Hi all. I just got an Evo (upgraded from Hero) and can't figure out how to totally disable the weather animations. I've turned checked the "disable all window animations" under settings but when I unlock phone and the screen comes on I still get a brief weather animation. I've also tried removing the weather widget from my screen and re-adding it and unchecking the option that says "enable full screen animation."
SORRY FOUND ANSWER TO MY QUESTION ON MY OWN LOL. I had to disable weather animations in widget locker app.
Dunno know what I did, but all of a sudden, when I go to my home page, I get clouds floating across my screen. It's partly cloudy here, so I know the animation is related to the weather function on my phone. My settings show that all animations are off. I know at one time I turned this animation off, but I'm damned if I can remember how.
I use beautiful widgets and LaunchPro, if that helps. All settings for animations are off, but if I enable them in beautiful widgets, it makes the animation faster.
Please help me turn the damned animation off.
I SOLVED IT! I'm getting better at this troubleshooting thing!
See I forgot to mention that I used WidgetLocker, and therein lay the problem. Don't think I would have ever noticed it unless I had another problem that forced me to reinstall that app.
In Widget locker, there is a setting under Settings => Look&Feel. All the way at the bottom is a drop list for (get this)HTC weather animations. I clicked on disabled, and my problem went away.
Gaah! It's always the simple solutions that are sooooooo hard to find.
Turning off Weather Animations
The other method is to hold and drag your home screen Weather Widget to delete it, then add it back in and uncheck the weather animations box.
This might not be the best method for people that have a lot of weather cities saved.

So I learned that it's not possible to ad custom widgets to the lockscreen, but I read somewhere that there should be a default weather widget that shows there. How do I set it up? I can only see the time, I've been looking everywhere in the phone but I don't see the option...
You have to open the weather widget and let it grab your current location and then it will load on your lock screen.

Ok got it, thanks! Pretty basic features though, I wish the lockscreen would accept some other widgets... The default weather widget doesn't even give you more info when you tap it in the lock screen.

Did you enable it in Settings | Device | Lockscreen | Show information | Weather?

Yes. Enabled it and tried different combinations of disabling clock, dual clock, pedometer, etc and still nothing.

I don't know if it matters, but I did notice there are 2 different weather widgets that you can select, I selected the second one in the list that looks like this.
I am guessing it shouldn't matter? But I have no idea why it is not working for you.

Weird, ok I just cleared my weather data, no longer showed temp on my lock screen. Added the first widget to my Nova launcher main screen, and turned on location I have high accuracy set and Location History turned on. The widget says tap to add city, I tap it then get a dialog to use current location i click agree and it tries to find my location. I select my current location from the list. Go to my lockscreen and the Temp is there.

So I got it to work by doing a factory reset. I was not looking forward to repositioning all the apps I had.

Glitch
I'm pretty sure that the AT&T stock version of Android 5.0.1 has a bug with this LockScreen feature. It sometimes works on my lock-screen, but in no way I can access any settings of it in the Show Info - Weather section. I'm using Nova launcher, but the lock-screen is an Android feature, it shouldn't conflict each-other.
Anyone found a solution other than a full factory reset?
The problem with the lockscreen weather is that you can only update it at 1 hour intervals as a minimum. That's way too slow. 30 minutes is max for me for weather updates. 15 minutes would be better.
I enabled all weather animations on the lock screen but my lock screen says its raining and its not raining. Is there a way to check and see if maybe the geolocation is correct

Mine has been doing the same thing for about a week. Have just now started searching for a solution.....
Found this over at Android Central: From TurkXtreme:
Go to settings then lockscreen and then check widgets box. (show widgets on lockscreen)
then go to lockscreen and pull down the screen.and then push the screen right and add widget and choose weather. after do all you will see its working. thats all.
Worked for me!

I've been having a problem with the lock screen weather clock. Whenever I manually set a location for the weather app, which I do because I don't like turning on location services, the weather clock on the lock screen says there's no weather information. Yet it works fine if I do turn on location services. Is there any way I can get the lock screen weather widget to show my manual set location?

That's how that widget is made. U cannot select the location.
U could ask a dev to tweak it, or just live with it.

Seems pants that you can select it on the home screen widget but not the lock screen one. So looks like its either living with location unavailable or using more battery with location services on.
