Using an unlock code is not risky at all. In fact using galaxsim unlock is riskier although I have used it with no issues at all. Galaxsim needs root access and don't forget to back up your EFS folder if you decide to use it.

Roll back to 4.1.1, unlock for free using instructions on here, then flash to 4.1.2.
You will need to carry out full EFS backup, then get Samsung usb drivers, and ODIN, download 4.1.1 stock image, flash, factory reset and clear cache, then carry out the unlock procedure found in these forums, then download and flash your choice of stock 4.1.2 rom, and bingo, unlocked and updated phone.

Thanks in advance. :good:
Is it possible yet to root the ATT Version of the Galaxy Tab S 10.5? I would really appreciate any and all information.
Nothing so far has been posted saying root is possible.
There are root and recovery solutions for all versions of this tablet. The only one that is out of luck is the t807v as it has a locked boot loader.

If the t807a has a locked boot loader then you're also out of luck at the moment.
I've read online that I need to unlock the boot loader on my tablet in order to download custom roms, however I can't seem to find out how to unlock the boot loader of my Galaxy Note 8.0. I've seen a lot of people download custom roms on their Note 8.0, and I've even seen people say that they've downloaded a custom rom on their Note 8.0 without even unlocking the boot loader.
So what I'm saying is, do I even need to unlock the boot loader to install a custom Rom on my Note 8.0 N5110, or do I, and if I do need to unlock the boot loader, then how? Thanks in advance.
Hello. I recently got my hands on a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy SIII. The phone is network locked and I need to unlock it. I already rooted the phone.
However I have not been successful in unlocking the SIM. There is a method posted here on XDA which tells you to use the menu by dialing *#197328640#. However it won't work on the versions after Android 4.1
I was wondering if anyone can share with me where I can download the stock or a custom ROM with Android 4.1 so that I can use this method to unlock the SIM.
If you know of any other methods that don't require me to pay third parties please share them with me.
Thank you.
If the phone is running a stock 4.3 or newer bootloader, you cannot use the free method to unlock the phone.

That's right. I was wondering if anyone could share with me a 4.1 bootloader because I wasn't successful in finding one.
You can't flash a 4.1 bootloader over a 4.3 or 4.4.2 bootloader. Trying will probably brick the phone.
Hi everyone.
I have honor 8 pro (DUK) which has locked bootloader and yes I know it is not possible (officially) to unlock it. I have read several threads which state that unlocking bootloader is not necessary to root your mobile. Ok that was interesting, so I have searched all alternative methods of rooting which does not require unlocking bootloader, but none of them helped.
Attempts I made:
1. Many guides show to root the device via twrp. Flashing twrp requires unlocking bootloader, so out of options.
2. Tried to flash the twrp image via adb command but i get the message 'Command not allowed'. The obvious reason could be the locked bootloader.
3 Tried with Kingoroot and King root, none of them helped.
4. Magisk is unable to flash the magisk.zip file (I don't know why) and hence unable to use magisk as well.
Any other methods to root my device. Please help me dear developers and members. I don't want any custom ROM, all I need is to root my device.
Thank You.
Following. After Huawei/Honor decided not to provide the bootloader unlocking. I do not think we can and now there is no development for this handset at all.
Yeah and its sad that we are stuck here.
