[Q] DN3 v5 N7105 notices/question - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just managed to install DN3 to my N7105 device with AGNi kernel (as I'm on 4.1.2 bootloader).
I have chosen 3 google apps in the Aroma installer, but none of them were installed, so I had to do it manually. I tried to flash twice, but I got the same result, no google apps.
My other problem was the Accuweather widget. It appears in the widget list but when I put it on the screen it only shows a clock, nothing else. I could fix it by manually installing AccuweatherPhone2014.apk and WeatherDaemon2014.apk (found in the downloaded ZIP archive).
The question is about Google Play. When I purchase an app, it gets downloaded twice, and the installation only begins after the second download. I never had this on 4.1.2. I'm not sure why this happens, does it have to do something with user profiles maybe?
Edit: I noticed that it does not happen to all apps, but some.

I also noticed that an Android/data folder appeared on my external SD, some apps have some data stored there. I don't want any app to use my external SD (except Camera), I'm not sure how I could do that.

wont hold any settings, widgets etc.

Getting mighty hacked off with my desire.
Ok so I rooted my phone and have a custom Tom installed. Defrosts latest helping.
Every time I set Widgets or install certain apps they dissapear after a reboot.
Any idea what's going on and should I just unroot back to stock and start again?
Is the widget/app on the SD card? This will happen with some so they need to stay on the phone memory (so A2SD+ comes in handy)
Apparently the rom had a2sd included???
I will look to download it and try again. Thanks for the reply
Hi,
(First of all, excuse my english and my...noobness (?))
I have rooted my desire then installed oepndesire 4.0.36.
I had the same problem: all your applications must be installed in your sdcard otherwise they won't be there after reboot (with OD+cyanogen mod you've got an option to make it automatic).[EDIT]=>apps2sd indeed
But, personnaly, i still have a problem with applications with widgets:
i have 3 widget/icons (newsrob, juice potter...and facebook (sorry )):
These 3 apps were installed on sdcard directly, then i've installed their widget, but when i reboot the phone, widgets/icons have disappeared from screens and i can't find them anymore in my widget list; i just can make a shortcut toward the app, not the widget.
Could somone help me with this?
Thank you
[EDIT2]: It seems to work when i've reinstalled the apps/widgets after desactivating a2sd

[Q] samsung keypad + font installer hangs

I have a small problem i installed font installer from the market and now after uninstalling the keyboard is stuck on the font that was last installed by the app. I have gone through the root of my sd to find the apk from which the keyboard is installed and cannot for the life of me find it. I thought maybe if i could find it wiping cache and data on that apk would remove it. If there is anyone out there that may be able to help i would greatly appreciate it.
As seen in pic its only the keyboard. Also kote that swype keyboard and gingerbread keyboard are both the same as the system font for some reason its only this keyboard and that is it.

Flash your last back up from cwm?
Or try to install the app again and set it to the default font then uninstall it.
In the future use the built in flipfont.
Deebo took your bike too?
Hey there everyone. Here is the story in list format.
- Got first Galaxy S2 (Tmobile)
- after a few days rooted the phone using odin
- uninstalled bloatware via titanium back up pro
- installed a few apps(fb, twitter, swift key x, mobli, two different font changers)
- everything was running smoothly until i actually installed a font and the app prompted for a reboot.
- i reboot and the booting process freezes at the bootloader logo (tried countless times)
- i enter recovery mode to wipe phone.
- wipe phone.
- same issue.
- i thought then that the phone had some sort of issue in itself.
- i take the phone to tmobile a few days later and tell em some bs.
- get my new phone.
- root it again same way.
- uninstall all the bloatware i want gone and install all the apps i want.
- again SAME thing happens when i install this font changing program.
the program downloads previews for 146ish fonts. you select one. it actually downloads it and reassigns the default font with the font you download and after a reboot it should work.
except i get a frozen bootloader screen. so this time around i am convinced of the app somehow messing with the bootloader settings (etc...)
soooo...i decide to flash "SGH-T989 UVKID // Insecure // Root // Busybox" by bubby323.
odin says its successful, but still same freezing issue at bootloader.
help please.
Your problem is with the ROM. Boot into recovery, mount USB, put the ROM on your SD card and flash it from recovery.
Also, stop using that app

i do not have an external sd card, so is there any other method? i can always go and purchase one tomorrow. there is no way for me to put the file onto the internal sd memory because windows never recognizes the phone because it never boots up.
and trust me, i learned my lesson....never downloading that program again.

There are drivers posted in the dev section, be sure to try and download them again.
Your phone's "/sdcard/" location is actually an internal SD card. So when you use CWM to mount the sdcard, it will mount both the internal, and external SD card if it can. So you should still be able to do it.
as you said i was able to mount and copy over the rom, but after i copied over the rom file, it does not show on the android cwm file menu. maybe if i restart the phone?ill try it now.
still no go the rom file is not showing, the drivers have been installed. i reinstalled them JUST in case.
maybe i'm doing something.
- i mount usb storage
- copy over rom tar files
- unmount and look for it in the apply update from sd card and install zip from sd card selections but both show no files.
alright well after a few hours of trying a million different things...the only thing that worked was eaglesblood rom via cwm mount. thanks romanb for helping.

Insufficient Storage Error while installing/updating apps

From last week I'm facing this issue.
1) this issue is with some apps only.
- till now i hv seen this error while updating Facebook, Gmail and Tv Sideview app
2) Google Play store completely downloads the app but while updating it says Error: Insufficient Storage.
3)
But I'm able to install other apps from Google Play.
4) Even installing Facebook, Gmail, Sixaxis Controller manually from APK has failed it says Free up some space. While I can still install games as large as 50mb.
5) two weeks later I have rooted my phone, but I haven't done any critical changes which many rooted android users do.
6) some apps I'm using which u may want to know are:
-SuperSU, Root Uninstaller (fr deleting G-books n G-Newstand), GL to SD (but it's unmounted), Link to SD (just installed didn't use it), Rom Toolbox Lite (didn't use it either) and Lucky Patcher.
I have mentioned it because I got to know that it's the issue with those using lucky Patcher....???
Root /dev/log... Folder has just four files. Nothing to clean frm there.
Internal memory : 360mb (I had uninstalled some apps to increase it too 410mb but still facing the same issue)
Help requested. What to do now?
Phone: Sony Xperia M Dual
Model: C2004
Android version: 4.2.2 (Stock Rom) just rooted nothing changed.
======================================
UPDATE: FIXED ||||| PROBLEM SOLVED
====================================
I had changed d Apps2SD option to SD Card which was causing this error. Changed it to Auto again
By the way another fix is to goto lucky Patcher and in it's troubleshooting menu. Choose remove /delte (any logical options which says to clear) patches and backups
PS: i read it smwhere and haven't tried this one.

Snote won't save. Folder seems "locked"

So I went from Ditto note ROM back to official stock w/ root and everything has been perfect, but I noticed that I can't save s-note files anymore, nor can I copy files to the SNOTE folder unless I have root access. I've cleared snote data, but it's not helping.
Any ideas? This is on the latest 4.4.2 firmware and I've already allowed read/write access to my external card, but the Snote folder is in the internal memory, so that shouldn't be related.
I that similar problem.I did several wipes, flashed different roms-the old roms before official kitkat worked fine, official kitkat based roms wouldn't allow me to save s-notes. I wiped internal memory and it fixed the problem for me.

I think I solved it... this one's strange!
I created a separate folder and manually copied backups of previous s-notes in there. Then from a file manager I was able to open those files in snote and when I edited them, I was able to save them. The problem, however, is that this custom folder isn't where snote would normally save a new folder, so I went into my file manager with root access and deleted the snote folder. Then I cranked snote back up and it automatically creates a new "snote" folder and it allows me to save now.
Hope that lasts.

Junk Ware Self Installs Need Help!

I'm having issues with my DE Note 4. The issues I am having are as follows:
-Junkware Self Installing (go90, empire, cookie jam, panda pop, sugar smash, magic rush, and retail me not)
-Roms will not Clean install
I have gone through the following steps (not in exactly in order) to attempt to fix this:
=Odin Flash of two seperate Firmwares 1. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347796802 (Only link I can find through Morom Rom Page [http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...m-lollipop-tw-deodexed-lp-oaf-5-0-1-t3094727]) and 2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...nt/firmware-safe-upgrade-to-lollipop-t3178148 (Found on the Jasmine Rom Page [http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/development/rom-jasminerom-v1-0-t3113771])
=Switched Out and Formatted the SD Card.
=Redownloaded fresh files (From Jasmines page files, and From Morom page files after Jasmines didn't fix it) and transferred to the new clean SD Card.
=In Recovery I completely wiped everything on the phone except the MicroSD Card and flashed the Rom.
=Wiped Cache and Divak (SP)
=Rebooted phone went through setup wizard. **SET UP AS A NEW PHONE** So no apps were "recovered"
=Once the phone was set up the crapware installed itself again... I have no idea where its coming from.
=I still have apps that should have been removed by the Custom Rom as well. Such as Hancom Office, Hangouts, Milk, Verizon Message+ which sounds like a dirty install but I am wiping EVERYTHING how is it a dirty install?
Please help I need to get rid of this stuff and have tried everything I can think of. I've searched for this problem but no one else using these files seem to have the same issue. Thanks in advance.

You need to either open the rom.zip file and delete the folder system/priv-app/IgniteVerizon before you install the ROM or use a root browser to delete it on your phone. I would delete it from the zip file before it gets installed. That way DTIgnite won't get installed on your phone and add all the junk apps in the first place. The folder system/priv-app/IgniteVerizon should have been removed from the ROM in the first place because it is spyware.
