HI THERE,
i AM SUPER NOOB. DO NOT USE ANY TERM WITHOUT EXPLAINING PLEASE.
i have the rogers play with 2.3.3. i did root it before using that app that would root your phon with just installing it. now after i updated to 2.3.3. that didnt work.
im wondering if now there is a new version of it?! if not please tell me what is the easiest wy to root the phone. and if u are going to help me please speak noob language. dont just say stuff cuz u assume i know it. im new to all this. never flashed any phone or anything like that. lol
thanks a lot. i need this cuz im getting low space msg and i have lotf or rogers crap on my phone that i want to get rid of. thank youuuuuuuu
You are so noob that you did not read the rules posted in this section. You are supposed to ask all questions in the general area.
You need to be saved from yourself so im not answering you question until you read until your eyes bleed.
Some proper English would help. If you don't know what your doing, and need step by step instructions, you shouldn't be rooting your Play anyway.

Go somewhere else.
Go: Move from a place to another one.
Somewhere: used when there will not be much precision about the location you're being sent to.
Else: in this case, it implies that going back to your starting point (that is, this forum) is undesirable, and that your destination should be different from your starting point.

This has been answered before. What's stopping people from hacking this phone is that this phone is relatively new. It had just came out on the market for almost a month and the developers may have not been able to purchase the phone yet.

Just to add to this, the bootloader is almost everything and Sony fixed Gingerbread so that it cannot be exploited using the old fashion means, which means either we develop new means or wait for ICS that we have a new way to exploit.
It may also be that many devs are working on the new more powerful phones, any Sony is really a small underground community. I promise when I get an ion I'll start developing.

I called the dev allocation line, they said definitely maybe we may or may not get some dev support.
I hate being the troll here but why, why ask this same question that others have and further bloat this forum, when no one knows when a Rom is coming.

Good luck with this. Seeing as all the devices are reaching their life cycle it will be very difficult to get anyone to pay attention at this point. I guess the real question is do they plan to create drivers for 4.3 or 4.4?? Kinda doubt it though.

Yes, you will trip the Knox flag, currently no method to reset it. TWRP is fine, just do some reading about restoring backups.. If done incorrectly, you will experience what's been coined "The Brickloop"

Just root it using Odin and Chainfires auto-root method, I'm not familiar with the custom kernel as yet, so I won't comment on that. Once you root, you still keep all stock functionality, just have administrative rights, so to speak. If you're not too familiar with rooting, flashing, etc.. I wouldn't recommend starting right now with the Note 3, still early in the aftermarket development stage..

Considering all of the challenges that people have faced with Fierce bootloops - and for a while no way way to fix them, this is a situation where you would do very well to do some reading before you do anything. There are two root methods currently both are outlined in the Original Android Development Section for the TMOBILE NOte 3 - you can download everything you need from there - and I think it would be very helpful for you to read thru what others have done and experienced before you do anything - then you can make your own decision about which root method is best for your needs.
I don't mean to sound sanctimonious or anything but if there ever was a time that reading thoroughly first was a good thing to do - this is one of those times..good luck

What did my post have to do with your asking for a link? Well, I didn't want to be this direct but If you simply opened the Original Android Development thread and took less than a minute to read, you wouldn't need to ask for a link. You would see that there were two threads available that offered details that would give you exactly what you wanted. Two different ways to root.
In fact, in less time than it took you to write your post and wait for an answer, you would have had exactly what you were looking for.
My response to you was a gentle reminder that reading is a good thing.

I am sorry you felt I was ridiculing you. That was not my intent at all. THis forum is loaded with people who have have had major issues when flashing a recovery which is often the next step after rooting - there are more reports of people who have had to return their note 3 to TMOBILE than I can remember seeing on a single phone in a very long time. My Suggestion for you to read was purely intended to help you - it is easy to let others do the work for you - when often trouble could have been avoided by being more educated. What struck me as odd was the fact that it was so easy to find the link you were looking for - if you only opened one section of the forum in the Original Android Development you would have found it. But that is besides the point.
My comments were always supportive - and intended to help you. Period. I am sorry that you are so caught up in the " I want what I want when I want it "- that you can't see that. XDA is a forum designed for people to learn more about their phones and to ultimately try to get more out of them than you can get in a Stock phone...I have been in your shoes before and done exactly what you did when asking for a link - and have gotten a similar reply to the one I gave you. I am grateful it happened to me because it forced me to take a step back - do a little reading - learn more about the challenges others have faced and in the end, avoid those same problems myself.
Once more, I am Sorry you feel I was ridiculing you - couldn't be farther from the truth - I wish you well and hope you enjoy your NOTE3. Have a nice day my friend.

I may be wrong but I thought that using that option in Wanam Exposed was cosmetic only. It changes that to Official in Settings - but doesn't really effect how your phone is recognized as being 'altered" - LIke I said, I might be wrong, but that is what I heard. i think it's better if u will keep it and work on it if you have time coz you're the destined owner of that device and very very great dev too :highfive: please dont leave us(xperia s/sl owners)
Sad to know, no more cool stuff for the S.
DoomLord, I for one will surely miss your contribution to the Xperia S. I am one of the lucky ones who owns a Xperia S. I have always wished to develop for a device, now that I miss the updates from many sources (u too ) my interest has grown even more. Please do provide links for sources which can help in doing the development.
Doom, you are an incredible guy. You deserve to keep it, sell it, throw it away... Whatever you want.
However, we have a serious shortfall of CM/aosp development. Only raymanfx is working on it at the moment. Before we had letama also, who gave us a great 4.2 & 4.3 aosp build and he worked closely with raymanfx. He doesn't have the phone anymore.
If you wanna do us all a favor, please contact letama and give him the phone so he can continue his work.

CM requires special kernel patches... Unless you can get another kernel booting over the stock kernel I don't think you will get functional CM

Raymanfx is working harder on XS, and his CM11 / kitkat development is good and functional.. Just need more time and work to be near stable..
I wish there's another dev help him
But until that time you may keep it or if you change your decision
Anyway... Thank you Doom you're the best dev!
