After first rooting my Samsung S4 mini GT-I9195 and installing first the CM 11 found here
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=serranoltexx
and then trying again with carbons ROnm here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2642488
I loads and boots fine without error however I have no mobile signal
If I search for networks in settings it simply gives a message of 'error while searching for networks'
Is there anything I can do?
I really need a stock rom to revert too as I did not take a backup being a brand new phone
I am not certain of the phones country of origin.

Make sure you have activated the sim cards, they are deactivated by default.
Thank you but I haven't changed sim cards and it was working before I flashed to the new rom.
It also wouldn't likely cause the error im seeing.
I suspect its a permission issue because i notice when I try to update the APN it does not save.
eitherway I really need a stock ROM to get my phone back working
can anyone point me in the right direction>?
sometimes after having a tinker about it prompts me on startup "new sim card added" restart to activate.
But after restarting i just get the exact same message = again I suspect a permissions issue.

Hey guys,
My phone stopped working about a week or so ago and I tried everything to fix it, nothing worked, stumbled upon this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045869
And decided to check if my IMEI was blocked (it was), I called Tesco Mobile, asked them to unblock it, which they did but I cannot make any texts or calls. I have tried:
-Reflashing radio
-Reflashing ROM
-Factory Reset
-Leaving battery out overnight, putting it in the next day
-Tried SIM in other phones - it works in other phones
-Reinstalled stock Sense ROM
The strange thing is, I can use the internet but cannot make texts/calls. Advanced info via *#*#4636#*#* shows:
IMEI: same as on phone
Phone Number: correct number listed
Current Network: Unknown
Singal Strength: 0
Location: LAC = unknown CID = unknown
Neighbouring CID = unknown
Roaming = Not roaming
GSM service: Disconnected
GPRS service: Connected <<< WHY IS THIS CONNECTED AND GSM ISN'T?!
Network type: unknown
Message waiting: false
Call redirect: false
Radio resets: 0
Data attempts: 0
Data successes: 0
If I try to change the network to anything other than GSM only then it just reverts back to GSM only. The SIM works in any other phone, my phone IS unlocked, was working perfectly prior to being IMEI blocked, so what appears to be the issue? I called up Tesco to confirm the bar is removed and they said it is, so, what gives?
EDIT: I can happily browse the internet while out and about - no wifi, definitely GPRS as I use it while I am away from my home wifi/any wifi I connect to. I am confused as to why I can use GPRS but cannot use GSM...
maybe bad sim?

SIM works in other phones and didn't have a problem with it previously... As in I can make calls and texts if I use other phones but only internet in the HTC Desire... :S
Dears,
I am running a Samsung GT-N7105 with CyanoMod 10.2.0-RC1-t0lte
Working very well.
I have updated it to cm-11-20140127-NIGHTLY (4.2.2) using two different possibilities:
- cmupdater
- Rom Manager
On both case, after the first reboot, there is no Sim card unlock popup ....
When I am going to Status, I read this:
Network: Unknown
Signal Strength: 2147483647 dBm 255 asu
Mobile Network Type: Unknown
Service status: Out of service
Mobile network state: Disconnected
IMEI: Unknown
The APNs are completely empty ... There is nothing there ...
And link to my provider (sonera Finland) I don't know what to fill ... And how to fill it.
SELinux is on "Enforcing"
What can I do ?
Thx
ps: on my attachement file, this part is missing for my phone settings.

Flash back CM 10.2 and upgrade CWM recovery to latest version before flashing CM11.
Hi,
I had an OTA update from 4.2.2 to 4.3 and some days after that, when I was using google maps while on roaming network, my phone stopped getting signal from carrier. Since then, I have followed many posts on xda and did these things using NRT (Nexus Root Toolkit):-
1. Unlock
2. Flash + Unroot
But, after doing all these, my phone still does not get the signal. The current problem (I'm not a very technical person):-
1. About Phone --> Status (copying only those properties which might be relevant):-
Network: Unknown
Signal strenght: 0 dBm 99asu
Mobile network type: UNKNOWN:0
Service state: Out of service or Radio Off (this keeps on toggling every few seconds)
IMEI: UNKNOWN
IMEI SV: UNKNOWN
Serial Number: <some number>
2. Phone info available in *#*#4636#*#*:-
Set preferred network type: Unknown
Turn On Radio or Turn Off Radio (This keeps toggling every few seconds)
Actually, after reading so many posts on xda, I can conclude that the efs partition is lost. If I'm goig in the right direction to pin point the problem, please let me know where I can download EFS and change it to point it to my Phone's IMEI.
Will the above step solve this problem ?
Any help is much appreciated.

If you have a Nandroid Backup, just restore it. Ur signal will be back.
If ur EFS is gone, U'll have to do one more step. This thread might help you. I had the same problem (IMEI lost) and fixed my phone by doing this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47045295&postcount=6

Actually, I don't have a Nandroid backup.
And, the steps mentioned in the link you provided also do Not tell about how to fix an unknown IMEI
PS: I dont have a generic IMEI now. My IMEI as seen from *#06# is empty. *#06# shows IMEI (but no IMEI number next to it) and then an OK button.
Hello,
I was given a Samsung Galaxy Ace II (I8160P) with only in it a CyanogenMod 11 (exactly: 11-20150714-UNOFFICIAL-codinap and ace2nutzer kernel) and with almost any app. The big problems: SIM card and SD card are not working.
I looked on google and on differents forums what could be the problem but I did not find any answer that I could try or, directly, understand. So I ask you for help.......
Here what happens exactly:
When the phone answers me the PIN, I put it and it is unlock but the mobile network is not working and I cannot choose any mobile network neither. Then I go to the "About phone" info and "Status", I find this:
Network: Unknown
Signal strength: -113dBm 0asu
Mobile network type: Unknown
Service status: Radio off / Out of service
Romaning: Not roaming
Mobile network state: Disconnected
[*]My phone number: Unknown
IMEI: 352364056161387
IMEI SV: 01
IP address: Unavailable
Wi-Fi MAC address: 9c:3a:af:56:99:12
Bluetooth address: Unavailable
Serial Number: Unknown
Uptime: 0:50:20
Also it is appearing all the time "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped". And that does not give me enough time to create an APN... and the worst, when I got to create one, it did not save it.
And for my SD Card, when I try to use the camera it says "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped" and with a screenshot it says that it does not know where to save it... However the sd card is in the phone and it can be mount and detected (I can see its storage).
I am sure that the SIM card and the SD card work because I can use them in another mobilephone. Anyone have any idea how I could resolve that? It is my first time trying something like this. I have never touched android that deep... So is there any solution for dummies like me or step by step I can follow? Can be safe this phone? It looks like pretty problematic...
Thank you very much in advance!
Eva
PS: Sorry for my English, it is not my mother language.
UPDATE: 4G/LTE wouldn't work without erasing all possible APNs except Ting's (with some messing around to get settings correct). LOS14.1 continued to throw errors with this install though so ultimately re-flashed with RR and it's working perfectly now.
--
I'm trying to port an S4 Mini SPH-L520 (CDMA) for use with Ting. Has anyone successfully done this with full access to phone, text and data? Having updated the carrier settings while stock, then flashed LOS 14.1 I've got functional voice, SMS, WiFi and can see 3G sporadically when I refresh network settings, but 4G/LTE's a no-go -- I get a "Your mobile data service couldn't be activated" error from the setup wizard every time the phone starts. It's definitely seeing Ting's SIM card because it's showing the correct ICCID, but won't work at all in RUIM/SIM mode ("No service", "Select SIM Card" with no options) and defaults back to NV. Haaaalp? I'm very computer literate but cell phones are terrifying and mysterious black magic...
