[Q] Black screen, no USB debugging - HTC One X

Hello everyone,
I hope someone can help me with this.
My uncle brought me the HTC One X yesterday and it didn't run at all. So I charged it whole night and it showed glimpses of life this morning. However the screen is black, there are sounds and I see touch buttons flashing. I don't know if there is lock screen at all, and probably USB debugging is not activated. Yet there is no HTC service shops or something like that so I'm on my own. I've looked everywhere and it seems nothing helps.
P.S. there are probably some grammar mistakes but hopefully you can forgive me.
Thanks!
Edit:
When I connect my mobile phone to computer via USB cable and HTC Sync Manager pops out it says that my phone is locked and I need to unlock it.

Remove Sim
If there is a sim inserted in the tray, remove it.
Charge it for about 3 hours, hold down the power button and volume down for about 10-15 seconds.
If you could get into fastboot then its definitely a problem with the OS. (Locked may be).
Im not quite sure of it. But you could try.

[Q] Help!! a100 Blackscreen

i have a a100 with the latest flexreaper rom installed and im stuck with a pretty serious issue:
a couple of days ago the tab was acting real slow and sluggish and getting bad battery life didnt think nothing of it so i just rebooted a couple times and left it alone . all was good untill the battery hit 10% and i plugged it up using the factory ac adapter. the next day (maybe 6-7 hours later) i went to turn it on and nothing no vibrate no screen flash nothing; other than the power button turning blue as i pressed it and it would stay on for a couple hours but still no other response from the tablet.
im at my wits end on what could be wrong and now i got my wife with her foot on my neck till i get it fixed. can anyone help me?
ive tried to do a hard reset with the reset button tried to boot into recovery /bootloader no dice
(also my home button flashed a couple time i pressed the power button) dont know if its relevant but wanna get as much info out as possible
wondering if anyone can help me...

It may take awhile for someone to see this and form something to try, random bricking for no reason is rare, its almost always some error by the user. However have you attempted adb connection to it? Leave it powered off, connect to the PC you used to unlock the boot loader then power on. Does the PC make the USB connect sound? Does the Acer vibrate? Did the home key blink again?
It really sounds like your boot partition is wrecked which wouldn't normally happen outside of flashing. If boot loader is trash then it won't know what to do and just sit there. No recovery or anything else.

it made something like the connect sound but instead of the regular duh doom sound it did a dadadoom (kinda hard to describe the sound) but it was faster than ive ever heard the connect sound before which is weird. the tab didnt vibrate and it seems the home button blinks when the tab is dead and needs recharged

Yeah I know that sound it means USB connected but error for some reason. Its been shown if this thing dies all the way down it wont read the battery correctly and probably needs to be sent in. Before that I personally would unplug it open it up and remove the battery for awhile, maybe an hour then put it back and plug it in. But thats me, not the advice I'm giving. If you have warantee on it use that.
The batteries on a lot of devices and laptops etc have something of a fail safe, if the voltage drops below a certain point it trips to prevent cell damage, however it renders the battery useless.
I haven't searched out much past that if a reset is possible by us, but it seems the pack is trash after or needs sent in.
Since this is a sealed unit you void warranty opening it (well unlocking the boot loader did too) so you can't send it in for repairs without paying for it.
I hope someone can jump in and help figure this out, and prove me wrong.

Weird, This exact same thing happened to me. Used it in the morning and now after work it won't turn on. I had already tried disconnecting the battery, but hadn't thought to leave it disconnected for an hour. My tablet has been running the leaked ICS since it came out and The last factory reset it had was about a month ago. It was working fine up until this. The power button seems to be responding correctly, the issue is that after the LEDs light up, there is no vibration or display. I hope someone can help us with this issue.
EDIT:
It won't connect in ADB mode. It will only appear on my computer as an APX device and since there is no vibration I am unable to boot into fastboot. Any help or suggestions? All the threads I have found have involved booting into fastboot.

I plugged to the charger and this morning I tried to turning it on but it failed. I did the reset pin but nothing. I connected to the computer and it was recognized as a APX device and installed a driver ACER Picasso USB recover but i cant access anything. I am a nob. Thanks

Having the exactly same issue, here...
I also tried to hit the hardware reset button and it does not help.
If the screen is blank while powered on its in failsafe mode, in other words is bricked, has to go to Acer.

This just happened to me a few weeks ago as well. If you are still under warranty send it in to Acer, thats what I did. I just got an email saying they had fixed it and were sending it back for free!!
At the time I was on the 9/02 JB build. I wonder if this issue is caused by faulty hardware or if it is an issue that was made by rooting and unlocking it? I don't know enough about this stuff to answer that though, but it does make me think whether I should root/unlock it when I get it back or leave it stock.
Also thanks Pio_masaki for helping me a few weeks back wasn't sure if I was even going to send it in until you said they most likely won't be able to tell.
I highly doubt they even CARE when sending these in. They will void for physical damage most likely.

[Q] USB issues - not charging - can't get into fastboot mode

Hello everyone,
having major USB issues on my GNex. It's not charging anymore, but when the phone is off, it displays a charging animation. I could get it to charge once since this occurred, I left it plugged in overnight on my Mac (phone turned off). Did the same thing last night, no charge at all.
Mac OSX does not recognize the device, my Windows machine keeps telling me something like "the connected device is not working properly and can't be used... ". This message pops up every few seconds, so I guess it's constantly connecting and disconnecting. I can't access the internal storage on both systems.
My first guess was a hardware defect. But when I try to boot into recovery mode, a screen instantly pops up that shows Andy and displays a message: "Downloading. Do not turn off target.". In the upper left corner it displays " ODIN MODE" in small red letters.
When I press the power button in this screen (there is a big arrow pointing to the button with "start" written in it) the phone just normally reboots.
I can't get into fastboot mode because of this. I can get into CWM Recovery when i use the reboot into recovery option built in the ROM.
I dunno much about Odin (next to nothing). Has it something to do with Samsungs Kies? Could it be that something has put my phone in this "ODIN MODE" and it constantly tries to download something, making the USB port unusable? The port is not completely broken, as the phone displays a charging animation when it's turned off... so there is some connectivity left!
Thoughts coming up that this could be some kind of software issue. If there is a possibility to get out of the Odin Mode, it may solve the problem.
The phone is unlocked and rooted, running AOKP Milestone 5 and franco kernel.
I tried to restore an older nandroid, but it did not change anything.
Would send it in for exchange, but not able to relock the bootloader due to no fastboot access. If it can be confirmed that this is a hardware problem, I have to pay for the repair, I'm fine with that.
Has anybody any ideas that could be helpful? Any help is much appreciated, thank you in advance!
Do a search and you will find at least 30 helpful threads. Basically you only need to replace your USB charging board and it works again. Should be a warranty issue, but Samsung has really been an ass on handling this issue lately and claiming water damage.
I have mentioned it many times here: this problem can be probably solved by thoroughly cleaning your USB with soft toothbrush.
True, I also cleaned my port but it only fixed it temporarily.
Thanks guys. Tried to clean the port, nothing changed.
Ordered an OEM charging board off ebay, hope changing it will fix the issue.
Only thing I'm wondering about is, that the phone is stuck in Odin Mode when I boot it up with Vol. - and the Power Switch. So I downloaded Odin but it does not recognize the phone...
I am also facing the same problem. I am currently using the phone by charging the battery externally. Can someone confirm that changing the USB flex cable is the solution ?
Just posted in another thread but it is definitely the USB port for me. Using an HTC Vision (Google g2)

[Q] help: HOX in APX while dead

Hey guys
I have obviously an HTC One X, that started freezing all of a sudden and stopped charging, it even froze in the bootloader menu, then the screen turned off and I don't know what exactly the problem is, I tried everything I saw in every google page I found, and nothing helped, I took it to HTC and they had their all time favorite answer: "you have to change the motherboard", I am still not convinced of that.
anyway, that's not why I am here, the details are, the phone is not rooted, in the same state as when I got it, but with the last stock update that they released, when I connect it to the pc, the pc makes a sound and says that device is not recognized, until couple of minutes ago when I connected it, it's showing in device manager as APX, that's why I am posting.....
the screen is off,and I don't know even if the phone is off or on, and no led indicator that it's charging...
is there a possibility to fix it or is it gone for good?
before I go, yes I tried turning it off and on and every possible combination out there, under a bright light, in the fridge(kidding) still the same thing, but when I press the power button for more than 10 seconds while connected to pc, the pc makes disconnect/connect sound.
thanks for the help and sorry for the long talk.

HTC One X with black screen but working charging LED, Softbuttons and MTP Access

Hi everyone,
first off, I've spend days now trying to find a fix. If I've missed anything, I'm sorry, it wasn't for lack of trying.
Here's the situation: I have acquired an HTC One X earlier this year which has worked quite flawlessly. I went ahead and unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom recovery. However, since I handed the phone off to my not-so-techy sister I did not use a custom ROM, and after the HTC update failed with the custom recovery I reversed that as well. The device should now be stock everything with unlocked bootloader.
After a few months my sister encountered heavy problems, though. She described them as battery related (wouldn't turn on correctly) and eventually she moved to a new phone. Now I have gotten the device back and I am trying to fix it. After charging it I managed to have it boot once. However, I but it to the side and wanted it to load some more. Ever since then the screen doesn't come on. The charging LED seems to work fine (eventually switched from red to green, too, indicating that the device is fully charged) and the button backlight still works, too. Most significantly though, the device is recognized as MTP device in Windows: I can access all the data in the storage without problems.
I have read that there is an issue with the HTC One X and the display connector so eventually I went ahead and took the device apart. It's lying in front of me now in pieces, but I still couldn't get the screen to come alive. The obvious conclusion would be to buy a new screen but the device doesn't feel like it's worth the investment. Besides, I would like to know for sure that it's the screen before I do anything.
So I turn to you guys and ask if you have any idea how I could access the phone via my computer. I tried to boot it up in bootloader mode but due to the strange standby methods HTC is using and not seeing anything on the screen I haven't been able to do that yet: Whenever I connect my USB cable it's recognized as MTP device, not ADB. Debugging seems to be deactivated so that doesn't seem to be an option. Does anyone have any idea how I could get the phone to talk to my computer (i.e. get into the bootloader or ADB screencast for sure)? With my Galaxy S I could simply plug in this dummy micro USB and would be sure to end up in download mode.
Any help is appreciated!
tl;dr: HTC One X screen is dead but LEDs work, is recognized as MTP device. How to make it talk to the computer?
Thanks,
rien
Alright, sometimes just posting stuff like this helps already. I was now finally able to get the phone into fastboot (apparently) and it's reacting to the fastboot commands. I suppose the next step is to load CWM and connect via adb. This way I can at least do a factory reset.
Does anyone have any ideas regarding the original issue with the screen? Especially since it does seem to work occasionally. And doesn't show any fragments...
Can I enable USB debug mode from within the recovery to work in the system?

[Q] battery drained, Desire EYE wont charge and/or turn ON

Well this is my situation:
I bought a broken screen and broken digitalizer HTC Desire EYE with AT&T stock rom 4.4.4 lolipop
While waiting for the screen + digitalizer replacement, i decided to try ADB commands to remotelly access the cell from the PC.
When first time i turned ON the cell, it worked ok, all sounds of android OS could be heard and worked ok, and even HTC Sync showd up and i could even access the internal and external memory of the phone.
Then i tried to boot into fastboot with low battery levels, i rebooted in fastboot and my PC detected the drivers for such...
then since i was on blind cause the screen was broken, i clicked on I was supposing was recover (i needed to enter on recovery so i could run an ADB commands to activate USB debugging from recovery, so i also later have access to remote screen of the phone from the PC)
So, i clicked on blind thinking i was on recovery and after that the phone didnt charge any longer the battery or turned ON.... i connected the phone to the wall charger and not even the RED LED light of the battery turns ON anymore.
I tried all the options: 1) volume +, power
2) volume +, volume -, power
3) volume -, power (for over 20 secs) and nothing, im like lost here?
I also tried plugging the USB to the PC and that doesnt even work, nor the PC do any sound when a new device is connected, so its like the phone is completely dead.... any help is more than welcome
come on, no one? damn, im blind while waiting for the freaking chinnese screen replacemente... since i cant do crap... i started a wall charger for 4 days, lets see if this turns on at least the red light, which by the moment it doesnt... will keep updating this thread regarding the status and situation in the couple of days.
i'm having the same problem right now with my HTC desire and i just bought it in July brand new from AT&T. I was wondering if it ever turned back on for you?

Check for dust or other dirt in your charging port, then use a toothpick to get it out, this fixed it for me.
Bumping because I have a similar issue and don't want to make a new thread.
My screen is fine, but the LED is off, plugging it in does nothing, and it wont turn on. Worked fine last night, it was in low power mode (on CM 14), I shut it off and plugged it in. Now, the next day, it's dead.
