So long story short I attempted to update my GS3 to the official ota 4.4.2 and it installed 100% but now will not boot past the AT&T logo. It revolves about three times then freezes. I am still able to get into recovery/download mode and I was wondering how I can either get it to fully boot or install some other rom? Pretty noobish at this have only rooted twice and installed CM via the installer. Any help would be appreciated!
Try a factory reset in recovery to see if that helps.

You might have to try with Kies if you wanna keep the official.
I'm not sure if there is a flashable zip of 4.4.4 yet.

Thanks but im not 100% sure what to do. Can I flash cwm via odin then flash the rom? Because my gs3 is recognized by my computer but im not able to access it like a hard drive to drag the files in.
Edit: If I had an external sd card could I load cwm and say cm11 from there?

Yep, you could use an external SD to flash CM. You'll have to flash cwm or twrp with Odin if you don't already have it.

I goofed. I wiped my internal sdcard on purpose, thinking I would be able to flash from the external sdcard via an older CWM Recovery. I had already wiped System, so I can't boot the phone up. ODIN recognizes the device, but there doesn't seem to be an ODIN flashable tar of a recovery that supports the External SDCard.
Could someone help me out?

You could always just push the recovery to your internal SD card via ADB and then dd it to the correct mmcblock via the instructions in the development thread.

This is how I used to install Recoveries on my Atrix - however I cannot get my PC to see my phone in ADB. I have the toolkit installed, and the toolkit did work with ADB months ago. In download mode I can't make an ADB connection, and in the old recovery I can't make an ADB connection either.
I made my own flashable ODIN file.
Attached for anyone who else who may need it, worked perfectly.
Then use "Triangle away" to reset the binary counter

I tied to flash the pac-man 4.2.2 ROM to my rooted s4. It worked but all the Google apps did not come with it... so I downloaded an app package off of GooManeger. Anyway after reboot it was obvious the app package was not compatible. Wiped phone, then no ROM, no OS, no nothing. Device doesn't get past initial boot screen. I can get into download and recovery mode. Not really sure how to download anything on my phone right now as my computer doesn't recognize it anymore. My recovery mode is TeamWin. I'm sure there's more you want to know so please ask and I appreciate your help.

You need to start from scratch using ODIN and flash the stock/non rooted Tmobile Samsung Galaxy S4 M919 firmware.
(using download mode in the phone)
Here is the download link: http://www.hotfile.com/dl/213469534/9ff06bd/M919UVUAMDL_M919TMBAMDL_TMB.zip.html
After the odin flash you will need to root the phone unless you want to keep it stock.
Good luck!

You may have wiped the /system folder which may explain why your phone is stuck on the booting sequence. As the poster said above, use Odin to flash the stock MDL and root again. As far as your computer not recognizing it. Put the phone into download mode (Vol Down + Home + Power), plug the phone into a different USB port (and let the drivers install if it's the first time you're plugging your phone in that port for Windows users), and then open up Odin and flash the stock firmware from there. Let us know if Odin recognizes your phone.
If you can still get into download mode and recovery, you are NOT totally bricked.

Got phone back to normal, then accomplished root access. Downloaded clock work and now recovery mode does not work. I downloaded CW from hot file. I was sure to download the right one for my phone... anyway I cant factory reset at the moment, it just sticks at recovery boot screen. What I'm trying to accomplish is download CW, pacman 4.3 ROM, and Gapps.

Try Philz CWM flash via Odin

Odin back to stock and re-root. IIRC, CWM should be available from the Play store where you can then open the app and install/update the libraries. Didn't Pacman ROM include CWM?
Thank you guys for the advice. Super usefull
I was under the impression I needed to download a download a recovery mod first. Where is the best place to get my ROMs? I'm real interested in the pacman. I extracted the pacman files but it wont plug into the PDA in Odin. Also MD5 hash checker is something I've never heard of..

You need to have a working custom recovery first. Like Skipjacks stated, you flash ROM in the custom recovery.
I think you should start from the beginning and take it step by step.
I assumed at this point you're rooted on the stock ROM with stock recovery?
If not lets get to that stage and we can go from there.
-Stock ROM rooted with stock recovery
-Flash custom recovery
-Nandroid backup
-Flash custom ROM<<You are here

Derp moment. CWM != ROM Mgr. :silly: Thanks for the clarification.
I did it all with exception of flashing the ROM. Every time I try to flash the pacman 4.3 it fails. Any suggestions on how to fix that or should I turn my attention so a different ROM. I'm going for optimization and complete customization, without needing a launcher. Or maybe a suggested ave to customize touch wiz to the fullest.

I finally have everything working again. I had the phone booting via the "unbrick" SD card last night but every attempt with 2 different MJB zip files failed. I eventually just found this one http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23212708291681451by @loserskater and tried it and it worked. I can boot without the SD again. I did donate to him as a thanks.
First I followed this thread (and read through Mr x's thread as well) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549068
I was then able to boot the phone via the special SD card.
I then kept fighting with trying to get it to boot without the SD card. Since I could get to download mode I again ran CF-autoroot and I flashed TWRP 2.6.3.0 via ODIN. I kept booting to recovery and could not get either MJB bootloader that I found to work. I did get a status 6 when I tried CWM which indicated a syntax error or formatting error. I eventually found the zip file below and that worked via TWRP and then I was set.
I hope I remember everything - I was up until 4am and then didn't get a lot of sleep so I'm a little "fuzzy" now...
I will try to clean this up later for other's reference.
Edit 4: I can now get to TWRP by booting via an SD card with the unbrick file. I can also get into download mode. I tried flashing the MJB bootloader zip file via TWRP but it keeps failing. What is the next step to correct the bootloader problem if I had MJB and flashed the MJ2 bootloader (yes that was dumb...). How can I get the MJB bootloader files onto the EMMC again?
Help! I have flashed custom ROMs hundreds of times on my Captivate, Note, and Note2. My wife's S3 has been stock and had the OTA 4.3 update. After a few attempts, I did get root and TWRP 2.6.3.0 installed. I installed this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075639- was able to update SU and restored user some apps via TB. The "about device" still showed "enforcing and she had the MJB bootloader. I rebooted to recovery and again ran the "Knox removal script" which I had run a few times already. This time I ran it and then flashed the MJ2 bootloader from the OP. I can't get it to turn on now. I pulled the battery - no luck. I plug it into my laptop and I hear the sound of windows recognizing the device but it doesn't show up. If I leave the battery out and plug into the PC, then the red LED flashes. If it was my device I would be bummed but being my wife's phone, I really am hoping someone can help...
Edit: I have been trying the 3 button recovery and download options with no luck.
During my captivate days, I used a "JIG" for getting into download mode but am concerned even that won't help if there is a bootloader mismatch or something like that.
Edit2: Even though I have a black screen, I tried using ODIN and connected the phone and it says "added"! I will now look for a full bootloader flash via ODIN
Edit3: It seems like if I have the battery removed, hold the vol. down and home and then plug in the cable, ODIN recognizes it so I have a ray of hope but am still a bit "panicked". I am looking for a full MJB firmware flash via ODIN
Did you try and reboot into recovery (not download) and flash the MJB bootloader??? that is what worked for me.

That is what I have tried multiple times but it keeps saying failed. Can you send me a link to the exact zip file you used? Did you do anything such as flashing anything right before (supersu update), etc? I am very hopeful now knowing that you were able to get it to work.
Edit: I have a couple of .zip files that are supposed to apply the MJB bootloader files. One of them @loserskater posted comes up with a status 6 which I am researching now.
What recovery did you use TWRP or CWM? I've been trying both.

To start I bought this phone from a friend was working fine. It seemed to be rooted after going to recovery mode and realizing it was a custom recovery that I got into. I've had plenty on iPhones and androids , so far this is the first time after hours of research and trying everything that I've had to make a post asking for help. I have a sgh-i747 pebble blue ATT phone. It had 4.3 OS on it and was rooted before I acidentally wiped the OS off of it. I've tried the past few days to use Odin to get the stock firmware back on, I've tried 4.0.1 - 4.3 , no luck. Odin recognizes phone after I click start after choosing the md5 tar file it either says fail or stays at setupconnection. I've tried many times over and over unistalling and re installing drivers , kies, and downloading different firmware and every version of Odin. I need help guys please , thanks alot

Since your phone was on 4.3, the only thing you can do now would be a stock restore to 4.3. Please see the thread below for the stock restore zip as well as instructions. You may use another device to copy the stock restore zip to an external SD card and then place this card in your phone, then flash from (custom) recovery. Odin cant help you now except to flash custom recovery if you need to redo this.

Good you have TWRP already. You can try to see if you can save the zip to your phone's internal memory as the PC may be able to recognize it in download or recovery mode. Otherwise, you may try using any other device at all that accepts (micro) SDHC card e.g. camera, card adapter etc. You may also be able to flash the zip directly from your PC using the desktop flasher. See thread with instructions below ...

Glad to know your phone is now working fine. To root or not is a choice you'll have to make depending on how much control you want over your phone. The pros are that you literally have control over your phone in terms of installing apps or making modifications to the operating system. You can install custom ROMs and/or apps that you would otherwise not be able to install. The con, of course, is security and integrity of your phone. There is always a risk that you may end up bricking your phone or creating access for malware. Rooting should, therefore, be something you do only if you have need for it.
... Just Odin stock ROM and work from there or if twrp isn't latest... Odin latest recovery and then USB files into phone using recovery and then flash... Or again just use odin to flash and then do whatever you want afterward

Hi guys
at first, sorry for my bad english, i'll try to explain my problem clear as possible.
I was triyng to install CM12 port but i've format data instead simply wipe.
Now, i've try to install .zip from SD but TWRP can't mount System.
Try with Odin to install stock rom but also failed.
Now, the only two things that i can do are boot in Download Mode or in Recovery.
Any help or idea?
Thank you All for you help.
Cheers.
Update:
Searching info about my problem, i've read that a possibility is a corruption of NAND.
I can't believe that a format data can kill emmc.
Well. What you can do is install a custom rom in twrp. When your in recovery, transfer a custom rom from your pc to your tab s. Then flash the zip rom in twrp. As you didnt mention your device model, find some custom stock roms in the tab s threads and download them on your pc to trnasfer over to the tablet.

Try using kies to install the firmware. Or try firmwares from other countries.

Eureka!
Thank you.
I've try a lot of stock firmware in Odin and finally i am able to use my tablet.
After that, i've try to install first CM12 from euphoros but unfortunatly didn't work.
Than, i tryed with CM11 build by Barracuda&Friends and everything gone perfect.
I can't figure out why the CM12 doesn't work like CM11 since there are both for SMT700 (i've the 705 but the CM11 for t700 work like a charm).
Well, at least everything goes fine.
Now, time to understand why i've problem installing CM12
Thank you for all!
