Cant remove Yellow Triangle on Wild for the night??? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hey guys,
I flashed to CM 10.1 4.2.2 Wild for the Night and I cant reset the Odin counter. I have Triangle away (even bought the Paid version) and still nothing. Is Triangle Away suppose to auto reboot ur cell when u select the reset button? Bc mine never does. Odin counter is at 3
My Specs:
Epic 4g Touch d710
4.2.2
Baseband verision S710.10.S.FB15
KERNEL [email protected] #1 sUN aUG 4 09:33:59 bst
Build Number Cm D710ETC.........
I have CWM recovery...
My stock specs were
D710
4.1.2
GB28
Are my new specs ok or am I stuck with the Triangle? thanks

ALL questions and help go in Q&A, this is not development. And yes it is supposed to auto reboot.

Have you tried flashing back to stock and resetting it? Might be a conflict with WFTN?

I believe it has something to do with the kernel cm10.1 uses. I bought a jig to plug into the bottom of the device to remove the counter and it still doesn't work so the problem must be kernel based. For some reason the rom doesn't allow you to flash a new kernel either so underclocking and overclocking doesn't work either.

So the answer is to make a backup, flash back to stock and use Triangle Away, then restore your backup.

Haven't thought of that yet. Might try that tonight. Either way it's no big deal I got used to seeing it show up on boot. At least it doesn't say gti900

[Q] Where's this Phone At?

Ok so I just got this D710 Epic 4G touch. With some of the info I have read I'm guessing that it's kinda easy to brick these if you use the wrong method to flash a rom if it's before the source release & I'm not sure about where this phone is at. It has the Leaked(FF02) ICS Rom & Stock Recovery on it. I am not sure when this was released.
What I want to do is put phone on a good stable stock rom that everything works to get a good base & nandroid backup. Then I want to go to a good stable ICS or JB rom for my daily driver. Can I just Odin a OTA Stock Debloated Rooted Rom back it up then go from there?
Right now this phone's radio will turn off for a few seconds at times. This morning my phone rang so I answered it that's when the phone's radio turned off so that made me hang up on a Customer when I answered the Phone=NOT GOOD
I want/need something that fully works. Like the GPS works & the radio don't turn off n all that jazz.

A daily driver stock JB ROM will be leaked at some point today. Rooted versions also in the works. Keep an eye out for FK23 threads.
Also the radio problem looks like the eg30 radio. There was massive loss of signal on that one. Try something more updated. Like fi27 modem.

:good: Alright thank you guys.
So I can flash what ever rom I want using the one click odin method? Like this Stock rooted rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721229
I personally would look for fI27 but yes. And one click is always recommend if your not 100 percent sure of what your doing.

I plan to do this tomorrow, help please?

Hey guys, i would like to know how to pick the right kernel for a specific Rom.
My goal is to Root and flash my Galaxy nexus (4.3 Stock) Running on the Videotron.com Carrier (I would suppose its GSM, i have a simcard) with paranoid android, and franco kernel.
My questions are as follows,
1- Are Franco kernel and paranoid android compatible?
2- Will it really help me on Ram and Battery life.
3- Can someone please explain to me how to pick the right firmware, the right kernel, and google apps version.
This is my 3rd android phone, and i always needed help with this, but i would like to learn it myself. (i am not a pc noob, i just never played with phones)
This is my phone right now

By the way, i am willing to donate when it gets done.
1. You have to use the correct version of any kernel that matches your OS version. So if you are on 4.3 use any 4.3 kernel.
2. Custom kernels usually help with battery life but you will have to try many different kernels to see which is best for you.
3. Like I said in answer no. 1 everything should match the OS you are on. If you are on 4.3 then you will need to use a kernel that is for 4.3 and gapps that are for 4.3, if you on 4.2.2 then use 4.2.2 kernel/gapps.
PS- I am not sure what you mean by "donating when it gets done" but feel free to donate to our great devs

Hi,
I have a GNex from videotron. Rooted it 20 minutes after getting it from videotron store
Yes, it's a gsm. The model is maguro.
I was on paranoidandroid 3 weeks ago and it really cool.
You need to download their rom from the dev section. There is a link to download gapps in the same thread.
If you want to keep it simple, no need to flash any kernel. Stock PA kernel is fine.
Happy flashing

Well first of all I installed a custom rom (OmniRom 4.4) it had bugs cuz it's still new rom so I went back to stock after success installation I reboot my phone but the phone became a bell (I have rogers) so because it was late I thought I'll change the csc next day but early in the morning my brother installed the stock firmware again because of bloatwares well while he was installing he checked efs box and the repartition too
not 5 minutes after he waz done I saw what he did and since then I tried almost everything and looking everywhere I have even the twrp backup but the twrp can't find it becomes there is something wrong with internal memory
I installed titanium backup to restore my (tibu)
It did install nothing changed
I'm hopeless
Sorry for that spelling I'm using Taptalk lol
Can you use Odin to flash back to stock 100% and go from there? It looks like you definitely need to get back to stock firmware and your description is a little confusing as to what your brother did with...Odin?..that's a guess because you didn't state what he was doing exactly

How safe is triangle away?

I have an s3 that in download mode shows a flash count of 4 I am Knox free (thank god) I have checked out triangle away and it gives a warning of potential brick. I just curious if anyone has bricked resetting the flash count on their device.

Without the 4.3 OTA, it will perform magnificently. With KNOX, it'll hard brick via a corrupted bootloader. I've revived from a corrupted bootloader but it isn't fun or guaranteed. Enjoy the KNOX-free as long as possible.

Triangle Away only works on ICS bootloaders. Useless if you are on JB, it will start counting every time you enter in recovery.

Are you trying to sell the phone? I believe the warranty is over for this phone so I wouldnt worry about it unless it bothers you. If you decide to take the plunge read read and read Chainfires thread for that apk.

[Q] Need help. Wifi won't even toggle on.

Asking for help on the forums is usually my last result, I can assure you. I've been at it all day now and I keep coming across the same answers and the same n/a issues.
I'm going to make this as easy as possible with the hope that some one out there will be able to help me. Because I hit my data limit and I can't even download a simple app from the Google Play Store.
My Problem: Wifi will not toggle on
My Phone (The current state of the status bar makes me cringe as well. I literally JUST got done with a factory reset)

A quick run through
1. The phone was running 4.3 when I bought it. (wifi worked)
2. I decided to root using CF-Auto Root (wifi worked)
3. I updated to 4.4.2 using the Samsung Kies (breaking my root of course)
4. I re-rooted with CF-Auto Root and flashed the latest TWRP
5. A few days later, I turned on WiFi for the first time and it instantly switched itself back off.
I'm positive I flashed all the correct stuff. I do my research before voiding my warrenty.
(for 4.4.2, I flashed the latest CF-Auto-Root-jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.tar.md5 with Odin v3.09. Afterwards, openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-jfltetmo.tar)
Solutions I've tried:
-Reboot
-Took out the battery
-a few other little modifications I did in root explorer
-Factory reset
If you've any questions about what I've done or any suggestions for things to try, please let me know. I would like to avoid flashing a custom ROM for the time being.
Thank you in advance for any help!
You need to flash a different kernel. Then edit your build.prop and change.....

Thanks for the quick reply! Any Kernel suggestions for a stock 4.4.2 rom?
Edit: Or if I flashed your ROM, what kernel would you suggest?
