I have the same issue with my none OEM battery, I had tried 3 other different brands all have the same issue.
only way i can get it to charge fully on the stock battery is with the wall charger. using it with it plugged into the laptop pretty much just maintains it
Charging on my stock rom bootloader unlocked htc wildfire s takes about 5hrs from 10p to 100p. I used a wall charger. Is it normal or should i do something,
Cant find the answer after searching
Guide this NOOB please

I've noticed that on my phone it will charge to about 90% and no further sometimes even if charging for 3 days.. But when I reboot it it gives me the actual percentage battery life. Try rebooting after charging it for an hour or 2, and see if the percentage suddenly jumps up. If not then you just need to get a new charger.
Try this and see if it helps.
>Drain the battery completely, till the point it shuts off.
>Take out battery.
>Charge the phone till 100% while it's switched off.
>Boot into recovery. Wipe the battery stats.
>Unplug the charger and boot.
I read somewhere that it's advisable to charge the phone when it reaches below 20% and continuously till 100% (without disconnection). Each disconnection means a new cycle of the battery which degrades the life.

@sukhjit yup me too read the same and i recharge my phone below 20p
And will give a try to your first method, but could you suggest me a recovery - any custom recovery possible in an s-on bootloader unlocked, rooted wildfire s.
Thank you in advance

@sukhjit, Did the same... No difference
I checked the battery information while charging. Jumps to 4228mv then charges slowly. If I disconnect the charger and reconnect then the voltage drops to a value, and again jumps to 4220mv after a 2-3pc rise in battery charge.. then charges slowly taking about 5 hrs for full charge. What should I do??

You could try replacing the battery! If this doesn't help most probably the battery is at fault. If any friend or family has a htc phone with same battery, you can ask for a one day exchange and find out if it's the battery or phone.

Also Are you using original htc charger? Charging from PC takes a lot longer as PC supplies less voltage to the phone.

My battery died just after 1month use. I bought a cheap battery off ebay as i suspected the battery was the cause of my phone dying as it would constantly be on a bootloop even after i restored it to stock but cheap battery solved my problem. So i suspect you have a faulty battery and probably try a cheap battery off ebay and see if it solves your problem.

hi.. should i turn off my phone when i charge it?
because when i turn off my phone and charge it, it stuck at 97%, it won't go fully 100%.
but when i turn on my phone and charge it, it can fully charge 100%..
does it mean my battery start to get bad?
and with this litium battery is it true that if we use it until it completely depleted the battery will go bad?
i know that every energy storage (like battery) has lifespan, what i wanna say is, if we use the phone till the phone drop dead (battery completely depleted will shorten it lifespan?
thanks
and i bought this phone bout a month ago

My stolen device use stock miui 5 rom, i remembered install repair battery life app from playstore.
And somehow it worked, dunno if it caused by the app or not, you can try tho...

Yes, like i said, "just like you said" about the device,
And im currently at cm 12.1 r4 and since the first cm 12, its the opposite
You'll not have issue with stuck at 97% charging while power off, but you'll stuck at 3% while using phone (no charging), never reach 0%.

No its not going bad. Its normal for the charging to slow down alot at 97% since overcharging is bad too. Just unplug and use it once its >95%
And yes its very bad for lithium batteries to go completely flat, and their lifespan will be longer if you charge it more often - that is a shallower discharge depth is better.
My phone has been having less hours of screen time recently, and shutdowns when the battery indicator is at 0%, (obviously), but the problem comes when I plug the charger and it says that the phone has 20-30% of battery. I wonder there is something to fix this, and make my phone shutdown when it is really at 0% of battery.
thx in advance

firstly you have to tell these (1)how old is your device?(2) using stock rom or custom?(3)how often you charge your device?

If you haven't done any rom upgrades then you might want to replace your battery.
