This Thread is to discuss about CyanogenMod 10.1 (4.2.2) for Ion.
Guys we don't want to see any mod around.
So keep the discussion on topic. And don't change this thread to official JellyBean discussion thread.
I hope you guys understand it.
Cheers

Anyway its a different dev.. I think we should request in that thread for ion
As far as a fxp build for cm10.1 is concerned.. They did mention that it'll be released wen Sony releases official jb.. So we need to wait at least for a month

Yahh. And we still can port it to ion. But must have special kernel for ion because XS and Ion have problem in kernel (sdcard issue). I tried some XS kernel on my Ion my self. Everything I tried can be flashed. But the problem occur when come to mounting part. So I think if someone make kernel from RaymanFX source then we can try it easily. Like the one make CM10.1 for for Acro S using same kernel source.

Yes the flashables are mostly cross compatible for these two devices... it would be pretty exciting to see one more rom for our device..if @ganeshbiyer could look into this am sure he can compile the kernel.
that said i guess we should move the discussion to another/new thread as this is off topic here.

Just compile a 4.2 kernel for ion. The rest should be slightly easier.

Yahh. Thats the things i cant do. I think i manage port it to ion. But it stuck with bootloop which occure because of kernel. Need someone who can do that for us. So that can do the rest of checking.

well, what i said on CM 10 thread was regarding official CM10.
I had owned an Xperia S, so i know that compared to it development on Ion is absolutely nothing.

Ohh. But if we have cm10 .1 then other developer can try to fix bug from it. Also people can port more cm based rom.

A CM Rom always helps devs to build other roms.
But FXP will not go for CM10.1 unless they have stable CM10.
May be some devs try to make unofficial CM10.1 for ion, like Mr RaymanFX did for Xperia S.

First we need stable kernel. So that other things can be checked.

How about porting the kernel from Xperia S? Since Ion and S has the same chipset and everything... just a thought.
I wish I had kernel development skills

Exactly. Recently I tried some XS kernel on my phone. I can flash the kernel and can see the kernel logo. But the problem is sdcard issue. In CWM I can't mount sdcard on those kernels. We need someone who can do that for us. I ask the one who created CM10.1 for XS to help us to port his kernel because Acro S user also use same kernel with modification. Now I am waiting for his reply.
I think no one is going to help us. So now I am installing Linux because I found a guide to compile kernel from source. But it is only working on Linux.

JB version for Ion is in testing phase just like the S so porting the kernel from S will not be needed.
I think when JB is released then the development for cm 10.1 could start. but I am not sure if there will be any development. but we have to see...
I'd love to run 10.1, I have at version so no custom ROMs for me.
I'd someone ever figured out how to unlock the att phones, I think development would explode.

Can you comment about the battery life on this combination?
Latest ICS MIUI from MaxWorks. It's the small things that make the difference. I always switch to other roms and always return.
When using Swapper2 with MIUI it makes up a bit for the lack of ram so everything I need for my daily use is perfect.

Which version of LegacyXperia have you tried before leaving it out ? The new nightlies are really better, no bug at all. Therefore, I haven't given a try to that app (snapchat)

I dont know what version it is but if you go this link http://legacyxperia.basketbuild.com/index.php?dir=main/cm10.1/anzu/ at the very bottom. That's where i downloaded it. It's a normal release i guess.
Is there any possibility that you could download Snapchat and see if you got the problem too? Because i haven't found anyone in the main thread that has a similar problem as me.

FXP did not work on CM10.1
FXP stopped at CM10
So if you're trying to boot your phone running CM10.1 on a CM10 kernel, it will never boot.

The kernel is the boot.img inside ROM.zip
Extract it from the zip file and flash it using fastboot.

I suppose you had installed 4.3 before. If yes, that's the problem. The baseband is different between 4.1 and 4.3. CM11 is based on 4.1. It will get updated in the next beta 4. Now, you either have to flash with CWM the 4.1 baseband (search the subforums) or flash 4.1, boot once and then flash CM11. Hope this helps
Edit: Beta 4 has been released, CM11 is merged with 4.3. Update and you should be fine
