I prefer high quality in-ear type headphones. They block outside noise and also sound better (to me). They are also safer for your hearing, because you can play them at lower volumes that other types of headphones. Of course, headphones are a very personal thing and not everybody likes the in-ear type.

I figured it out myself dam Im mad happy my ****s mad loud lol.I got the skullcandy navigator headphones,viper4android and the file I modified sounds like Im in a club ?

[Q] Music MAX volume is too low

Hi All,
I listened to a Note 2 today using my Bose QC15's though the sound quality (clarity) is way better than my Note 1, it still does not have the output volume of the Apple devices ( I have had to keep a iphone for music purposes). I'm quite disappointed. Running volume at max is just not loud enough.
It seems all Android phones have this issue. I have tired all kinds of software solutions with the GN1 but never got the sound quality or volume I desired.
Anyone with the note 2 found a solution?
Install:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...m1vYmkub21lZ2FjZW50YXVyaS5TcGVha2VyQm9vc3QiXQ..
On the device start the Music player >Settings>Sound Alive>Custom>Extended>Bass to 3>Room Size to 2>Claeity to 1.
The subject line really got my attention because just last night my wife and I were talking about how loud tgis phone is. Hands down louder than any other I've ever owned. I even had to lower the volume because at max it was blaring.

I've had no issues with the volume. It causes the whole phone to vibrate due to how loud it is. Maybe you have an option ticked somewhere?

Can't you just up the volume on the Bose?

Use an external headphone amp. Fiio is great.

if your phone rooted, then increase db value of headphones via default_gain.conf /system/etc

...so, according to your logic, a phone can vibrate due to the loudness of a pair of headphones. xD
In any case, I'm wondering if this issue is related to Jellybean and all... Seems to be a common problem that is shared between various devices. 0_0.
I recommend to ditch the bose crap tbh. They're good speakers but dire headphones. Take a look at the Sennheiser HD range. I recommend the 598's or 558's if on a budget.

Once voodoo Sound finds our device, the Sound Quality will be best possible, since we have the wolfson dac! Same as i9000 (afaik).

I doubt about that. Supercurio sayed that s3 will get voodoo sound but after 3 months still no info....
Great replies!
I'll try the volume boost app. I had tried volume + amongst others but always found the sound quality degraded badly.
The suggestion regarding the fiio amp, yes for my note 1 already have a fiio e11 which is amazing and can drive any headphones but carrying a GN1 or 2 with it rubber banded to the back is simply too bulky.
Getting rid of the bose qc15? I commute 3 hours a day, and fly regularly so the noise cancellation is a god send, I've tried many alternatives but never found a better solution.
There is no doubt in my mind that the note, both 1 and 2 are the best phones out there. Way more useful and fun than an iphone, I just wish Samsung would sort out the volume level through headphones as it is the one area which I feel is compromised.

You're wrong. There has been a port for both S3 and the Note 2. S3 was by Gokhan, siyah kernel and now the Note 2 by Andrei, Perseus kernel. It's script based

Samsung have put a limit to 55db on max volume, if want louder, root and change the limit. Or use sounds apps and boost the volume.
For me its loud enough, too high volume can damage you ears in long terms listening and either I got good ears. Or peoples have damage theirs ears by iPhones volumes already.

I just wanted to post that the above mod perfectly sorted out the volume issue.
Using the 57 values has made me extremely happy with the volume levels.
Now with the volume, quality dac inside the GN2 and a good global equaliser it far exceeds the experience of my Iphone for music.

The speaker is loud, and frankly quite amazing, but the problem is with headphone volume.
I'm using Sennheiser PXC450s and WMA files are not quite loud enough for me on max volume. Most MP3 files are loud enough, in fact max volume is too much. However this is with zero ambient noise. Sound clarity is very impressive.

Bluetooth Headphones

Anyone been using them?
I have been using the Jabra Halo 2 bluetooth headset, and they work great on the Note 2.

I use WM600, it's good for listening to music, but the microphone sucks, sot it's bad for speaking, too noisy
I use a jabra bt3030, you can use any headphones you want with it. Sound quality is more than passable, battery and range are good too. Highly recommended.

Been using Plantronics ones on SG 2 and now Galaxy Note 2. No issues with sound quality. I have flexible cord ones. Just need to take of them as would throw in my bag and broke one of the connectors (fixed by super glue and now have had over a year).

I've got this http://www.futuresoundlab.co.uk/
Its got media buttons which i thought sends normal commands like a multimedia keyboard on windows does, but no!!!!!!!! found out it needs to be supported by the app which i find is silly. it works great on poweramp but nothing on deezer
The only grip i do have is when im connected although all the audio streams go through the headphones, the ringtones, notifications, system sounds go through the speakers. So if i mute them, which i have to cus im at work. I dont hear them through my headphones. Any suggestions?

[Q] How does everyone find the Audio Quality

I'm using some Sennheiser IE6 headphones with it surely fairly respectable.
I bought the N2 partially because of the Wolfson DAC, however, I don't quite find it as punchy as my old Galaxy Nexus for sound quality.
Its a clean enough output but doesn't have much clout, does anyone else feel this?
I felt that the sound from SGS3 was better. But it could be a brain related issue.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Sound quality is a good bit about our 'own hearing' I believe...I have found the N2 (international) to be pretty nice actually...even the speaker on the phone sounds pretty nice, better than my S3 or Nexus 7. I use Music Volume EQ also...seems to work well for me.

i don't have a nexus, but compared to SG3, it's a bit better. I'm using Marshall Minor FX for earbuds and I'm satisfied with its quality. On loudspeakers, it could use a bit more volume, but quality is above very satisfactory for me.
I am looking to try it with my upcoming sennheiser px 100ii and a Sony mdr

You can modify the headphone volume from within the phone (if rooted) and it really makes a difference.
Keith
You want more punch, just use the Speaker Boost application from Google play store, raise the Bass from within the stock Player and be careful not to damage either of your ears or the device speaker.

It does change the volume quite significantly, just use root explorer, navigate to system/etc long press on default_gain.conf, click on open with and choose text editor, scroll down the text to headset out and heaphone, change the values of headphone volume to 63, save and exit, reboot and enjoy
Works amazingly. Stock the note 2 dorsnt have the umph in the bass. Coming off from 10years of ipod use it just didnt seem right as I mainly use my phone as a media player... but after the mod amazing difference. Still trying the match the bass and treble perfectly but wow did it make a big difference .
Im using poweramp as my music player for the added customizing very much recommend.

Hissing over headphones.

Hi everyone, with my headphones I'm actually having this housing sound kind of like white noise until I crank the volume to the max. For a better example any audio over headphones sounds like when you have a cassette adapter in your car and you crank your decks volume but keep the volume on your device really low.
Currently I'm running Skynote 8.2 and when I first noticed it it was stock. Then I tried the AC!D sound mod. Although I don't think it did anything but now I'm at a complete loss. I get my music through 8tracks but I also have some music on my sd card and I've noticed the hissing in YouTube videos and when I stream stuff over my network on vlc.
Attached are pictures of the headphones I have, I'll also have screen shots of the AC!D mod.
TL; DR: I hear dead people. ...

Yeah I have. I would have thought that would be the least I could try. One other thing I don't notice the white noise with my builtin speaker just from the 3.5 mm Jack output.

Well it's a bummer that it happens on stock and custom ROMs. You may have leftover files from other sound mods if you have used more than one. I know on some mods you have to make changes in your build prop and restart. I am completely stock and I tried two EQs both of those caused a white noise in Netflix. The stock EQ sounds pretty good in Google Music but does not seem to do anything for Netflix it does lack the white noise though.
Edit: Find a pair of headphones with a lower impedance like 8 or even 4 Ohms to see if that helps. I know you tried another set but maybe they had a higher impedance also.
Having the same issue with my Sony mdr headphones. Does yours also loose wifi when this happens?

Music through headphones?

Evening all,
So I'm on the fence at the minute,
Short story I have the option to get the M8 in replacement for my Note 3 with multiple issues
I dont want to wait for S5 because I'm kinda fed up now with Sammy not changing their S series in design or features for that matter.
So anyway can anyone tell me how good the music is through headphones? I know the dual speakers are amazing just haven't been able to test my music through the headphone jack.
I've believe there is no equalizer on the music app? which is no off putting but I do like to mess bout abit with the sound.
any input from owners would be great!!
Cheers . .

I've played music off the SD card, Pandora and TuneIn all sounded good and plenty loud on my gaming head phones and just as well on a pair of $30 ear buds. Very happy with it here.

Just curious but what carrier is allowing you to make that switch. I'm assuming its because you've replaced the Note 3 multiple times via warranty and the issue has not been resolved...
Yeah that's right the note 3 had same issue on two different phones . . It's with phones4u but I'm with EE but essentially it's phones4u that are swapping

The headphone quality is top notch, volume is super loud, very good for headphones, bass is super punchy and clean, highs aren`t grainy, plenty of power, maybe an inline amp?, hiss is minimal, ink black on most, only trace hiss on my silver cable se535`s which is very very very good, considering they would pick up hiss on my one x+ even when the internal amp was off and no music was playing!. Did I mention the bass was good?, because its probably the best i`ve heard, at least on any mobile device.
I'm glad I'm not the only one switching from a note 3. You say punchy bass, is it similar to cyanogenmods bass boost ?

I had a similar problem with the LG G2. First one I had had the treble was waaay too low. Installed an EQ to fix it, and just assumed that's the way it sounded.
Got another G2 two months later and it was fine out of the box.. don't think it had been updated either. Weird.
Maybe try someone else's M8 - yours may be faulty?

Thanks but its definitely the headphones, reviews made the sound signature sound cool but in reality it is unnatural, even though they were very expensive. Had the same problem with the One X but once I installed Poweramp and fiddled with the EQ they sounded great.

Personally, I don't like to use any kind of equalizer.
If you rip the audio "loselessly"(not in mp4 format, mp3 spoils the quality) from the CD you bought, I think equalizer would be no needed.
As for the phone itself, the build-in music player supports flac file, it should be convenient for us, no conversion needed.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
