap on it. Now you can adjust it and set priorities and whatnot. For this, block notifications from it.
This may block notifications for system updates as well, but you can still check it manually. Plus, system updates don't happen very often so not seeing it won't really matter.
EDIT: Misunderstood what you meant... I underlined what to do in your case.
Edit 2: I'm running a custom ROM and that's how I would do it in my case. I failed to remember that the stock ROM may not have added these features, so you can also do this (for sure) but going to your settings and hitting apps, then scrolling over to all. Find the app manager (or whatever app uses the same icon as the one sending you the notifications) and click on it. Now you can uncheck the displaying of notifications from it.

Read that^^^
Also, unchecking notifications from "Google Service Framework" may remove notifications for these type of updates.
If you are rooted and already have SuperSU you can download Titanium backup and uninstall any app from your phone. BE CAREFUL BECAUSE SOME APPS ARE IMPORTANT. Also, make sure you backup the file before removing it via titanium (backup through titanium backup) in case you for some reason need it back. This may or may not remove the prompt to update the app, but way back when (if I remember correctly) it did for me.

Glad to hear it! If you ever have any more questions feel free to PM me.
Also, I would highly recommend you try out a free app called "LG Tweaks Box". It'll make your phone feel so much better and have tons of customization!
I'm not sure if this even/still applies but when I was on KitKat (LG G3 2GB) I rooted my device then used either Root Explorer or ES File Explorer File Manager and looked in the data\op folder on device and deleted anything I didn't want (mainly anything carrier related which was all of the H3G_COM folder (30 items) as it was a 3 UK handset) then reflashed firmware and wiped device and I have never had any apps forced on me since, i've even disabled auto restore of apps from Google Play on first sign in so I can be choose what I wanted installed at each reflash/wipe.
Back up the OP folder first as It is handy for later if ever needed
Again not sure if this even/still applies
Hope that helps

Try installing them then using titanium backup to remove them completely including all files.
Sent from XDA app via my LG G3 D851.
I have a D851 on T-mobile 6.0 stock.
I don't see Android Pay in the app list and Play Store has 'install' instead of 'upgrade' button.
I want to touch-to-send, but every time I tap the phone to another phone, the Android Pay app pops up and asks me to set it up.
This is really annoying? Where is this app and why is it hidden?
Anyone else see this?
Thanks.

That's the thing. It doesn't show up in apps list. So there is no way to start it or know it is there until you tap it against another NFC device. Doesn't matter whether it is a payment terminal, just another phone and it will pop up. Are you on Android 6.0 T-mobile stock? Try tapping it on another NFC device.
This is my wife's phone, so I don't want to root it. Any other choice? Seems weird that they would install an app that has a user interface for managing credit cards and not have it show up until tapped on another device.

Did some more experimenting and found that Android Pay is also there on a Moto X with Android 6.0 even after the Android Pay app was uninstalled, so it is built into the system. The only difference is Android Pay does not pop up on the Moto X when placed against another NFC device.
Also figured out that the Android Pay can be configured through the Google settings page when the Android Pay app is not installed.
U can try factory reseting backup ur data in pc ...then all programs will be shown in default
Did you find a solution? I have the same problem with a LG Volt. I removed Android Pay as device administrator and uninstalled it. It doesn't show up in the list of apps, yet it keep popping up whenever I try to use NFC.
Try clearing Google Play Services cache
Go to Settings:App Manager:Google Play Services
Press Clear Cache
Reset phone
That's what finally worked for me.
Having a constant "Security Notice" on phone since rooting. Everything else works fine. Is there anyway I can maybe deactivate this function?

to get rid of the security notice you will get(because the system is now rooted) simply install root explorer(or any root browser) and go to /system/app and delete securitylogagent or go into the folder and rename it adding .bkp to the end of the file name and reboot.

I began getting this, too, after rooting my Note7. I solved it the way others suggested, with Titanium Backup by freezing the Security Log Agent. That worked for me.

do you still have knox? i use samsung pay and security folder
You used the sprint method root at the N930V PHE or PH1? Not really related to thread, but just out of curiosity.
Same problem....
I'm having this same problem with my rooted note 7.
I've searched everywhere for securityagent on my note 7 and it's not there. The only way I can remove this threat found/restart device, is to remove device maintenance.
But then I lose the app done function and the advanced setting power saving mode.
I have disabled all knox and security realated apps.
But still still get the threat while device maintenance is there.
Does anyone know what the equivalent to securitylogagent is on a note 7 ????
Any help would be much appreciated, I am a noob, until 3 days ago I knew nothing, but I managed to unlock frp and root my note 7, but its been stressfull. I need help now...thanks.

You should have a package named SecurityLogAgent. Disabling this will stop the security notifications due to rooting. If you're referring to the Samsung messages regarding the recall, then you need to disable the Samsung Push service or just the notifications.

I'm not referring to them notifications, I have disabled Samsung push.
There is no package with the name 'securitylogagent' on my note 7.
I have researched this alot before joining and posting here. Its simply not there, no matter what I use to look for it. Just not there..
I would really like device maintenance back.. that's how iv got it disabled at the moment.
I am referring to the 'that found/restart device" warning that flags up in device maintenance.

Strange, there should be a folder at system/app/SecurityLogAgent
What firmware version are you on? What have you used to look for it?
I'm on 6.0.1, that I rooted on Sunday after I accidentally updated package disabler. I am a complete noob and have managed to just about get to this point without help.
I have looked for it using titanium backup, root browser and device control. It doesn't show on any...
So I have disabled a load of other things including device maintenance, com.samsung.andoid.sm.devicesecurity, and security manager service...
I was hoping one of these was the equivalent of securitylogagent.
Does this information below help?

So by the build number I see that you are not on a Verizon firmware so the app names may be different. It appears you have UK firmware so you will have to find what the app name is for that firmware.
What I can suggest is that the next time you get the notification, long press on the icon at the left. You should be taken to the notification options for that app and you should also see an app info button on the right. you may be able to track the actual app down using this info or at least disable notifications.
Thanks for your reply.
Oh crap, I'll never find it then...
Is there a way I could post an image of my system so as some experienced members on here may look at it.??
Thanks again.
