[Q] After upgrade to 4.4.2, stock Gallery app presents incorrect geotag information. - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sorry, if this has been answered, I searched and couldn't find anything. I recently updated to 4.4.2, ever since then the stock Samsung gallery app shows incorrect geotag information on my pics. Interestingly, it's off by a couple of blocks and not much more but it's doing it on new AND old pics. The strange thing is, the correct street name is displayed in the filename (I opt for contextual filenames) and if I use the "get directions" option from within the gallery settings, it again, shows the correct address. However, when attempting to view pics, it consistently displays the incorrect road a couple blocks away. It does this wherever the address is, if the geotag is 14th street, it'll display 12th Street.
I've checked the displayed longitude and latitude and they are precisely accurate as well.
When I upgraded, I did do a factory reset afterwards to make sure everything is clean.
Any suggestions on how to fix this in the app (other than downloading another gallery app)?
I've included a screenshot, as you can see in the "title" the correct street is displayed but in the "location" the street is different.

Manila 2.1 Facebook pictures update

Dear Friends,
I noticed that since manila 2.1.1919 (LEO) (probably), the contacts picture doesn't updated. Means if any of my friends change their profile picture in their facebook, their new picture wont show up in my contact. I've tried to update, but no luck. Only their status are updated.
Anyone has the same issue? any fix for this?

I'm using stock att rom and manila 2.1.1918 and had a similar issue when linking the profiles for the first time, and updating the pic the contacts pictures wouldnt load at all, i removed the link b/t the facebook and contact and instead of having it auto locate which contact i chose it from the list and that worked. i know its a dif version, but figured I'd share my experience
I thought I had the same issue but it turns out that it just takes a while. Once you set it to update move back to the home tab and then go back. pic should be updated
i've tried that, but still no picture update. The status did update.
I'm not sure if this will work, but I figure my 2 cents might help.
I had a similar problem as well.
Now that you have a connection with the facebook profile... Go into your contact list, select any contact that is asscociated with a profile (via Automatic Pairing or Manual). Select "Edit Contact" (shoulr be under the "Information" Bar). Touch the area where the "Photo" should be. Select "Facebook Profile."
I have had a few that I had to do this to, but once I did this, they change by themselves as people change them on their profiles... I believe it updates every 2 hours or something.
Worth a try, at least.

Contact pictures don't update when when changed on Facebook

Something I've noticed about the People app is that once it has retrieved a profile picture from Facebook, it never updates the contact if they change their Facebook picture. It pulls in newly added people, but all existing friends retain their original picture. This is even a couple of weeks after a picture has been changed.
Not a really big deal, but one friend had a pretty terrible picture up when I first got the phone and it makes me wince a bit when they call.

Go to People app, search that friend, tap on him. New screen comes up, there's a Linked sign on top right. Tap that. New screen comes up, there, at the left side, you'ill find the photo, and there's an arrow pointing down. There you can set which photo you want to use (google, camera, or Facebook).
I have the same problem, but doing this still doesn't update the Facebookpic, and that's all I want to do since the contact now have changed her picture to a more bareable one
I've got the same problem. What I did to fix this was went into my sync settings removed my sync with facebook for htc and re entered my facebook details. Unfortunately it seems that I have to do it every time to updater facebook pics

That's exactly the problem - what you see there is the picture the Facebook contact had at they were first synced in, not the current picture.
such a shame cos the the HD2 did update properly

[Q] Google Navigation won't navigate to actual addresses, only streets

Hi guys,
At some point in the past two months or so, Navigation has started to fail me.
Basically now, if I'm in Maps and search for an address, for example, "123 Fake Street", it will show up correctly in Maps, but when I go for driving directions, it changes to show up as "Fake Street". Even if I re-enter the entire address in Navigation's search, it resolves to just the street name, and the destination is set as the street name.
This causes two problems.
1) It can send you north on a street you want to go south on, for example. I think it just picks the middle of the length of the street.
2) When turning on to a street, the screen shows the destination text. Since it's not navigating to an actual address, it's not showing me the house number. I'm often delivering things to people, and it's a pain to have to pull over and re-read my email for the house number.
Any idea how to regain full functionality? I'm in Canada, if this happens to be region-specific.
You could try reinstalling Google Maps.
Have you been using this current version for more than 2 months without updating? Did it work properly prior to 2 months ago?

[Q] Google Now only shows weather card and nothing else

Like the title said, my google now only shows weather. I've enabled everything from search history to location history and for some reason all I ever get is the weather card and nothing else. I've also set all the other different cards on the highest priority, so I don't think that's the problem either.
Have you turned Google Now off and on? Have you appointments within the next 7 days and are you near a traffic station?

You need to use Google.Com as your search and set language to English.
I've found that Google Now cards basically show up whenever they feel like it. However, each card can be turned on/off individually, and on top of that there's also a 'Card Appears' setting. Check the 'Card Appears' for the missing cards and see if you meet the criteria for them to show up. If you don't (e.g. you're not near public transportation or haven't searched for flights recently) then they won't appear. I remember that for weather Card Appears is generally set to Always, which is why it's the only one you ever see.
You can also sometimes hit 'Show more cards' towards the bottom of Google Now in order to coerce it to show more.

[Q] Default Image for Contact

So, I have the GS3. Rooted, and am running the Leak (latest with LIH updates -radio, firmware, etc)
I've notice that with the JB update, there is now a change in the contacts app, related to images. It used to show an option to set a picture that's used on one of the joined accounts as the default image when referencing that contact.
Like if I wanted to see a Facebook pic on one person, but a manually set image on another, I'd go to the contact, edit the contact, tap the pic, and choose an option to use as default (or however it was phrased). But that option is now gone altogether, and I have images from my people's own networks being shown when I wanna see something other than their dog.
Any idea on how to get this functionality back? I'm really hoping the official update brings this back.
Thanks guys.
[Solved]
Figured it out.
While viewing the contact (not while editing it) hit menu, then there's an option that says "Set as Default."
This will take ya to a screen listing all the mixtures for caller ID, phone number, email, etc... and give you radio buttons to choose which ones you want as the default for each.
The one for the caller I'd sets the default pic for the contact.
