Man, I have seen CM11 kernels here getting 408mb of RAM! Hurtsky's kernel to be exact. Arco also increased CM11 memory to 396mb also. How? I mean last time, Hadi did a 400~mb RAM kernel and that had camera issues.
Its really amazing to see this little device getting better each day. I rmb one thing i "hated" this device for is the RAM, and now its better

Hi guys
ım presenting you CAF kk_2.7-stable branch based kernel
Kernel sources are coming from Christopher83's K^Kernel sources (hats off to @Christopher83)
I just compiled the kernel for W
btw
What is CAF?
CAF = Code Aurora Forum. CAF is where Qualcomm engineers work to optimize the Linux kernel exclusively for Qualcomm chipsets. Device manufacturers use the kernel source from CAF to create kernels for their Qualcomm devices, but the code they get from CAF is always several months older than the latest code available on CAF. By grabbing the latest kernel source from CAF and adding device spesific patches(ancora sensor drivers), we have a most updated and pure CAF based kernel that has all of the latest improvements and optimizations from Qualcomm :good:

I think cause of this add made by Christopher83
- Dynamic memory allocation of MM ION heap through CMA (Contiguous Memory Allocator)
- Dynamic memory allocation of PMEM ADSP heap through CMA (Contiguous Memory Allocator)
It's because of the use of CMA for PMEM
Btw, K^kernel by @Christopher83 got 416MB max ram with out camera/ video issue.

No one builds those ROMs for us lately, though...probably why we don't get any work related to it done. I'll assume arco will bump them when CM11 is finalised in favour of L-based custom ROMs.

GLaDOS for ICS
Based on GLaDOS V1.9 + Koush's ICS kernel patches.
Comes with all features of GLaDOS V1.9 plus debugging enabled and init.d support (thanks Flo).
Known issues:
1. BT is activated on boot and not soft blocked with rfkill when disabled. This causes only the DEEP IDLE state with TOP=ON to be used. You can manually disabled BT with 'echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/bt_rfkill/rfkill/rfkill0/soft' using the terminal or adb shell, however this will break the BT switch until the next reboot. This is a problem with the ICS alpha ROM and I have informed Koush about it.
2. USB mass storage might not work on Linux machines or older OS without making some configurations on the OS side first; it did work ootb with Windows 7.
I am currently running this kernel with Koush's ICS CM9 alpha 11 release as my daily driver and I cannot guarantee it will work on other ROMs (chances are good
though).
As always I do not support OC/UV and if you decide to do so, you are on your own, however try raising the bus/GPU with Live OC (I currently use an OC value of 125) and with the new hardware-acceleration in ICS you can see the UI fly.

Are you sure this is full linaro? not just the kernel compiled with linaro?
You have set TARGET_TOOLCHAIN_ROOT to linaro toolchain in build/core/combo/TARGET_linux-arm.mk ?
If so, well done!
I'd be interested to see the changes you've made to the source tree to resolve the build errors. Is your code up on github?

Our source for the kernels is from the Chinese version of the inc2 (vivo_ct), both kangaroo and oneshot/new sense/have sense are built with linaro tool chain , kangaroo kernel max freq is 1.4 vs 1.9 GHz for one shot , both are a solid choice over stock kernel , try em all out

Performance is alot better than stock (or custom stock based kernels)...
Been using it since release and it's pretty good... No big issues (using it with CM 10.2 repacked). Battery life is little bit worse than stock cm kernel but overall it's better (in my opinion).
It however does seem to have some trouble with default config (it lags really bad). I set gov to interactive, scheduler to deadline and buffer to 128 and it the smoothest my hox has ever been (battery is not very good but tolerable - still manage to atleast last a day)
Yesterday i downloaded hearthstone on my galaxy nexus and launched it. It loads with a bit of lag, then in menu its alright, but when i start a match, it goes black and shuts down instantly. I read on reddit that someone made hearthstone playable on htc desire hd, which has even lower specs than gnex. So what are the options to make it playable ? I dont know about any performance boosting for android, but i read about stuff like v6 supercharger, but i dont know if its the right thing for game boosting.

Isn't the GPU overlocking configuration possible on Kitkat roms as well? I remember Franco Kernel and Dirty V having that option. As far as I know, L roms are not prerequisites to over-clocking the GPU.
If Franco and Dirty V can do that you should implement those kernels on your device.. If you implement Dirty V kernel don't forget to apply Nephilim's settings.. As they will make your device fly... ??
