I followed this guide to zero out my efs partition since it became corrupted after flashing a Korean rom. My question is did my icc id stay the same or did this guide change it?
Thanks.

Did you restore a backup of your EFS? If so did you have a backup from before it was corrupted? If you flashed your backup over the corrupted it should have fixed it, there should have been no need for wiping it. But to get more attention you probably should have asked this question in that thread.

N7105 does not have nv_data.bin
Please forgive me if I am mistaken…
I noticed that the N7105 does not have nv_data.bin (I think Samsung LTE devices don’t have this).I’m not certain that a traditional efs backup will be enough to ensure the safety of your IMEI when flashing.
To be on the safe side in addition to the traditional efs backup I also followed the steps in the following post to create an IMEI backup using QPST:

thx , can we then flashe the other roms in 7100 and restore the back up from 7105 ? does it work that why or no?

Thanks for this information. Worked for me fine. Could save a very expensive bricking in the future!

Thanks for your remind, this is very important information for all Note 2 LTE user!!!
This is incredibly useful information and thanks a lot for that - backed my data up just to be on the safe side!
This should, however, be on the EFS partition so if you are using TWRP you can actually create a full system backup including the EFS partition. I have been trying to get the N7100 CM build running on my N7105 by patching in various radio files and with the help of a certain developer within the N7100 community. So far the progress is slow but during this time I have been restoring back and forth between samsung stock and CM10. The facts of the process are this:
- The N7100 restores have to be patched to remove the check for N7100 (or you can use the N7100 recovery but that's not recommended.)
- The N7100 restores do *not* have support for our Qualcomm radio
- The N7100 restores *DO* work with Wi-Fi within our N7105 since this chip is the same
Essentially if you flash CM10 you end up with a tablet at this time but as I say, I am working on this when I get the time to fiddle and am hoping to get the N7105 CM build working properly.

I had same problem, exactly like topic starter says
I fixed it following this guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2088809
I didn't use TriangleAway like the thread guide says, but still worked.
Can anyone tell me how to avoid wiping my IMEI from my Note 2 when i try to install TWRP?
Thank you

did you use Odin to flash TWRP? I have never had any problems flashing 1st TWRP via Odin.
Make backup of EFS and keep it in safe place, everything else is not so important

Yes I used Odin, maybe with wrong TWRP file? is that possible?
Thanks for your anwser. I did that with a program called Titanium Backup
Do i restore it the same way i did the backup (same app) ?
What if it fails to restore it? Im afraid to try it again, it was a shock, though i bricked it
Some versions of TWRP don't do that. I used 2.8.0.0. But I just got tired of it and just used CWM philz advanced. I only use TWRP when i need to fix permissions. Also you can restore your IMEI by using Kies.
Well guys I've got a note 2 n7100 and as usually, the first thing I did was flashing a rom to it (dn4 to be specific) everything went fine and so on but the problem now is that I bricked as it seems my efs and I didnt make a backup. Any suggestion about how to fixe it? (I'll rather a solution without uninstalling the ROM but any solution is welcome)
ps: if need more detailed information, feel free to ask

flash modem or go back to stock with Odin
you'd better do EFS backup

If you don't know that, then you shouldn't be messing with android at all.
It's safe and well known method for solving IMEI null issue

I've backed my TA partition using this tutorial : http://twigstechtips.blogspot.dk/2016/04/sony-z5-compact-root-without-losing-ta.html
After a while I've decided to restore it using the same tutorial above but after all the steps I wasn't successful in restoring it. With sony software I get an error saying that it cannot get phone info. After reading online this type of error occurs when sony software detects modified phone software so I assume my DRM restore wasn't successful.
Is there any other way to restore my TA partition ?

Did you downgrade to LP? That procedure was created for a earlier release of LP and you must downgrade with flashtool to restore them and then re-lock your bootloader (which Is what I believe you´re trying to do)

Yes, I did downgrade to LP. I followed the instructions successfully but my bootloader didn't get locked again. Probably I'm missing something or doing something wrong but I can't figure out what exactly. Thanks for your reply though.
Hi XDA Community,
I soft-bricked my phone, it gets stuck on fastboot even after flashing my backup. The only thing I didn't backup is my userdata partition. Does anyone have the T-mobile firmware so I can unbrick?
Thanks
MSM doesn't exist for T-Mobile yet. Did you try fastboot -w to erase all userdata?
Yes, nothing so far. However someone out there can probably dump their tmb firmware and I can use fastboot flash.
I fixed it!
Looks like the vm-bootsys file was responsible, so flashed that and good to go!
Nvm, now stuck on wiping
EDIT: It's doing the same thing again
Unfortunately, TMO MSM doesn't exist currently, and full OTAs are not available, so there is no good way to extract /system, /system_ext, /vendor, /product, and /odm from super. It sounds like you backed up everything though, so what happens if you just flash everything back?
Hey I might be able to help you dude? I pulled my tmo firmware as back up. I mean I pulled every partition and made a flashall.bat if I knew how to put it on a site or share with my drive it's 20gb.

I extracted all that even vbmeta_vendor all partitions. If you can tell me how to send it to you I will let u look over everything and I can see if it will help ppl. I used it to get my 9 pro unbricked. I got the convert to us OnePlus os in. I just can't update yet.
Yes I would very much appreciate it. @craznazn I will convert to EU as a last resort, that's what I was actually attempting in the first place! Thanks!
You can zip it using something like 7-zip and put it on anonfile, they have 20GB limit but compression makes the folder size smaller. Thanks a ton!
Or you could use gofile, unlimited storage space.

Did you get this backed up online yet by chance?
I want to flash Global myself but waiting till there is at least something to attempt to flash to fix if it breaks.
I flashed EU, am A-OK apart from maybe downgrade to L3, still working that out.
Also, you can back it up yourself using Partitions backup and restore on the Play Store. Just make sure you are rooted, otherwise it won't work.

What partitions did you backup using that app and were you able to successfully restore using that app as well? Does the BL remain unlocked after restore?

He's running an experimental MSM conversion I built, it's not public yet. It does not touch the BL unlock. The process is not stable and it's not ready for public use.
That, and it's no longer the TMO ROM, and there is no good way back w/o an official LE2127 MSM
I am gonna try to write a guide my first one if I am not breaking any rules. Anyone can tweak or down it? But like I say messing with android is trail and error. I am gonna put the. Rom I pulled and used to unbrick while y'all are waiting on the msm. To me. This is just an easy fast fix so look out for it on the guides.
I backed up everything except for userdata. Make sure you manually dd the super partition to a super.img, otherwise it stays a tar. That's the mistake I made. I'm sure I can convert it but prob not worth the hassle.
