Yes, You require an unlocked bootloader. Format system and data partition, flash the ROM, wipe cache and dalvik, done!

You must root after unlocking. And install CWM recovery or some another. Then you put rom on your sdcard, do nandroid backup and wipe everything (format system, factory reset, format cache) and then install from zip. Everything through recovery. And for root, do it from some tutorial on xda and flash recovery too.

[Q] Do I need to wipe preload before flashing AOKP/CM?

I am currently on T-Mobile JB stock obtained from Kies. I then odined TWRP 2.5 and rooted. Now when I wipe data/factory reset in TWRP before flashing AOKP/CM do I also need to wipe preload? I made two backups in TWRP: One with preload and one without.

Once the device is unlocked (if yours is able) you will lose warranty and cannot restore bootloader to default.

Have you tried booting to recovery and wiping data from there?
Even on official ROM there should be a basic recovery available for wiping data
You won't be able to move to the Chinese ROM from global ROM with a locked bootloader as far as I know
Yes idid that its didnt help
Still the same
