I tried 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 and they both do the same thing. Whenever I am in Airplane mode wifi will not turn on. I press the button and it just freezes in the on position and then nothing happens. Never had this problem on any other rom. Any Suggestions?

Does that only apply to EB13? DK28 and DI18 never had this problem. The only reason I ask is because I live in an area where I get no service and my battery drains 3x as fast if I dont have Airplane mode on.

I never tested it much in previous versions, but I can confirm it occurs across EB13. The setting is tweakable at a low level - and I question why Samsung didn't include it in Settings, and why even Spare Parts doesn't tweak it.

Thanks for the feedback k0nane, Im overseas right now so anything but airplane mode is an instant battery drain if I want to use Wifi. I figured this was Samsung's fault now I know. Here's to hoping EC05 fixes it, though I have my doubts.
Given that your aware of it, do you think it is something you guys (the awesome Devs) will be able to fix with time?

Yes. Thereotically, it's as simple as a settings.db change - I'm looking at it for 1.1.0.

Cool, Your my hero! Thanks again for your awesome work.
You might be able to toggle it under the testing mode (dial settings).
if I remember correctly it is something like:
#*INFO##4444# might be able to shut off all cellular connections, but still keep wifi and gps open.

That would be absolutely perfect. This is the only problem I am having with your Rom. If its fixed I will definately donate to the cause. Your Rom is by far the smoothest, fastest one out.

This did seem to work, the correct code is *#INFO*1111#
Under the Phone info menu I turned off the radio. Now I can be out of airplane mode but don't seem to be losing any battery to cell standby, only display and phone idle.
Thanks for the suggestion, this will get me by for the week. Im out of thanks for the day but I owe you one =)
Edit: Thanked you properly
Similar Issue
Im having a similar issue with this Rom.
Thats if were both talking about Syndicate Frozen Rom.
I have version 1.1.0 (newest)
My problem is that my wifi is not working it times out and never enables itself.
Another problem im having is I like the stock clocks app and the memo but cant seem to figure out how to re-install them.
Ive looked all over the forum and nobodys strategies are working for me.
Please give me advice on whats the best option that works for most people on how to re-install these apps.
Wifi is a constant love to have on my phone, i need it working like ASAP, please help.
I'm using flashplayer(stock-browser) and mplayer to listen to radio streams but after 5 minutes of joy the stream drops.
How can i fix this?
Is the tablet going in suspended mode or is the screen staying on? If the screen goes off, the device will stop apps from consuming battery by continuing to run.
Also note that it doesn't go into full suspend as soon as the screen turns off; it might be a couple of minutes later.
No the screen stays on.I will try an app that doesn't put the tablet in suspend mode.
Non succesfull sometimes 3 min. or 5 then i got kicked again.
Today jwplayer on a random website was on my list to test.
Max 3 minutes then the vid stream stopped again.
Anyone else having problems with streaming audio and vids on this tablet?
Could it be a Honeycomb/Android bug ?
I have had some odd issues with the Wifi deciding to drop and reconnect. It caused stuff like you are seeing.
Im guessing the fix is going to be a patch. The work around I used that has so far eliminated the issue was just just change from DHCP to Static for that Wifi connection after connecting.
No idea if this will relate to what you are experiencing without more information. Its an easy thing to try however.

What version OS are you running? I recently updated mine to 2.007.04_com_gen1. That took care of alot of the software issues I was having. Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18493425 and check out the update packages.
EDIT: Sorry, nor OS version but ROM version.
ummmmm............ could you repeat that?

What does GB stand for in 2.007.04_EMEA_GB? Is it a gingerbread rom? Or just made to look like gingerbread?

I know I had a problem with WIFI dropping every few minutes and disconnecting/reconnecting all the time. Causing streaming issues, internet issues and freeze issues if on lockscreen. Well, I have fixed this for myself and wanted to share.
To insure this doesn't happen, just follow these steps:
1. Dial *#0011#
2. Hit the left menu softkey to bring up the menu, and select 'Wifi'
3. Turn OFF the 'Wifi Power Saving'
4. Exit, and Reboot.
Ever since then, I haven't had issues. I am on AT&T GS3. If you are having this issue, please report back here with your model and if this fix worked.
Just trying to help. Good day all!
I'm not entirely certain this was happening, but had noticed some oddities. Not as bad as your experience, however.
But I did make the change to see how it would affect battery life. I am on the Sprint network.

I don't have issues at home but I do with the WiFi at work so I'll try it tomorrow and let you know how it works out. It disconnects and reconnects every 5 seconds and I'm not exaggerating either.
I think the WAP may be a little wonky but my HTC Desire HD had no problem with it.
Mine turned back on after reboot as well.

I am working through logcats as well. I reverted the setting to mimic the problem, and I am going to look at logcats.
If I can see what is exactly triggering it, I will make a flashable fix.
In the meantime, I have another S3 here that I have the power save off on and I still haven't seen a drop yet. So preliminary, I think this is a temporary fix until I can find out root problem.
Hope you find a fix

I have a similar problem. Mine doesn't disconnect per-se, however I did notice while browsing through Flipboard that I wasn't getting any signal sometimes when trying to access a page with a lot of content. Page loading came to a stop. Backed out several times and retried until I finally gave up. This was on my home wifi. I'll try your work-around for a few days. T-Mobile version.
EDIT: This may be just a FlipBoard quirk.
I will try this when I get home. I have a problem on my Sprint SGS3 where it stays connected to wifi but the internet won't actually work (can't browse internet, use play store or youtube, etc). Wifi never sleeps, it's always on. It never disconnects from the network, it just stops receiving and sending data. So we'll see if this does anything for it.
you guys dont have an issue where the display doesnt timeout after turning off the power save?
display won't time out from turning off the wifi power save. Totally unrelated. I am trying to mimic the problem right now.
If anyone is having the issues of the reconnnecting every few seconds and can logcat it for me, PM me please. I can't seem to mimic the problem since the fix.

Turning off power save does indeed fix the WiFi issue at work. As posted before, restarting the phone turns power save back on and the problem is back.

PM sent.
Going through multiple logcats now.
I am seeing even with power saving on though, the problem is still there. It is still disconnecting from WIFI and going back to the data network.
I am sifting through ALOT of code, as some of these log cats are extremely long.
Give me til tonight and I should have a reason at least to why it's doing it by comparing on vs off on powersave.
I have a request, anyone WITHOUT this issue, can you send me a logcat with your WIFI turned on?

Thanks for this. I was about to return the phone because I kept losing ability to connect to any WAPs after sleep mode kicked in. Mine is a Verizon S3.
I've seen this as well. Almost always after deep sleep. Most of the time I have to cycle Wifi to get it connected again every so once in awhile it will connect again on its own. Regardless of the settings that I put in "advanced" under wifi it will do this. Even if I have it set to keep alive never, always or plugged in it doesn't matter.
I still need a logcat from someone NOT having these issues.
Right now from looking through over 10 logcats, I am seeing that it's usually happening on routers that are encrypted with WEP and WPA, unfortunately the 2 most popular forms of wireless security.
That being said, users that are on 'open' networks do not seem to be losing access.
2 things.
1. Can someone PM me a logcat of them successfully connecting to wifi and NOT having drops. I don't care how long the logcat is.
2. When you post about your problems, please tell me what carrier and what type of encryption is being used on the router (if any)
I have been comparing and in each instance, WIFI is going into sleep, turning on data, and then having a problem turning back on.
I think it's an attempt to save power, but only it is not because switching from WIFI to data back to WIFI so much is a real drainer.
Still working on maybe disabling the power save by using a init.d script, to prevent power save mode from coming back on when rebooted, because I know alot of users are saying after disabling it, it is just reapplying on reboot.
BACK TO LOGCATS FOR ME. :/

Hello,
After updating from CM9 to CM10 I started facing wifi issue. My phone works normally for 1-3 days, and then wifi stops working. If I go to wifi settings, it says "Searching for Wi-Fi Networks". Also, wifi cannot be turned off. After reboot wifi operates normally for some time until this glitch happens again.
I thought it was CM-related issue, but some people say they have faced this issue even with stock JB.
Do you have this issue? How can it be fixed?

No idea on how to fix it, i have it too.
It's not happening too frequently to bother me.
Is there ; Support connect to wireless network by QSS (Quick Security Setup)??
for this build patch?
I have this exact same problem on CM10. I did a full wipe and the problem remains
I will keep searching for a solution, but I really hope someone can tell us more information as to what the cause might be.

Hello All,
Could anyone please confirm if they are experiencing the same behavior after Nougat 4.0.2 update?
Whenever i turn Hotspot ON and turn the screen OFF, the hotspot turns OFF automatically after few minutes. Tested with both Stock and Boeffla kernel.
I think it turns off automatically when no users are connected to it. I have seen that setting somewhere, can't remember it.
Hope it helps. Thanks
My Gf's device was connected when this happened. I'm not sure why. I will research if there is any setting for it.
Mine does too, I have a device in my car that I use the Hotspot for and I know its connected and on my phone it turns it off after a few min, so yes same issues, haven't found a fix for it except Turing it back on and seems to work
Maybe if someone can read the whole build prop may find something related to it.
I saw a lot of network and camera and all stuff in build prop for random things.
Happens on 3t as well.

And that is exactly why i don't use it. I don't need those tweaks at the risk of any compatibility issue or even a minor stability risk. Stock ROM is already rocking so why to even bother a new rom. But the stock kernel has no features, so i flash custom kernel sometimes but i usually stay fully stock.
Try disabling aggressive dose option from settings>battery. My hotspot is now not turning off.
no it has it automatically turns off b/c of Connected Device Manager, there is no way around it that i could find, i use tasker and to re-enable after 5 min, if u use a security key there may be an issue with the device not showing its connected so it disables after 5 minutes
After disabling aggressive dose not a single issue with hotspot turn off for me.
have the oneplus 3t and upgraded to 7.0
oneplus support is suggesting downgrading to Marshmallow but your phone will be reset to scratch.....noticed that the connected device list has to show the phone, laptop, etc. If not, the hotspot will turn off automatically. To bypass it, you have to go into the Set up wifi hotspot option and change name password and AP Bands sometimes for the device to populate in the list of connected devices. Or you can have it open without a WPA key.
This is the only options that worked for me after trying all the others from hard reset, aggressive mode, sleep mode, etc. I really don't want to hard reset and downgrade to Marshmallow.
It doesn't remember my same devices and i always have to change the settings so i leave the WPA off sometimes. You can always disconnect a device if you noticed somebody else trying to use the hotspot.

If I don't want to turn it off, maybe I only put hotspot app into whitelist.
But the quesition is, which application I should exclude? Haven't found anything like yet.
