I have been receiving about 50 flash sms a day, with my service provider name, from the number 50. As I read, it might be a issue with activating and deactivating cell broadcast on the phone. However, I could not find the path suggested for the deactivation (Setting/Call/Other Call Settings). The option does not exist on this path. Any help?
Thank You

How do i disable automaticaly beeing push over to mobileweb sites? I want full web experience, but some site force me to use their mobileweb site. Can anyone help me? (Sorry for my bad english)
Have you even tried to look for an answer yourself? It's under settings -_-
Look in settings on the browser for user agent and change it to desktop.
The setting is hidden on some rom's. If this is the case type about:debug in address bar and look again.

what you on about its nothing to do with the user agent string that just identifies what device your using, all you have to do to disable mobile websites is make sure the box next to mobile view in settings view is UNCHECKED

It has everything to do with the user agent string. Some sites divert you to a dumbed down mobile version of their site if you are using a mobile device (as the op said). If you set the string to desktop you can get the full site.
As for the mobile view switch...I can't find it. But I do remember seeing it a while ago. Did it disappear with the update?

On my ROM (custom but based on 2.2 with Sense), it can be found as follows:
Internet - Menu - More - Settings - "Mobile view" (under "Display configuration")
I think its only on sense roms then. Cuz I'm using cyanogenmod and its not there, but changing the user string does the same thing.

Yes, but you lose all background connectivity with the app when on cell.
Settings | Data Usage | Set mobile data limit
- You can set the limit very high if you like
Now scroll down to the apps list and for every app that you only want WiFi notification (no cell notification) tap on that app, scroll to the bottom and select 'Restrict background data'.
Now, even if you are not at your limit those apps will only connect in the background on WiFi...
Awesome, thanks!! When you say I will lose all background connectivity, what do you mean? Do you mean that I won't get notifications when WIFI isn't on? If that's the case then that's how it is currently.

That's correct - the apps that you manually select will be denied network access when you're on the cell network but will automatically be allowed when on WiFi.
So on cell they won't connect to the world and you won't get notifications...

... which isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially if you have a capped data plan. You can still refresh your data manually in most cases, such as from opening your weather app, re-opening your ScoreCenter app,...
Has anyone seen John Connor?
Has anyone been able to use data while disabling voice? I believe that Motorola devices had a ddtm mode that would send calls to voicemail when using data. Anyway to do this with the nexus? Maybe an app?
I need to do a demonstration from the phone and don't want to have the demo interrupted by a call. Obviously, for the demo I need data or I would just put it in airplane mode. Wifi isn't an option.

Should be able to go to Settings > Wireless and Networks (More) > Mobile Networks > uncheck Data enabled. Not sure if that disables the voice network as well, though.

Do not disturb Google voice setting does this if you have it. I never use my actual cell phone number any more.
Search "do not disturb" in market.
It's the one with the red icon and it is free.
Thank me later.

this appears to only silence incoming calls....this won't work because as the phone still "rings" data stops until the call goes to voicemail. Ddtm would send the call straight to voicemail without interrupting the data connection. I guess there aren't any real solutions out there right now...

Those are the stock apn settings for each carrier.
Settings > more> mobile networks > access point names.
To check imei.
Settings > about phone> status> imei (anything other than "0" is good)

Still won't send. What network mode should I have? I am currently using GSM/WCDMA preferred. I have two other options:
LTE/WCDMA
LTA/GSM/WCDMA
By the way, I prefer to use 3G because LTE drains my battery I heard. And I can't use 2G because the signal completely disappears.

Select lte/gsm/wcdma and try that. Worry about disabling lte after you can send a text.
Are you using the stock mms or a third party app?
Some third party apps don't play nicely with some Roms

With this problem I have found that I have had to completely delete the APN and then add it back in and reboot. Delete, add it back in manually and then reboot.
You might have to reboot between deleting and re-adding.

I have one labeled "Bell Flex"
APN: inet.bell.ca
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: Same as "Bell" APN
MMS Port: Not set
Can I delete that one?
Not familiar with Bell APN settings but I'm sure they can be googled. I deleted all the APN's in my phone and only added then one I needed.
I believe you can restore defaults at any point as well.
