I too didn't backup my default keys... But why you need your default softkeyz? You can get same keys in Softkeyz
(DONT TRY THIS UNLESS SOMEONE CONFIRMS IT!)
I think deleting the systemUI and then rebooting should help

If you delete the systemui you won't have one when you reboot.
It's like telling someone to delete their system32 folder and then rebooting, it won't magically restore itself.
The only ways to get the default files back would be to find similar files to the originals in softkeyz or restore the default Systemui file. I can't provide you with it so you're gonna have to find it yourself, there are odexed and deodexed versions on the forums if you look.

All of a sudden I kept getting force closes when trying to open up MMS app. I uninstalled the app using Titanium Backup. I am now trying to install the app again using Astro File Manager and also tried using Appinstaller. I copied the MMS.apk from the original Bonsai 4.0 zip file on my computer to my SD card.
When trying to install .apk with Astro I keep getting application not installed error.
Can someone give me a good MMS.apk I can install and also let me know if I need to install the .apk a different way.
I am running Bonsai 4.0

Do I have to use "root explorer" I used astro explorer and placed the .apk into the system/app and nothing changed. I rebooted the phone and still nothing.
Any other suggestions would greatly help.. I need my text back.
Remember to use the original name of the app
For example if the name if the app is a.apk and you rename it to b.apk it won't work

I did the same thing. Try restoring a backup of only ur mms.apk from titanium. It worked form me to stop the fc's and get my stock mms back. But I still couldn't get a the modded mms to install :-\

Have you tried just flashing one of the mms apks from the transparent collection on this forum? Not sure if you WANT transparent, but I had a similar problem to yours, and I just went with the transparent ones and it worked for me. And I got some pretty colors to boot.

Anytime someone says to use root explorer, i use Super Manager. Its free, has root functions and can mount /system r/w.
Is there a way to change the color of
the battery icon n network signal bar ??
It would be pretty cool to
have a variety of colors to change to
instead of the blue, green, etc.
Just a thought, thanks.

Try UOT Kitchen.

This is what you need. For instructions read this.
Thankzz
ya you can try the uot kichen but it sometimes the wrong selection can make ur phone slow but you can always revet back to default without lossing your data
i already made one
check themes section ...
by the way how to revert back ??
CWM backup n restore ???
Before you apply anything keep a backup of unmodified framework-res.apk and systemui.apk so you can just overwrite when needed. Or do Mai77's method. Submit to kitchen first without modding anything so you can have a flashable zip of the unmodified files.

To backup your rom and everything use CWM. Mai's thread about the kitchen is in the themes and apps section.

I tried cwm backup ... it backed up 100% in the end it gave an error ....
Cant mount / data
I tried several times ...
Same thing
But I have noticed that in SD card there is a clockwork mod folder there in backup folder is a 400.6mb files
One is a tar file , recovery img and boot.img
Total folder size is 400.6

There should be four files inside that folder. Use skin's. Also if it says can't find sd-ext that's normal. As long as last words say backup complete you're good to go.

try cwm by madteam.. Your back up folder should contain 5 files

Oh, that is a prob, apks need to b decompiled, modified, compiled and signed, I doubt you will have any sufficient luck with your method, but search "sign apk" on the play store, there's an app for that

If you have your ROM on your SD card, try using a file explorer and extract the settings from your ROM.zip.
After that, just replace it where it should be(where you deleted it). I have no idea it it's gonna work but give it a try . Be sure to reboot after you
replaced it.
Actually I m running on stock firmware by Sony I have no Rom installed

Settings.apk from Stock MK16 ROM
Ah, I also had my settings.apk missing recently, in my case it's caused by v6 faulty zipaligning though
Here you go settings.apk fresh from MK16 stock ROM
Copy to /system/app and set the correct permission (644) and you should be good to go
Eh, usual disclaimer: it works for me, I don't take any responsibility if something happened with your phone)
Edit: Just seen screenshot on the OP, it is from settings.apk! what you've been missing is semcsettings.apk, I uploaded that also.
Hi all, i flashed the zip found in this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283514 to remove the dual sim icons. After flashing, i realised that the settings shortcut icon had been replaced with the recent apps icon. I then flashed the stock ui with dual sim icons which is also found in the thread. I have the dual sim icons back, but the recent apps icon is still there.
Can anyone pls help? A flashable zip to re-enable the settings shortcut will be great.

It happen another member too(read further in the same thread )
It's due to dpi change ... you have to re-flash rom in order to fix it
Create a backup of apps (user apps only ) using Titanium backup , re-flash your Rom, then restore....
Always do a backup of system apps ( specially system UI ) before trying these modes ... so you can restore whenever you need...
Hope it helps...

You can't directly install it as an ordinary apk(since you are currently using it all the time).... you can either restore cwm backup or a titanium backup
