Outer glass is not digitizer ? - LG Optimus G Pro

My AT&T E980 has a long crack, but LCD and touch function are still working perfectly . I read that the digitizer/glass is not fused to the LCD ?
While searching Ebay I come across :
1) Outer glass: http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-Outer...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item485ee1c142
2) Outer glass with digitizer : http://www.ebay.com/itm/for-LG-Opti...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item2a392d3221
3) the adhesive : http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-x-Pre-Cut...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item4acdf1cdbd
So, E980 has an outer glass glued to digitizer ? but not to LCD ? I always thought outerglass = digitizer .
In my case, what should I buy ? TIA

Option 2. You won't be able to separate the glass from the digitizer. On you tube check the videos on replacing the glass.

[Q] Cracked Screen and Tape Help

I just replaced my LCD and digitizer on my Evo 4g, but I guess I didn't pay enough attention to the parts . My question is, where does the adhesive tape go? in other words, is it between the back of the mother board and the LCD, or somewhere between the LCD and digitizer, or where????
If it goes between the lcd and digitizer, wont the tape show?
Please help!! TIA
Any Help? Any One???
lol it dose goe in between the digi and the lcd trick is to get it to the outer edges of the screen and the tape wont show plus it should only be a thin piece not the whole thin it should look like the outer edge of the lcd place it on the outer edge then place the digi over it and you should be good !

Does the xperia play front housing case has a glass? And how to glue it back?

Hi guys,
I just dropped my Xperia Play and the front glass cracked. I was going to buy a new housing case on ebay but now I'm confused about what I actually need and how to repair it.
This is the item I saw on ebay (Full housing case). Judging by the pics it seemed to me that the front cover comes with a glass already?, but then another search gave me the result for a touch screen digitizer (Touch Screen Digitizer).
Are there 2 different glasses on the Xperia Play? or what's the purpose of the glass appearing on the first link?
Then I found this manual (Installing-Sony-Xperia-Play-Digitizer/7593/4) where they say we need to use a heat gun to remove the glass from the frame. Is that heat gun really required and do we need to glue the glass back to the frame? Any idea which glue could I use for that?
Many thanks in advance. Looking forward to trying my 1st repair...
I think I'm right on this, the housing is just that, the housing. The "glass thats on there is only meant to protect the digitizer. which is the thing that reads where your fingers are.
I understand even less now. I've been scratching my broken glass to see if what I had broken was the glass that appears to be part of the housing in the 1st link or the digitizer, and I'd say that it's the digitizer and there's no any other kind of glass that belongs to the frame!
I'm starting to think that the 1st picture on ebay is kind of misleading and that glass that appears there doesn't really exist?
I'd like to know where I can get the glue also.

I sold a touch screen digitizer some time ago on eBay. I have seen them for around $30 and yes from what I have seen the housing is just the bordering around Tue touch screen digitizer. I would try searching eBay for that. The one I had I bought from hing Kong and it worked jsmust fine.

Ah ok, thank you. The picture of the housing is not very good then as it seems that it's got a glass that goes on top of the digitizer...
Did you replace the screen as well? Any suggestion about a good product I could use to glue it back to the frame?

Be advised the digitizer is glued to the screen bordering. I do not know what glue it is. Sorry.

Hi,
Have never had much luck replacing the digitizer only, mainly due to the fact that the LCD is bonded to the digitizer and by replacing the digitizer only I have found that you can get dust between glass and LCD. If this doesnt bother you I've found that any instant adhesive is ok but use the smallest amount in the corners and in the middle of the longest edge - again dont use too much or it will run under the glass when you press edges down and will be visible. I have found it is best to buy a LCD/Digitizer combo with a midframe which comes with new 3M adhesive but you may need to use instant adhesive as the digitizer can separate from the frame later

My touch screen got broke..Do I have to replace digitizer or Touch Screen Outer Glas?

Recently met with an accident and my phone's touchscreen has broke(shattered).... but everything seems to be working fine! Only the glass has shattered!
So thought the digitizer has broke and let me change the digitizer by myself and was surfing to buy that digitizer! then only got to know that they dont sell digitizers alone for LG(but HTC does!).
Was seeing aliexpress and got to know about this (Touch Screen Outer Glass) I've enclosed the screenshot of this product.
So can you please suggest whether i should replace digitizer or this outer glass?!
I thought in many cases the touchscreen digitizer is bonded to the LCD.
It might be difficult to remove the touchscreen from the LCD to install your new touchscreen.

Broken glass

Hi,
I dropped my HTC 10 and smashed the glass top layer. The digitiser and lcd screen are still perfect.
I want to try replace the glass myself but I am wondering if I can buy just the glass, the glass and digitiser, or if I have to buy the glass, digitiser and lcd screen in one enclosure.
I looked on ebay and found a screen and digitiser enclosure and messaged the seller asking if it included the glass. He said no.
Can someone point me in the direction of the part(s) I need, please? Whether it's the glass and digitiser, or the full enclosure.
Thanks.
