Hello first off everyone I'd like to state I don't own this device. I have a good friend of mine who attempted to use TowelRoot v3 on his SGH-M919 and can no longer connect to the Play Store or sign into any Google Accounts. His build number is JDQ39.M919UVUAMDL I have not had a chance to troubleshoot it psychically myself so I'm asking for your help so I can advise him properly.
Thank you in advance.
Edit : Numbers were erased as well however he says they are backed up with Google.
Edit 2 : it appears he ran this on 4.2.2 not 4.4.2 I was told 4.4.2 then remembered JDQ39 was NOT Kitkat.
Seeing a stupid comment on Google Play about an app you love and marking it as "spam". You've done it too.

Is your friend's google account still there under Settings->Accounts->Google?
Also, might try clearing the data/cache for Google Play Services and the Play Store and re-entering his/her information.
No because he attempted to remove it.

So when you say it's not connecting... you enter the information and hit OK.. it does what? Does it give you the failed to communicate with Google Servers error?
Eh, either way; there may be a way to go about doing it without going this extreme, but I can almost guarantee you that using Odin to re-flash the MDL firmware would fix it. You'd just end up having to re-download all his apps and all.

Yes, that error is what is given. It says that data may not be provisioned however they get that on both WiFi and data and can browse Web pages on both just fine. He hoping not to have to factory reset. (backing up pictures and stuff) but thank you I'll let them know.

Hey Guys,
I updated to 4.0.4 last night by clearing the data for Google Services Framework and rebooted. Update went smooth. Noticed this morning that when I go to the Play Store website, it does not show the Galaxy Nexus under My Devices. Same thing for Google Dashboard. I am on AT&T in the US. Anyone else have this issue? Able to resolve it?
Thanks
Perhaps someone on custom 4.0.4 rom or updated via normal method I.e. Google push update can check if their devices are missing as well ?
If so it would most likely be an issue with 4.0.4 or Google play store

I fastboot flashed 4.0.4 update to my phone and it shows up in the Play Store. Just installed an app from the web page no problem.
Has to be something with the way you "forced" the update, OP. Try clearing your Play Store cache/data and rebooting, and logging in/out on the browser.
Remove gmail account, readd gmail account

I tried this. Same thing. Galaxy Nexus does not show up in Play Store on the Web. I am able to download apps fine on the device itself. Any other ideas? Anybody else's not showing up in the Play Store?
This might be a dumb question but are you able to get into the playstore via your nexus? If you can perhaps you should try to download something from your phone and that might activate the play store to accepting your phone there.
Same for me, not showing up via the website but am able to download apps with no issue.
Try this

So I got my phone showing up in the Play store by signing in the store again. However, the store force closes every time I try to download an app from the web-ui. Anyone else experiencing this?
Downloading from the web seems to be working as normal for me. There was an error (927) bit disappeared after 20 sec.
Yeah, the problem resolved itself on my phone too.
i just cleared the play data sorted it instantly
it seems the problem is not the 4.0.4 update but clearing the Google Services Framework data. I still cannot see the phone on play store but as suggested above I will wait for another 30 min or so to see if it comes up.
PS: still on 4.0.2

This worked for fixing something missing in my device Play Store App, on my Razr M - it has yet to restore my device via the web browser.
Have tried everything else except Factory Reset (trying to avoid this).
Update: A day later my device is back via the web ~ though I suspect it's related to me removing a Secondary Google Account last night.
Running 4.1.2 (stock rom, no root)

I get this error alot when making purchases in the google play store. What is the cause of this and how do you fix it?????
Not sure why it happens, but as far as how to fix it, since you haven't gotten an expert answer here, I'd suggest going to Google and searching for the error. Then click on any link you like on the first FIVE pages. It will probably be quicker than waiting foe an answer here.
Good luck with your Purchases!
Force stop Play Market, then Clear Data. That should fix you right up.
Go into settings go to apps go to all apps force stop and close data for google services and google play store go into recovery clear cache and dalvik cache reboot go into play store accept terms of service and everything will work from there

This happened to me last night, finally fixed it this morning, stop gmail from syncing, clear data in Play Store and Google Framework, reboot, and log back into Google. Done Deal.
There is a reason for this error. Purchase it when you are on that carrier's network data. It will never work over Wi-Fi. Anyone who says otherwise has obviously not tested this. Using the carrier's connection provides for and easier user experience and less safety issues for T-Mobile. Going to My Account on the T-Mobile site is a prime example as it requires a carrier connection.

This ^ and often the system goes down for maintenance or due to outages.
Always check the Google Play Store Known Issues link http://support.google.com/androidmarket/bin/static.py?page=known_issues.cs&ki_topic=1319135 before even beginning to troubleshoot problems or you will be wasting your time.
There is an open issue with the error and the only fix now is to clear the cache like others have already stated.
I have also found that if you are doing a Titanium Backup it helps not to backup the Google Play Store or the Google Framework Services.... in doing so I have had better success avoiding the issue described in the OP.
google play store error: [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]
I've been getting this on a few devices for the past few days and have done LOADS of searching and tried numerous listed and suggested solutions to resolve this error. Including removing and re-adding google account, clearing cache and data on Google Play Services and Google Play store. Restoring a previous backup of the Playstore etc. but nothing has worked.
Seems I'm not alone. Here are some recent search results you can paruse if you feel like it.
Just this evening I logged into the Play Store via the Web on a PC and went to 'My Applicatins' in the Play Store and get an error there too!!
Supposedly Google is aware of this and is 'working on it' but since they are notorious hard to get any real information from I doubt we'll get an update until it 'just works'.
Though I'd put this out for others in the same boat.
Have you tried the JB server reset?
In Terminal:

su

Reboot phone

Tried that too. Still getting error. Still can't update anything. Also tried diferent (including stock) kernels and doing all of the suggestions.
When I log into Playstore via web and click on 'My Android Apps' I get this "We're sorry, there was an error. Please try again later." too still.
Did get some apps to install by just unistalling and using the web to 'push' them to the phone again. But others won't.
Pretty frustrating. But I guess I'll just keep pluging along.

I spoke yesterday with the support of Google. They do not have any solution and what they said is just ridiculous "to wait until a solution" Currently website record that they support are aware of the problem and the middle of April they care but still no solution.
I suggest you just call and update them that the problem is common and much simpler device owners encounter this problem ... just massive advertising will probably have to address the problem. This simply indicates disrespect.

Or that they have no idea what the problem is and they are stalling as much as they can so they don't have to admit it (more likely scenario)
Everything is now working!!!!!!!!!!!! Problem solved!!!!!:highfive:
Okay I fixed now....
I switched off all of my devices.. Then I keep one only...
Go to system
Privacy
Unmark back up my data
Then make a factory reset..
After that the device will be opened again...
Put your email
Unmark restore my account in this device (in the first setup)
After setup is finished go to market.. Then you will find all your purchased apps and even your pending updates.
Try to retrieve one of your purchased app, and update one app
That is it.
Now open your other devices.. All well be fixed.
This is my experience.
Hope will work with you
Playstore seems to be working for me too now.
Works on phone AND the Web (desktop) interface for 'My Android Applications' is working too.
Also thought I'd add this for other who have problems with PlayStore.
Though Google seems to have corrected the problem, it may come up in the future, or you may simply wish to download .apk(s) seperately.
You can use a Chrome extension to download the .apk then push it to your phone or copy it and install it.
There is a good page on how to do this here.
The one caveat I'd recommend if you use the extension it to use Google's two factor/step authentification, create an application specific password for just this extension, use the extension to grab your apk(s) then delete that app specific access. If you don't know how to do that there is always Google.. [I hate when I have to use my Google credentials anywhere and really don't trust any other sites or applications to be secure and completely non-nefarious; but that's me and my tinfoil hat].
Hi there,
I left my phone on (i927, CM11, 4.4.4) when I was away and when I returned, I noticed that there are multiple error messages. They appear all the time, even after a reboot.
These are the errors I am getting:
Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped.
Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
Unfortunately, Google Services Framework has stopped.
Also, when I try to log into Google Play , it says Authentication Required and won't let me retry to login.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance!

I also had this problem since the beginning of February IIRC. I figured out what happened with logcat: libgmscore.so crashes the gapps process due to an illegal instruction. Asus TF101 users also report this issue. That tablet uses a Tegra 2 SOC, like our phone, and it doesn't support neon instructions, which the latest versions of the Play Services apparently use without bothering to check for proper support in the CPU. So, at least for now, the solution is to downgrade and prevent updates to play services. See this thread for details: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ee...to-fix-crashing-google-play-services-t3557521
It's been working fine for me since I did that, but I'm kinda appalled that Google is so reckless.
Edit: the right variant for our phones, if you're still on a 4.0 ROM, is 034. You don't need a system app remover, just uninstall updates for Google Play Services.

I had this problem too. I was running a custom ROM - Omni ROM 4.4. I also observed that everything was fine if I didn't update Play Services. However, some apps (eg current Gmail app) require it.
I have since gone back to stock ROM (ICS 4.0.4). The problem now is syncing issues. Not every Google service can sync. EG- Contacts, Keep, Calendar. _ they can't sync. WhatsApp and SwiftKey also cannot connect to my google account. That's where I'm at now. But at least, the phone is usable. It's the syncing problem that I was searching for a solution for and I saw this thread.

Late reply, but if you use Google Play services 10.0.84, as in the post I linked, sync will work again.
Update: According to this post, the issue will be fixed properly by Google soon. So get ready to delete those directories to allow Play services to update themselves.

Hi all, many thanks for all of your responses. I didn't get to try Wr4i7h's suggested fix, but updating Google Play to the latest version today has solved the problem!
Is anyone else having trouble downloading apps from the Play Store? Apps will get to 98%, then just stop. I've tried rebooting, clearing the cache and data for the Play Store, and Play Services. I also removed my Google account, and re-signed in. It works for a day or two, then goes right back to getting stuck at 98%.

Try clearing the system cache on the boot menu.
Were any Google apks updated recently or need to be?
I have apps set to be manually updated, and I don't see any updates available. I've even tried a factory reset.
Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Forget a factory reset as even if it fixes it you're likely to trigger it again.
Try resetting the associated Google system apks back to the factory load. If you already done that check for updates. Make sure you are not using a misconfigured firewall or package blocker.
Google the error code. Playstore is a little bitc$.
Probably a setting... or a data issue.
Keep playing with it; Androids wuv being played with.

Not sure all of the ones. Goggle play service for starters. This one won't wipe your google sign in.
To nuke all of just clear all the data in all the google apks. Something may have got corrupted by backup when you reloaded.
Maybe what's needed as well is clearing Google online data. Then clear the apks data... again.
Something's misconfigured or corrupted -if- the your current software is compatible with Playstore.
Go through all your Google online and Google phone settings.
Play with it and remember to reboot after making changes; it may not take until you do.
Lol even when Playstore is running right it's a little sketchy.

Use ApkExport to backup your apps to the SD card/computer. You can easily reinstall them then after a reload. You always have a known good copy.
Works perfectly with no adware.
Sometimes the PS issues resolve themself after a few days/weeks:silly:
