I've noticed the more of the hacks you turn on, the more sluggish the phone gets. Today I turned all of them off and was surprised at how snappy the phone was. I then turned on only a few of what I used to have and it has remained that.
I am using stock rooted 4.42 still on B4.

Well yeah.. more running processes
What hacks are you using? Just curious cause I use Xposed w/about 5 or 6 different modules and I haven't noticed any slowdowns.

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the battery saver notification? I paid for the upgraded version of Tweaks Box, hoping that would help, but noticed afterwards that it said "hide all but the one that says it's enabled".
I'd like to leave it on all the time, to turn on once it hits 30%, but that persistent notification drives me crazy. Is there an option I'm missing in TweaksBox or another Xposed module/hack to get rid of that enabled notification?
Oh my goodness - that drives me crazy, just because I want battery saver for below 30% doesn't mean I need a constant reminder when I'm well charged! Yep, there's a notification status option in the Gravity Box exposed module somewhere (forget exact location in GB)... I removed it that way, you have to tinker a bit.
This is driving me nuts. Any way to get this notification gone?

I believe the post directly above yours answered your question
G3 TweaksBox has settings for this.
Hide the Battery Saver notification
- Hide all Battery Saver notifications but the one that says it is enabled (i.e. when you're actually low on battery).
It takes away both the icon and notification itself.

Worked on my TouchWiz S3, Gionee device, tablet, and more for the most part. A small amount if features especially lock screen size won't work on non AOSP ROMs/devices, but Gravity Box works on pretty much any rooted device with Xposed.
I haven't yet seen any posts regarding removing default icons from the G4's status bar.
What needs to happen before we'll be able to remove NFC icons from our devices? Any G4 Tweaksbox in the works?
I'd love to know if this is possible. The NFC icon is driving me nuts. I just leave NFC enabled all the time and don't need an indicator. Sadly, neither GravityBox nor Wanam Kit can hide it, and G3 Tweaksbox does not work on the G4.
I would love to hide it too
You should be able to hide it with GravityBox and Xposed. I used it to hide the bluetooth, alarm, "am/pm", and a few other icons from my notification bar.
Yes, there is an option to hide Bluetooth. There doesn't seem to be a way to hide NFC or location service icons unless they're in a totally different place that I can't find. =/

You can hide the location icon using "flat style bar indicators" but not the nfc icon.
I just got the G4 and I'm coming from a Galaxy S3 and Cyanogenmod, so I'm very used to being able to add/remove icons and disabling the NFC icon would be most awesome.
I also wouldn't mind the numbered battery percentage text inside the battery icon.
Oh, and can you unpair the notification and ringtone volume so I can adjust each independently?
Otherwise, great phone. It's the small things that irk me.
After upgrading to Marshmallow, the GravityBox utility to hide the Bluetooth icon doesn't seem to work right anymore. It works the moment when it is hidden or etc, but when I turn the Bluetooth device on, the icon comes back and stays there. =/
Still nothing I can do about the NFC icon.

And the solution is still in my post three above this one.
Edit: OOOOPS..! The module was updated a long time ago and works with the NFC icon now...
I have the Verizon G4, and I have Xposed and GravityBox working successfully. However, I ran into a few issues that I want to share, as well as share what I can confirm works. As we all know, GravityBox has a big disclaimer that it is meant for AOSP or stock-based ROMs, and not for heavily skinned ROMs like what our G4 has.
Confirmed working:
Changes to the status bar (remove icons, change battery icon, add data monitor, etc.)
Enabling all rotations
Lockscreen modification to automatically unlock after successful PIN entry
Confirmed not working:
Media tweak to allow separate ringtone and notification volume (this simply doesn't make any changes to volume controls)
Go to dialer automatically when opening phone
If you want to add to this list, simple comment below and I will update the OP. Hopefully this will help others from making possible bootloop or freezing issues.
Not Working: Go to dialer automatically when opening phone. It still goes right to recent for me.
Sometimes Works: Skip tracks with volume keys when screen is off. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I enabled the quick unlock under lockscreen tweaks. Works for me..

Do you use a PIN or pattern?
Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
EDIT: I tried it and it worked with a PIN. I believe the issue was I also checked the button to automatically prompt for the PIN entry as well.
Were you able to remove the sim icon with the question mark with Gravity when using your T-Mobile sim?
Is anybody using it with smart unlock? For some reason, with gravity box installed, smart unlock did not work for me. Messed with all lock screen settings to no avail, including trying to disable all
I've tried all the following tweaks:
Statusbar tweaks- all the signal cluster, battery, and clock settings work. Data traffic monitor works. Ongoing notification blocker works. Disable peek too.
Display tweaks- allow all rotations works.
Media tweaks- "volume keys skip track" works. Some people have reported intermittent function but it works flawlessly for me. More music volume steps works. Reorient volume keys works. Disabling safe headset media volume works. Volume panel timeout works.
Navigation keys actions- all these settings work. To edit the square icon you have to use the recent key option.
Miscellaneous tweaks- recent tasks RAM bar with adjustments works. Headset actions work. Enable screenshot delete works.
All ultimate notification control settings work.
I'm sure other tweaks work but I haven't tried them.
can anyone get quicksettings to work? i haven't used gravitybox before. it seems pretty great, but i cant get that to work, maybe it isnt compatible.
i really want a separate quick-settings vs notification panel like I had in my m8/viperone. the g4 is slick, but i can't stand the quicksettings/notifications screen.
Is there any way to have the data/LTE icon disappear when connected to WiFi?
Expandable volume panel
Enabling Gravity Box (5.3.4)-->Media tweaks-->Expandable volume panel doesn't work. In fact, it makes your volume panel not show what level your volume is set/changed to when you tap a volume button. This is on VS98613B, and also did it on VS98611A.

This is called "Unknown Sim Icon"
Just Google LG G4 Unknown Sim Icon
I have tried at least 5 different status bar battery bar apps today. Not a single one will stay enabled for more than a few minutes. I have tried battery optimization disabled. I have tried keeping each apps notification visible if the app has the option. When I reopen these apps and look at their settings, they show as disabled or the option to start is there.
I compel thee to online.

Never had a problem with Team Battery Bar on stock or custom roms.
I am on rooted 5.0.3. I haven't rebooted since 344 minutes ago (5.73 hours) because I am also troubleshooting an issue with volume buttons. I did uninstall GravityBox and I was using its battery bar so that may be the issue.
Energy bar works prefect....
Is there a way to disable notification pulldown on secured lockscreen? An ADB command or a root method is welcome.
This is the simplest portion of security a phone manufacturer could invent - no one likes to get their phone out of their hands and accidentally (or purposely) turn on Airplane mode, DND, Flashlight, etc.
I'd love to hear from someone that does see this as an issue and suggests there should be an option to disable the notification pulldown on secured lockscreen.
I absolutely agree with you. To this day, I can't believe that we can't at least have toggle switches for each aspect of what we want to allow to be done from the lock screen. I know there's a root app for controlling whether you can power off from the lock screen (besides the obvious hold the power button, or hold the power button + volume up, or whatever it is now to force turn off, or maybe that only reboots, but someone can still catch it especially if the bootloader is unlocked and turn off in that state.
I used to use a root app for your purpose exactly, but it stopped working a couple of Android versions ago and wasn't updated.
There are some more complex workarounds but I probably don't recommend them. I forget if Android on the Pixel forces you to have some QS tiles showing, or some quantity, or certain stock QS tiles, but if you have full flexibility, you can disable them all, replace them with dummy toggles (there are apps you can do that with) and use an alternate toggle app such as Bottom Quick Settings, however overall I found the solution inelegant although kudos to the developer anyway.
I just remind myself that I've never lost/misplaced or had my phone stolen so it isn't likely to cause a problem for me. If I'm held up at gunpoint, of course, that's something different, but they would likely force me to unlock my device anyway - I know someone who was beaten with a gun in their driveway until they unlocked their iPhone.
Some OEMs do give you a minor amount of control (like one of the very few kudos I can give to Samsung) - you can control whether you can power off from the lock screen or not, and yet you couldn't control if someone could turn on/off Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth, GPS, and Airplane mode.
Been using this lsposed module for this:

To add to your reply, this will obviously only work with a recent canary (Zygisk) build of LSposed (latest is here) as the current stable build of LSposed only supports Riru & Magisk now has it's own Zygote system which doesn't work with Riru (if I remember correctly?).
Just download LSposed above, flash in Magisk, install above APK, enable in LSposed & select System UI, reboot and it should work perfectly.
I think GravityBox also has an option to disable the pulldown, if/when it becomes available for Android 12.
