KNOX can't be disabled in the bootloader. You can only disable KNOX apps, so you don't get knox warning etc. And for that I believe you have to be rooted.

4. go to system/app in aroma and find and rename all the knox.apk files to knox.apk.bak(in short add ".bak") and dont touch files tat have .odex names (for ex. KNOX.odex)
learn to read 1st mate.
Thanks for your help, this process is very complicated, I just wanted to install the CyanogenMod 11 more leaves it to the next!
* If I knew about this before Knox I would not have bought the Galaxy Note 2, I am very disappointed with Samsung.

You have the same Kernel version as me, so the easiest way would be to use towel root :
https://towelroot.com/
It is a one click root and shouldn't need much explanation. If this for some reason shouldn't work you could still try CF-Autoroot
NOTE:
Towel Root does not trigger the KNOX counter and you will still have your warranty
CF-Autoroot DOES trigger the KNOX counter and so will void your warranty

its already did not worked. by the way cm13 has its own ROOT option in "DEV. OPTIONS"
im from iraq and i downloaded the new marshamallow firmware thru odin (Update, without format or restore)
everything is awesome
except that the battery is draining
the charging is slower
and the device is heating
any recommendations for me if im wrong?
In my case 5.1.1 also used to drain battery fast.
I just got the OTA 6.0.1 G928C here in Sri Lanka and I did notice the battery takes a lil longer to charge.
Also, before in 5.1.1 in the battery usage Android System was the biggest drainer which has now changed (rightfully?) to the screen.
I'm charging this fully right now to see the overnight drain as it used to be crazy before. And by tomorrow I'll know for sure how good/bad the drain is battery wise.
Other than that the update is fine and smooth.

i think you need factory reset/update
Are you knox 0X1 or 0X0?
If you are knox 0X1 this is the reason fuss battery drain, like Note 5 on mm.
And of course you need a factory reset for this main update.

Only Samsung knows that.
If you read at Note 5 thread you will see this issue and there is a fix from devs about that.
Everyone updated on mm with knox 0X1 had battery drain and this is a fact.

Where will these ideas with knox 0x1 = drain?
You need factory reset after flash with Odin or after OTA and all is OK.

Actually he's right.. I have knox tripped and I went back to latest 5.1.1 few days ago and android system used somewhere between 30-40% battery and battery drained REALLY fast.. I'd say about twice as fast as normal. Clicking on Android system, to see what is in that group, reveals a lot of knox related stuff. I tried reflashing via odin and factory reset a few times but the issue remained. Then I read of this problem and flashed arter kernel yesterday and battery is back to normal and as it deletes knox completely android system now drains about 1-3% and when clicking on it there's no more knox entries...
My guess would be that as knox is tripped, it doesnt really work anymore, but deep in the system there's still a lot of knox related stuff and there's a conflict or something that causes it to drain battery..

So I just checked mine too and my Knox is 0x1. Probably the original seller did some flashing before I got the phone as it was an imported device. Probably explains the crazy battery drain I had in 5.1.1.
I didn't really go thru XDA and thought it was a pretty common issue and waited for MM.
Should I just go ahead with a factory reset and re-flash MM? Does that clear out Knox?

From what people are saying thiugh flashing the c marshmallow firmware in the f variant trips knox too
Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
OK so my battery drain is crazy as I woke up in the morning with the phone being very hot and it had drained to 23% from c. 70% with Android OS being the culprit. So I have the same issue as 5.1.1. So probably the Knox issue 0x1 is the culprit here.
Gonna read around and see what I can do about this. This is just annoying cuz when I got this device I thought I'm done with down with tinkering.

I can confirm that it does NOT trip knox. Flashed G928C firmware on my G928F with no problems. Just follow the exact instructions in the [HOW-TO] Android 6.0.1 working on SM-G928F! thread!
NOTE: OFFICIAL 6.0.1 IS OUT FOR SM-G928F
NO NEED FOR THIS ANYMORE!
Hi everyone!
First of all, I don't figured out how this works, it was @adoe !
All credits go to him!
Here comes a little guide on how to flash Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on
SM-G928F
It's confirmed working by myself!
NOTE: I don't know if it triggers the knox counter, as my is already triggered before!
If anyone is brave enough to flash without knowing or doesn't care if it triggers the knox counter, please let me know if it triggered!
Knox counter confirmed to stay on 0x0
1. Download official SM-G928C Android 6.0.1 firmware from Sammobile or another source you probably know.
2. Download .pit file from attachments below. Thanks to @adoe for this file
3. In Odin choose the firmware for SM-G928C as AP (former PDA) and choose ZENLTE_EUR_OPEN_HIDDEN250M.zip as Pit. (NOTE: USE THIS PIT FILE ONLY ON SM-G928F! OTHERWISE YOU WILL HARDBRICK YOUR DEVICE!)
4. Make sure Re-Partition is enabled!
5. Make sure Nand Erase All is enabled!
6. Flash!
7. Let's eat Marshmallows!
8. (optional) For root and deep sleep fix install THIS (thanks to @Chainfire) via Odin as PDA
Screenshots on how to set Odin as well as the Odin version that I use in attachments!
Hope you guys enjoy!

Every firmware has a own pit file in it. When you flash G928F firmware it will flash it's device specific pit file, wenn you fash G928C firmware it will flash it's device specific pit file, too.
For this, you give odin the device specific pit file for G928F, so that it will work.
When you want to go back on G928F firmware (obviously when official MM firmware comes out) you need no pit file as it's already included in the firmware.

Maybe this works, but it's not cheap and (i think) not tested on the A 2017 series.
I'd be very wary of that website I havent seen anything relating to confirmation it works on XDA.
