Hi guys,
I was redirected here by a friend, to ask few question I hope this thread can be not a once reply topic but a section were we'll disscuss about security in NFC Tags and Readers.
He tried to anwser few of my questions but hope for another anwsers.
I'm a 20 year old student, and my as my homework I got NFC security.
Before I start, let me tell you about my equipment, own this device and a tag (actually 3, tag the paper, a key, and a card).

}
Now my "homework" is to find a security hole/try to break it/ in school where the system is setuped as that the tag reader identifys a tag by ID of the tag and if the tag is located in the database it allows access to the room.
I need to get into it without knowing any tags, actually I know the, but thats not the point.
~Can NFC Tag ID be changed or can it be controled by a script ?
~ If so how ?
~Can I bruteforce NFC reader using HCE NFC phone / device ?
~ If so how ?
~Does the reader that I have ACS.com.hk manifacture ACR122 Keep logs ?
(tried to find out but without success)
That is for beggining hope you guys will help me with my study, would appriciate it very much.

Well, after looking for an not finding what I wanted...I just decided to build it.
#1 - place to compare ROMs and Kitchens..with filter and sorting.
#2 - place to keep track of my own personal ROIM experiences
#3 - place to keep track of cabs I load (how many cabs do you have on your storage card you have no idea what it is)
So I built up this Sharepoint site and gave a bunch of Cookers rights to post their stuff...but more is better!
So, now I'm going to the public.
Here are some screenshots of the basic idea

Here are some of the cool stuff you can do with lists:
filter By Carrier
Filter By system
here's where users can track their experiences with different ROMs and Kitchens
Here they can track stuff on different Programs and Cab and such.
So....after all that...
The site is located at : http://sp.textultant.com/Mobility
The URL will redirect you there : http://TheMobilityExperts.com
Please understand that adding users is not automatic and somewhat cumbersome....I will try to process requests as soon as I can...but I just want to set expectations...It may by 24 hours or more in some cases. since I'm the only Admin right now.
Hope you like it...There's a survey out there on the site to let me know what you think.
EVERYONE can View...
there are instructions on the site for how to Join and Use

Hello!
I am a heavy user of RSS/google reader and I have to read a lot of articles everyday.
Here I wrote an app: Quick News for myself to speed up the reading. Maybe someone like me will like it!
Bug reports and suggestion are welcome!

Thanx! looking good
I'm new to windows 8 and just starting to learn the new metro, apps and stuff..
I also use Google reader alot!
Have your app on the side of the screen and see all my new Google Reader items...
Only thing is I have to manually refresh it to get new items... would like it to auto refresh so new items 'pop up' on the side
Maybe a way to set minutes between refreshes?
And one other thing...
when I Browse original source and then Launch Browser.. nothing happens.. I have Firefox browser as default browser.. maybe thats why??
Link is broken? I would really like this app...
it's a very good app bro faster than any rss reader i've ever used on win 8
any mirror?
Good day.
For my professional obligations (working with the DDTC's D-Trade system), I secured a Digital ID from IdenTrust.
I installed the certificate on my x64 workstations. I exported the Digital Certificate to a PFX and imported it into my Sprint SGSIII (d2spr - a SPH-L710). I am running an AOSP based ROM on the device - SlimKat which is a kitkat build.
Upon importing the certificate, I received a notification as depicted in this image:

I am not interested in letting the CA see all of my network activity, as some of it is not for public consumption (especially given that I am a Gov't Contractor working on some sensitive programs).
My question is this: Is the warning that the OS tossed a warning that is possibly too generic in nature and that the CA really can't monitor all of my network activity, or is there truly a risk of the CA being able to sniff the network activity?
Please advise. Thank you, in advance.

Mods, I cross posted this into the general android Q&A forum too (here). I tried to delete this thread and was unable to do so (maybe 'cause I am a newer XDA forum member.?.). Please feel free to lock or delete this thread, if & as warranted. Thanks.

Hi I just wanna share my program I no longer maintained, Huawei Router Tool, which its function to communicate with Huawei router. The features included almost same as in webui. You can add more features using API list I included in the repo. Regarding API, you need to study abit on how the parameter works.

Hi!
Thank you pearlxcore for the code : )
Can you help me understand if I could use some of the API's to make a firmware update (or downgrade)? I have a B612s-51D router that hasn't the local firmware upload menĂº, and I'm looking for a workarround to update the firmware.
Any thoughts of how to achieve this?
Thanks!
Hey, thanks for this code. Have you ever had a problem with router WI-FI? I had and I made a restart but nothing, it didn't want to work. I tried other ways but nothing. This happened when I wanted to change something in your code. Thanks to one my friend that suggest me this site http://192.168.42.1, here you can find all the problems that can have your router and its solutions. Here I found which was my problem and in some clicks I solved it. Now your code works without problems. Thanks again.
Thanks!
It works great on my B535-333. By the way i can finally receive/send sms without getting in Huawei router interface.
Hi, i'm new here and have been wanting to do some stuff with my old Citi At&t Universal "Card" which was made under MasterCard's Pay pass system. I't just like NFC from what I've seen and i want to know if there's a way to possibly wipe it and apply custom commands to it? My main goal is to possibly override it (if possible) and apply my debit card number so i can do contactless payment since my phone sadly doesn't support it since i rooted it earlier last year since it needed a better OS than MIUI. This Pay pass device has been long deactivated and the card is no longer in use from my knowledge, yes this used to be my parent's but they just let it sit in a drawer for years and i tried it at my school on a vending machine and it was automatically declined. Hopefully someone know of something i could do to give it a use, i am able to open it if need be to show off it's internals, but i'll include a photo of the device here as well to give some use. Hopefully someone can help or point me into the right direction cause it'd be cool to use this as my contactless payment method cause i'd rather not pay hundreds for a smart watch or "smart" ring just to do "Tap and Go" payment at store, restaurants, etc. Thanks and have a good day!
