Has anyone had issues with google maps lately? It will freeze and or close out on its own, both my girlfriend and I are having the same problem.
Using T-mobile s3 full stock rom, never rooted.
Thank you for any help!
What firmware build are you on? And have you tried wiping Maps data and uninstalling updates, then reinstalling?
Android- 4.3
Build- JSS15J.T999UVUENC2
I will let you know how it goes after wiping maps data and uninstalling updates, then reinstalling. need to test it out
Thank you !
UPDATE: so yea it still has the same problem, any suggestions? thanks
You could try factory resetting, but this will wipe all your apps and data, including your internal sd card. Not being rooted makes backing up anything other than the sd pretty much impossible though so you'd have to reinstall and setup everything from scratch.
Its possible it could be an issue with the app itself, but ive not heard anything else about it so I cant say how likely this is.
Only ither option I can think of is to make sure auto update apps is off in the play store, then uninstall the maps update and try running the older version.
alright thank you, I think im going to go ahead and root it and put a custom rom

How exactly did you get market enabler to work/fix the issue? I installed, and it says that it works, but I can't get past the server issue at all. I've tried setting it to TMobile and VZW US, tried Canadian settings, and a few others ...
I'm on a VZW GNex, running a nightly of AOKP. The issue started literally out of nowhere in the afternoon yesterday. hadn't changed any settings or flashed a new rom. Just got out of work, and couldn't connect to the market all of a sudden. This did coincide with a Rom Manager gallery screw up though - fixed that luckily. Decided to re-flash my current ROM, but that hasn't helped either.
Almost wonder whether it's worth relocking, going back to stock, and exchanging the phone =/

Try clearing market data and google services framework data.then try again.i changed it to T-mobile.that worked for me.
Hi guys,
this is driving me nuts. I've searched the webs and found some answers, but not anything I'd like to do to remedy this problem.
My brand new R800i, not rooted, won't download games from Google Play Store via wi-fi. It will just say "starting download" and then nothing happens, I can just just watch that bar indicating download as it does not move one bit. It seems some other people had this same problem, as I've found out on the internet. 3G works fine though. I had to download my games from the Play Store using 3G, which is a pain in the ass.
A few points to consider:
- I have only so far used one wi-fi point, which worked with all my previous Xperia Plays. Maybe if I try a different hot-spot, the problem will magically disappear?
- I do not want to root, unlock bootloader or do any such things with my XP.
- I do NOT want to reset my phone to factory settings, I would lose lots of savegame data.
- I HAVE tried several times clearing the cache of the Google Store app, Download Manager app and resetting the Google Talk app. Did not help.
- Downloading from any other source (Gameloft for example) works via wi-fi, it's just that stupid Google Play Store that does not.
- Some people say the problem should sort itself out after a few days...It's been two weeks and I still can't download via wi-fi from the Store.
Could any kind soul suggest a solution that does not involve resetting my phone, or rooting? Thanks for any advice.

Yes, did not help.
Besides, that just erases your user data right? Your log-in and password.
I will try it again just to be sure, but I think I did it too.
i too had same prob. but it got solved after 3 or 4 days... may be i was lucky.
Used to have this problem. Uninstall update ( this will get you back to old market) then let it update again. That's what I did.

...doesn't work for me, nor does anything else mentioned before Tried installing 3.8.15 via .apk and back to stock, clearing cache, data etc. Play Store works with UMTS/EDGE but not as good as before (takes a while before download actually starts, that behavior is new). With WiFi I don't get an error message but the download simply doesn't start. Everything else I do via WiFi works great (FTP-syncing calendar data stored on my NAS, browsing the web, file transfer via ES-FileExplorer and so on).
I use a Galaxy S3 with Siyah Kernel (1.5rc1), XXBLG8 Stock Firmware and XXLH1 modem. Same Market issue before the update (Siyah 1.4, Stock XXALE8, stock modem (May 2012)). So maybe it is not at all model related, but something with the market itself... Strangely I found just a few posts about this - here I have the most hope for help

First: I know I am in the wrong model section, as I use a Galaxy S3 but post under Sony Xperia... Sorry for that - it was just a topic that seemed Google Play Store related rather than dependant on a specific model.
Second: I tried all of this (although I don't have such a section under settings/accounts on my phone) and more. I just flashed the latest stock firmware again*, did a full wipe, used TriangleAway! and every single thing I can think of. I even went to my google-account to see if there's something wrong, but no.
Still: UMTS works, WiFi doesn't. WiFi otherwise perfectly working with all kinds of uses. Tried all tips and hints, nothing works. Problem started a few days ago with older fw/ROM, which I didn't touch for weeks and worked fine until then. I really don't have a clue what changed!
EDIT: I also checked, if my ISP or my WLAN settings (router) are off - nada. I tried to install/update an app on another Android device in my household: this one works perfectly with WiFi. So it must be the Store itself...
UPDATE: Still no real solution! In the meantime it worked for a few days without my doing and in the same way it stopped working again today. I guess the Google server software is bugged. I placed a support request at Google-Support. This was an experience I can't make public enough:
Even though I initially told them what I tried they just did a copy&paste of their own F.A.Q. This went on for four days, the didn't even read my information. And I was quite thorough. I even made a network capture file, prefiltered it with Wireshark and attached it to the e-mail. As proof that my firewall isnt't blocking the traffic. No reaction to that, no technician was asked or involved, nothing. They simply closed the ticket and left me standing there. I'm still pretty pi...ed. This kind of "support" I don't want at all. Just a waste of time. I sincerely hope for a Google PlayStore replacement so one is not practically forced to use it. I'd volunteer to pay 1$ more for each buy just to circumvent that kind of nonsense Google is playing here.
This is me again. My problem is back, I can't download via WiFi from Google play store on both my Xperia play and Nexus 7. What is strange though is that SOME apps will download while others will not. It seems that apps I paid for some amount /like GTA 3, Max Payne, Reckless Racing/ and that were never completely free, WILL download. Others that I got for free /e.g. Call of Mini Zombies, Juggernaut, Heroes Call and many others/ will not download. This seems peculiar to me. Did anyone have this kind of behaviour on your android device?

Recently I started having the weirdest issue.
Immediately after I search for an item in Google Search (either typing or voice) it crashes.
If I don't perform a search, Google now stays up and active and I can use it.
I use STOCK rooted roms. But, It doesn't seem to be rom specific as the issue happens on XXCMH1 & XXCMI1
Is anyone having this issue?
I had this same issue a couple of weeks back. It corrected automatically after an update to google search. So check if u have any updates.

I'm having the same issue running CivZ-FLEX-BEAM-REV3.4 Rom.
I broke down and wiped the entire device thinking it was one one of my apps after serveral attempts to fix by clearing Google Search Data & Cache.
I'm willing to live with it for now until the next CivZ-FLEX-BEAM-Rom is released but I can say that im somewhat relived to see that someone is reporting the same problem on a Stock Rooted Rom.

Like you I also:
1. Deleted Google Search's data,
2. Wiped cache/dalvik cache.
3. I haven't done a full wipe (really don't want to do that.)
Are you saying that it's still broke after the full wipe?
I tried a suggestion from this forum : http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/64445-google-now-search-crashes/
1. I uninstalled the last Google search update, via application manager.
(Immediately Google Search started working)
2. Later, I updated the app via the playstore and now it's working fine even on the latest version.
Maybe this will work for someone else.

Yes I just uninstalled google search altogether through titanium backup and then installed it again directly from the play store. Works fine now and no more crashes . Running Civz 3.4 flex-beam rom with his 2.0 kernel.
I just tried the same from the Link apollostees posted and happy to say no more Google Search crashes.
Thanks for the Link.
I took my GNex in the evening from the Assistance Center where they changed my broken MicroUSB port.
They flashed on it 4.0.4 ICS and they unlocked the bootloader.
I update the system with OTA to 4.3 stock.
In order to try the Xposed Framework I used the Toolkit to take root access.
Then, connecting my Google account, when Play Store started to install all of my apps it prompted out an infinite list of error:
first (403)
then (920)
Flashed two times 4.3 stock via Toolkit, locked and unlocked, rooted and unrooted but... nothing.
Also tried to delete my account, delete play store data, delete framework data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik... nothing works.
Phone is uselss in this way... so if anyone has figured out what to do, please let me know.

I seem to have the same problem. I can't update nor download apps from the play store because I keep getting 403 errors.
Everything was fine until I flashed CM REMIX rom. That's when I started getting the errors. However nobody is complaining about anything like this on their thread. I've also tried using different gapps packages.
Could it be a server side thing? My other devices seem to be working fine on the same network...

Hi,
I'm having problems installing the Facebook, Messenger, and Amazon Kindle apps from Google Play Store after switching to Open Beta 8 (Nougat) and doing a clean wipe. It basically hangs at "downloading" (doesn't download anything), then gives me the error 492. Is anybody else seeing this (or not seeing it)? Installation from Titanium backup works, but then when I try to upgrade, I get the same results.
Thanks.

Thanks, I forgot to mention that I tried the all the usual clear cache/downgrade Play Store/Play Services advices. At this point I am mostly wondering if it's an issue of the Open Beta 8. I.e. do other people on that ROM see the same problem or not?

i have not had this issue when i clean flashed the beta8 build from a 100% stock setup. have you wiped data and internal storage too before installing 7.0?
stuff like this happened to me a long time ago, and it was usually caused by some data left over from a previous rom where the problematic apps had been installed
