Within 90 days after it officially comes out. Your bud is running a buggy beta version with none of the updated apps to go with it. Gpe should get it within a week of release.

Kit Kat is supposedly launching today along side the Nexus 5. Can't wait to see 4.4 Roms on the One. Lord knows if we DO get it from Verizon it'll be the day Android 5.0 launches. And Verizon will change the 5.0 to the Verizon V in the OS branding to end all branding.

Well. In all fairness. HTC may provide to update to all american carriers within 90 days. The carriers take it from there. Verizon could have it tomorrow but we still won't see it until march.

Ahhh! I didn't even think of the GPe...
Yes there are two versions of the HTC One M8, one running Android 4.4.2 with HTC's Sense 6 overlay and the other running Android 4.4.2 with the stock Google Now Launcher (basically looks like Android on the Nexus 5). As for which is better, some will say stock Android others will say Sense but with HTC making their apps available for the GPe it might be worth getting that and then adding the HTC apps you want
Thanks for the info all

Yep. We'll probably get a heck of a lot quicker via a ROM.
HTC has confirmed it will arrive on the M7 and M8 within 90 days of public release.
Developer preview coming tomorrow for Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 5.
Hoping to see this ported to M7

Perfect! Although I'm wondering if they're going to keep Sense how it is... Or redesign it to look more like the "stock" feel.
God knows touchwiz won't...

Well when you say "stock" it could mean many different things. "stock" htc rom is sense. "stock" google is AOSP.
but i know what you mean, that's why I'm glad buck still works on his AOSP rom. It's built really well for AOSP on the M7

GPE is nice, and its cool that @santod040 released 4.4.4.(props for being fast and first to do so) might have to try this. 4.4.4 runs great on my N7
As for the over heating, those that were on CM were getting the over heating problem and although CM is technically AOSP its still highly modified AOSP. All the AOSP roms we have, besides bucks, uses CM tree. So they all inherit the same problems.

Overheating? You mean people don't immediately put their phone in a freezer once they reach 100F?
Also, anyone know if there is a animation mod for slide down on home?

I think that sense 6 isn't that far off from the new material design of Android L. It's a similar look imo.

from this thread, i've gotten the new material keyboard and google now with everywhere hotword detection working.
i think android fonts causes my apps to FC. anybody else want to give this a shot and tell us what is and isn't working?

Yeah, it's still not the full source code for the 'L" platform though.
So it would take some hackery to make it work on the m7 and without "L" binaries and proprietaries for the m7, it wouldn't be all that functional, in my opinion.

release. This preview is not a full platform update and only for

Patiently Waiting
I've enjoyed experimenting with the current custom ROMS available now. Can't wait to see what comes about once Android L is officially out. Until then, I'll be patiently waiting.
Not Official
I have been using CyanogenMod 12, so it isn't "official" but I have enjoyed using it
Is there any talk about porting the Android L preview to the Note 3?
I wish
I don't think there is enough in the Android L preview to port at this stage...? From what I've read it's still too buggy to use. But I can't wait for October/November!! Sure we'll see functional stuff come out then
Sent from my GT-N7105 using XDA Free mobile app
I was looking to see if anyone talked about that happening. If not very usable, then at least something to play with for a few minutes.

They're not really planing on working on anything to release until the complete source drops. If we want to see it on the Note 3, then someone else has to work with that source for us. I tried building for a non Nexus device, but I never really figured it out.
Any way to get a dev to chime in?
Cm isn't planning on developing for the preview since they don't know how much the code will change by final release
There was someone here trying to port it but till now he was not able to. The way he explained it seems we have to wait for official release.

Hello World,
I don't like changing ROM too often. Mostly because I need to get all my stuff into the phone again. But I'll install the Android L rom as soon as possible. But now I don't have more space. So what do you guys think? Should I wait for an Android L ROM or update to Venom 3.0.1?
When will the first Android L rom come? 1 week? 1 month? I have honestly no idea. I can live with a month, but not more than that.
Ummm android l rom is out check it out on dev section
