Perfect! Although I'm wondering if they're going to keep Sense how it is... Or redesign it to look more like the "stock" feel.
God knows touchwiz won't...

Well when you say "stock" it could mean many different things. "stock" htc rom is sense. "stock" google is AOSP.
but i know what you mean, that's why I'm glad buck still works on his AOSP rom. It's built really well for AOSP on the M7

GPE is nice, and its cool that @santod040 released 4.4.4.(props for being fast and first to do so) might have to try this. 4.4.4 runs great on my N7
As for the over heating, those that were on CM were getting the over heating problem and although CM is technically AOSP its still highly modified AOSP. All the AOSP roms we have, besides bucks, uses CM tree. So they all inherit the same problems.

Overheating? You mean people don't immediately put their phone in a freezer once they reach 100F?
Also, anyone know if there is a animation mod for slide down on home?

I think that sense 6 isn't that far off from the new material design of Android L. It's a similar look imo.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2796019
from this thread, i've gotten the new material keyboard and google now with everywhere hotword detection working.
i think android fonts causes my apps to FC. anybody else want to give this a shot and tell us what is and isn't working?

Yeah, it's still not the full source code for the 'L" platform though.
So it would take some hackery to make it work on the m7 and without "L" binaries and proprietaries for the m7, it wouldn't be all that functional, in my opinion.

Patiently Waiting
I've enjoyed experimenting with the current custom ROMS available now. Can't wait to see what comes about once Android L is officially out. Until then, I'll be patiently waiting.

Not Official
I have been using CyanogenMod 12, so it isn't "official" but I have enjoyed using it

What's going to be new in cm7.3?
My guess is jellybean animations.
Few more devices.
Raft of new bug fixes.
Anything else?
Or just forget cm7.3 and use evolve jellybean?

There is no cm7.3 but cyanogenmod already announced cm7.x will carry on at a slower rate of development.
Just wondering where it will lead to.

As long as automatic keystroke logs can be read by every application, I personally prefer rather to wait for CM 7.3 than to install CM 7.2
Have a look at this:
code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=4735
When I stumbled over this, I couldn't believe it
They didnt changed anything in the nightly builds since 9 weeks (18th Nov).... looks like they stop developing and 7.3 only will become a big Bugfix-Release.
edit: http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#bravo/cm7/1353824529
I would love CM10 on Desire, but they dont make it
I have VJ's CM10-ROM (Android 4.1.2, V3.0), whichs is really nice (beside a few minor bugs).
My phone is much smoother and faster with CM10.... i really cant understand why they dont bring CM10 for Desire
maybe android 4 is best choice.
maybe cm7.2 is last release for 7.x.
so..

So, a link would be nice... as far as I know they dropped because of the hardware limitation of the Snapdrogen Gen. 1.
But its proven that CM10(.1) works well.

I have to agree with cm for dropping support.
The general hackiness has always kept me away from jb/cm10 I gave up after 2 weeks as games and the system in general are slower.
For example try jetpack joyride in gb then try it in jb/cm10.

I'll just keep mine or upgrade to the 32GB TMO version when it comes out. I'm guessing its the US Snapdragon version (compatible w/ AT&T & TMO) & we should be able to install it on ours w/o any issues. I'm all guessing here.

You shouldn't feel bad about your purchase. I'm quite happy with mine so far (except the overheating issue lately).
I don't have the AOSP version yet, so I can't really speak of the features that are/aren't going to be there.
I'm guessing if they make it true stock Android, there will be no Samsung bloat at all.
So it's basically a much more powerful version than any Nexus phone will ever be,
and as such the price is quite high. Personally, I would not consider it at that price.
I'm happy with my T-Mo, and with a few customization here or there, I can always get stock.
This is really geared toward the hard-core Android fans/developers. You can't doubt the S4 has the best internal hardware
of any phone out there, and there lies possibilities.
I also heard the news from google I/O. Does this mean that this version of the S4 will be as open as a nexus and easy for developers to make their custom ROMs for it?

Sony basically did the same thing with the ZR, took complaints and made a new phone out of it
Just purchased a 600$ Ip57 phone? Well there's IP58 now! (Waterproof not resistant)
It's good to have options, but honestly most people that buy pure vanilla Android are experienced users. Most will have no clue rather it's Vanilla or not.
So there in lies the questions. Why put this out after and most that come here that have an s4 already hacked it to death no? So I don't see the point of the users here who want to upgrade to this when you just put a vanilla type ROM on it.

Not true. my nexus 4 gets bugs every once in a while.
If the hardware is identical to the tmoble version then you should just be able to flash the image through Odin right? Seems kind of like the galaxy nexus where you flash takju from yakju or whatever and boom, you are getting the Google play version of updates, wallet functionality etc. If anything it says Samsung has opened their flagship to aosp right?
Even if you think $650 is too much this means that potentially, Samsung will get touch wiz updates to new versions faster as there will be nexus level compatibility with each new android update. I'm not saying immediate but they will have an inside track based on the fact that Google will actively update their device through AOSP for at least 2 years.

CM will always have bugs due to the way they change the Android coding. Where it is stable and great work people should never look for a bug free OS

The reason that the G2 didn't get MIUI because it only had CM11. There was a CM10.1 ROM but was too buggy to use as base. I'm not going to promise anything yet, but as soon as I get caught with my personal life, I'm going to start on MIUI on the M8. I'm waiting for Patchrom to update because I would love to use the GPE ROM as a base and have Sense feature with MIUI.
My two cents but I wouldn't use MIUI, they ripped off xposed and refuse to give credit.
Plus they are falling behind in android updates, what once used to be a great Rom is turning into crap

That's funny because they have credited Rovo89 here. And it's not MIUI that created the program but BurgerZ. And the new base which the Nexus 7, Nexus 5 (beta) and RedMi3 are running 4.4.2. Your opinion is an opinion but not when you are posting false accusations.

As soon as I am done moving, I'm going to build my android kitchen again since I lost everything when my job took my laptop. That was one of the reason that I stopped MIUI with the D2VZW. But I now have two beast machine and my ISP just upgraded me to 100Mbps line for free, I should have no problem building anything. But I need to get settled back into Android after everything that has gone on with my personal life. If porting with KK is close to same as JB was, I can hopefully come up with something quick with CM11 as a base...as long as MIUI is working with SELinux enforcing. :highfive:

They're not really planing on working on anything to release until the complete source drops. If we want to see it on the Note 3, then someone else has to work with that source for us. I tried building for a non Nexus device, but I never really figured it out.
Any way to get a dev to chime in?
Cm isn't planning on developing for the preview since they don't know how much the code will change by final release
There was someone here trying to port it but till now he was not able to. The way he explained it seems we have to wait for official release.
