Spell check tab 3 8 - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use an external keyboard so I don't have any help spelling from predictive spelling. Also there is no red underlines to show you the spelling errors. I have heard google allows it but Samsung removes it? Is this true, how can the bluetooth keyboard users get some spell checking?

No Speech input?

I want to try Iris but I have not text to speech input,I might of deleted (thinking I would never use it) but I want it back again. Which file is it?
What did you delete? The whole TTS engine or just the voices?

I'm not sure if this is what you need but when I installed google translator and another software it wouldn't detect speech input and asked me to download this.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.voicesearch
The google translator never told me what was missing, and the 3rd party app gracefully told me what to install to make it work, shame on google.
Is that the siri wannabe?
I think I have your answer

Your topic is Speech to Text but your question relates to text to speech??
On the SE XPlay the "Speech to text" option is hidden via the use of the "international keyboard" which is missing the "mic" icon to enable you to speak into your phone and have it interpreted by the phone into text.
I installed "Gingerbread keyboard" from the market (I know that we are all running gingerbread but SE has not used the "Android default keyboard" with the play) then after selecting this as the default keyboard Speech to text will be possible.
google voice??

Search predicitons not working in some text fields.

When i'am using the swiftkey keyboard, (or swype for that matter), i do not get word predicitons in some text fields such as :-
1) Stock browser Search
2) Google Play Search Box,
And many other places.
IT is quite annoying because, the main idea of these apps is to provide meaningful predictions.. Is there anyway to fix this?
But what to Fix?

No. There's nothing wrong to get fixed!
Even with the HTC Sense Input, we don't get word suggestions in Stock or any other browser's address bar and play Store Search box as there we don't need any grammer.
The phone knows that the name of the website (in case of browser's address box) and the name of an app (in case of play store's search box) may not be there feeded in the dictionary. The names of the websites or apps aren't words that are there in a dictionary. But when you type a message, you're typing a language which needs grammar and these words used are there in the dictionary so the phone will automatically provide you word suggestions.

Dude, I agree in case of google play you probably don't require predictions..
But, wouldnt it be helpful if you had predictions if if u were searching for something loooong in the browser..
And as i said , they were only two examples... the predicions also don't work in text fields of 3rd party apps.
with swype u can save a word in the custom dictionary and, just "swype" to get those words/email id's/usernames/numbers passwords even in ANY text
So its was quite annoying when i switched over to swiftkey.
I heard the bug is fixed in android 4.0.4? Is there a workaround?

Remove "s" from Stock Dictionary

I am using the stock google gesture keyboard and the stock google dictionary. I frequently mistype the letter "a" as the letter "s". The android dictionary seems to think that "s" is a word, though I have no idea why. I would like to remove this work from teh stock dictionary. It is not in my user dictionary, and there are plenty of instructions for how to remove words there. While a better solution would be for me to press key smore accurately, that is a topic for another day. Does anyone know how to remove erroneous words from the default android dictionary? Does any one else get the s/a problem?

Why do you have to stick to stock keyboard? Get your Swiftkey on!

I've tried swype and swiftkey. Swpe for the longest, even bought the paid version recently, but Swype always ended up getting laggy and i always had delays on the keyboard. Back to my original question though...is there something about Swiftkey that allows you to edit the stock dictionary? I thought the updated version of the android keyboard offered all the advantages of gesture typing. What is the stock android gesture typing keyboard missing that swiftkey has?
Swiftkey now has cloud storage for your user dictionary which I think is pretty nice which syncs across all of you're android devices. I just live the setup of Swiftkey and the options it gives you. All I can say is download it and try it out. And you can edit your dictionary through Swiftkey, don't know if it's the stock dictionary or their version.

That's the whole problem is that the "s" is in the stock dictionary, not the user dictionary.

[Q] note 4 stock messages app

hi,
i have a note 4, and i have changed the Samsung keyboard to google keyboard, and i love it.
but now when i type a misspelled word i get two suggestions of words to replace it with. one on google keyboard and another one that pops up. the pop up looks to be from the stock Samsung messages app. i tried going to the messages settings to remove it, but i found nothing nor in language and input settings. so my question is how do i remove this one?
Get Swiftkey. I got it about 4 years ago when it was a paid app. It's free now but you can get themes cheap. I'm using this one.
I've never used another keyboard since I found it. I especially like the arrow keys and the predictions actually learn from you as you go.

Spellcheck

When I use Google Messages, the spell check rarely gives me good recommendations to correct a misspelled word.
What I am doing wrong?
Any help will be appreciated.
