[Q] Flashing of any JB ROM fails

Hey wonderful people of XDA,
I picked up an S3 yesterday and rooted it no problem. I can install ICS roms fine, but CWM errors out when trying to flash a JB rom (I have included a pic to show exactly what I mean)
It is a Telus S3, but from what I've experienced before with rooting, AT&T should work as well. However, correct me if I am wrong.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Read that. It talks about error 7, although they said they fixed it. The first time I tried to flash AOKP that happened and I just rewiped everything and tried again and it worked.

I had same problem I just updates to 5.8.4.7 and it worked fine, make sure to fully wipe

How did you do the update? None of the S3's are in ROM Manager...

AT&T GS3 in on ROM Manager...also this link has CWM zips you can flash for cwm 5.8.4.5. Post #558 to be exact..

Cant remove Yellow Triangle on Wild for the night???

Hey guys,
I flashed to CM 10.1 4.2.2 Wild for the Night and I cant reset the Odin counter. I have Triangle away (even bought the Paid version) and still nothing. Is Triangle Away suppose to auto reboot ur cell when u select the reset button? Bc mine never does. Odin counter is at 3

Epic 4g Touch d710
4.2.2
Baseband verision S710.10.S.FB15
KERNEL [email protected] #1 sUN aUG 4 09:33:59 bst
Build Number Cm D710ETC.........
I have CWM recovery...
My stock specs were

Are my new specs ok or am I stuck with the Triangle? thanks

ALL questions and help go in Q&A, this is not development. And yes it is supposed to auto reboot.

Have you tried flashing back to stock and resetting it? Might be a conflict with WFTN?

I believe it has something to do with the kernel cm10.1 uses. I bought a jig to plug into the bottom of the device to remove the counter and it still doesn't work so the problem must be kernel based. For some reason the rom doesn't allow you to flash a new kernel either so underclocking and overclocking doesn't work either.

So the answer is to make a backup, flash back to stock and use Triangle Away, then restore your backup.

Haven't thought of that yet. Might try that tonight. Either way it's no big deal I got used to seeing it show up on boot. At least it doesn't say gti900

So I was just browsing through other Note 2 Forums and stumbled on this mod. I was bored so I figured.... ahh what the heck.
So I...
•Downloaded the zip (found in the linked OP)
•Created A Nandroid Backup (recommended but you can do as you wish)
•Flashed the zip via recovery (I'm using TWRP)
•Wiped Dalvik-Cache and Cache
•Reboot
Not sure if this was necessary but I did the following anyway...
•>Application Manager>com.sec.phone and cleared cache
•>Application Manager>Phone.apk and cleared cache
Used my daughters phone to test. Didn't work. I looked at the pic I had set for her. It was a crappy resolution.
So I picked one of the new pics I took of her. Boom! Full Screen Caller I.D
If it makes any difference I'm using 4.3 DN3 Rom (Ditto Note 3 Rom) from the ATT Roms Section.

Thanks I was tired of using a app for full screen. Question: you say you are running "Ditto Note 3 Rom for at&t. I am wondering did you lose any features with the rom since it was not designed to work with the t-mobile version?

Not really.. just didnt have wifi calling... but it has hella features

cool, I would like to try it out. was there anything special you had to do to get it running? like changing bootloaders ie? Also what version are you running?

Im using 4.1.2Bootloader .. just flashed the Rom (DN3 3.1.1) Let it boot.
Then went back and flashed Tmobile Modem/Radio and Devil Kernel (to get wifi working)
But now im using mattlowry's 4.4.2 TW Rom.

[Q] Boost S3 programing question

since i haven't activated my boost s3 yet can i install a custom rom and still activate/program later?

yes you can
sent from my GS3

You'll probably have to go back to at least stock based to activate later, FYI, in case you're going to flash AOSP/CM.

It's TW based, so you're fine to flash it before you activate. You just won't know that everything's working perfectly until you have voice/data, etc..

well i got the s3 a while ago but i still have my infuse and am gonna switch to boost with phone number on like the 2nd cause my month ends on the 3rd so i will be coming to the s3 forms soon as a member and want to learn what i can so i can also be of help but soon i will be a full member of the boost s3

ive had my S3 on boost for over a year and its great.i run miui rom and love it.miui is the best thing since flashing

You're making a good choice coming to the wicked x ROM. I've been running it since day one and its perfect (IMO)

personally i don't know what mode that is what is it your trying to do???? and don't be like this answer isn't helpful I'm only commenting to give my two cents and it would be nice to know more about what the s3 can do

dont worry
diag mode its the way to connect the device to software like dfs to setup 3g service and other things its working fine with stock roms but not woth CM11
thats all ... for my needs at least

Can't get into diag mode any more while on a CM build. Can only get diag mode on a touch wiz rom. Or stock

could it be cause its missing the hidden menu apk and the other apks and framework that make it possible to use those codes

From what I've read, it just plain requires TouchWiz and the TouchWiz dialer.
