NO MATTER THE PROBLEM, IF YOU CAN GET INTO HBOOT (BOOT LOADER MODE) THIS FIX WILL FLASH A NEW IMAGE (THUS FIXING YOUR PHONE; IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ENTER HBOOT, YOU MIGHT NEED TO CALL HTC
PLEASE STICKY IF THIS IS HELPFUL!
NOTICE: This method works for both the ONE V and the T328W and virtually any HTC phone with unlock able and lockable boot loader (with the appropriate IMG tag and the right RUU's!!!!!!!! Don't download these expecting to unblock your EVO!) (thank you CafeKampuchia!)
The process for both these phones is the same; I will be explaining the t328w method, since that is the phone I have, but will tell you the differences when they arise...so do not fret!
THE ONE V METHOD HAS NOT BEEN TESTED BY ME PERSONALLY! (But again, SHOULD be the same....TESTERS WOULD BE NICE)
ALSO ON THE HTC DESIRE FORUM (for the t328w since this phone is like a hybrid of that and this, the one V....and doesn't have it's own dedicated forum hahaha)
Introduction:
Hello Everyone, just yesterday I was messing with gapps on my HTC t328w (since it's a chinese phone, it didn't not come with gapps, so I had try to flash them myself) and I made some mistakes, which basically ended up soft-bricking my device (unable to update gapps since I had merged the entire system folders instead of just copying system/app), and it would not boot to the home screen.
After looking for a while I had found the RUU for this phone, however, the .exe just did not work for me, it wouldn't detect my phone (maybe incorrect drivers, but I can't be sure of that as my phone was rooted using the same computer)...
So after some thinking and working stuff out, I came up with method (well, at least for this phone, it has been done for other phones before), so I present you...
HOW TO UNBRICK THE HTC T328W (CHINA UNICOM) AND ONE V
What you need
-The phone, obviously (try to have battery above 30%)
-***RELOCKED*** bootloader
-The RUU found here (FOR T328W!!!!!) (download the .exe) (Thank you island3r!) and for the ONE V rom (pick your poison) itself
-Micro SD card
Ok!~~~
Let us begin...
1.) Run the RUU exe file (depending on the phone), and when it's done preparing, go to start > run, and type in %temp%, you should see the temp folder pop up...
2.) In the temp folder, look for the file with the longest name (that was my qualitative observation, needs clarification~!), and scroll down and find rom.zip
3.) Rename rom.zip to PL11IMG.zip (for t328w) and PK76IMG.zip (for One V), and transfer it to the root of your micro sd card (with the adapter in your computer, as you can't with your phone...since it's bricked...)
4.) Take the micro-sd card out of your computer, slide it in your phone, and boot into HBOOT (volume down + power button).
5.) When you are at the hboot screen, press the down button once, you should see the phone scan the SD card, it will say in about 5 - 10 seconds "PL11IMG.zip (or PK76IMG.zip depending on your phone haha) found....checking.....loading", there is a vertical progress bar on the top right side of the screen so you can be sure that it's not frozen or something...
6.) After it is done checking, it should bring up a menu to update and say press vol+ for YES and vol- for new, we need to flash this update/restoration so press the the volume up button...
7.) It will do something for about a minute, and go BACK to boot loader, repeat step 5 and 6 (this happened to me, I really don't know if this will happen to others...someone please test this?)
8.) Now that you have said YES to update the second time, wait about 10 minutes (you can watch the progress bar too), and it will say "update completed, press power to reboot"
9.) Reboot, and your phone is good as new!!!!* ^______^
*I mean it when I say that, it is literally good as new; it will wipe everything, and you need to activate your phone again and set up and all that stuff
I NEED TESTERS AND CONFIRMERS....HELP ME OUT WITH THIS METHOD PLEASE
AGAIN THE ONE V METHOD HAS NOT BEEN TESTED BY ME, PLEASE SOMEONE WITH A ONE V PHONE, HELP THE COMMUNITY OUT!
Hope you found this helpful! Post if you have any comments, concerns, or any thing that should be added on (this is my first guide hahaha )
This is a common way of flashing an HTC ROM, and useful because it doesn't require a USB connection. We can do the same with the One V but the filename would be PK76IMG.zip. I've done it with both my Wildfire S and One V.
Thanks for posting it!

Try a different method:

Of course you'll be using the RUU for the T328 instead.

Thanks...part of my problem may be i have yet to find the appropriate RUU file for the T328W. There are several out there, but they dont seem to be the right ones as I get and error about the signature being incorrect.
So to make a long story long! I have a beautiful almost 10 year old daughter who is in need of a phone and I have a droid inc that was giving to me a while back but never was used.. Well I went to power it on and it would just get stuck on the incredible screen..So i did some research on xda and decided to give this a shot through hboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1944012 it seemed to quick to be true which I was correct because it still pretty much does the same thing but I did notice some differences.. I noticed the charging light now comes on when plugged in, the white droid incredible screen looks different then past, also the date on the hboot screen changed from 2010 to 2012.. Any help at all would be super! I am attaching some pictures to show what I get.. Please help times are a little tough and I cant really afford to go out and spend $$ on a new phone..

Best bet is to flash the latest stock RUU. You can find instructions all over on how to do it and you can find the files here: http://dinc.does-it.net/Stock_Images/

Either the ruu you used the first time was corrupt, or you may need to backup your sdcard to a pc, format it fat32 and then put only the PB31IMG.zip back on it in no folders. The lates ruu is here http://dinc.does-it.net/Stock_Images/4.08.605.15/PB31IMG.zip. If that dosent fix it you will need to root the phone and get a custom recovery on there.

Yep..install the android sdk and get the platform tools folder pack. Go to htcdev.com register and skip the boot loader update just unlock it and install TWRP recovery .. Download from the TWRP website I forget the URL right now.. From there rename the recovery image to recovery.img put the phone back to fast boot and open a window inside the platform tools folder.. You should be able to get the download from and s-off guide.. Anyways plug the phone in and type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.. Then reboot boot loader hit boot loader and press the power button and go to recovery and hit power... From there you can mount the phone as a USB drive transfer cm7 or touch of blue my favorite gingerbread choices and flash it .. And flash the gapps package with cm7 to hope that helps a littel
If I am repeating this topic I am sorry and if somebody could put me to the right spot I would be very grateful.
Today i followed this gude:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904
and used the toolkit added:
where i unlocked the bootloader installed the superuser and recovery TWRP 2.3.3.0
I made a backup and proceeded to flash an Cyanogenmod 10. After which i flashed a boot.img kernel from the rom zip.
Everything went smooth but when i rebooted i got stuck at the HTC screen
Since than i tried restoring the backup an sideloading the icejellybean but to no avail. Everything goes according to protocol but i always get stuck at the htc screen. I am in desperate need for help. What am i doing wrong?

Guys I am not a One X user but I am palaning to buy one. However, I wanted to ask that how do you guys switch it off if phone gets into a bootloop or gets stuck at splash screen as One X comes with nonremovable back batteruly cover.
I have Sensation XL currently and I pull battery out if I get stuck on splash screen or get into bootloops.
What is the work around if such situation happens?
Thanks you.

Hello there!
I have never posted on XDA and I hope this is the right section.
So here it is guys:
I have recently installed the KitKang ROM from a tutorial on this forum (XDA LINK) for a friend of mine on his HTC Desire ...
Now whilst the phone was in perfect running order, I even managed to create an EXT partition for apps on the SD card and installed a2sd, worked like a dream for a few days ... when he was watching youtube one day the phone rebooted and since then only boots into HBOOT, the volume keys do not work to navigate, the power button does nothing, I can't even get into recovery mode.
I have spent 3-4 hours carefully reading forum posts and tried everything ... nothing works as the phone is not even being recognized when plugged in to the PC with USB.
This is the troubleshooting guide I used along with many others! LINK
I've tried my best to resolve this problem and NOTHING is working
I only get the white HBOOT screen and everything else is unresponsive (tried putting the Alpharev img on the SD, that doesn't work either).
JUST TO RECAP:
- No recovery available
- Unresponsive HBOOT
- Phone does not work with USB (only charges)
Can someone please assist me, I will be very grateful!
Info:
-REVOLUTIONARY-

HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101
RADIO-5.11.05.27
(the date which is wrong)
I am not a complete noob when it comes to android but not very advanced yet.
I just want the phone to go back to stock or any other STABLE ROM.
Thank you very much for all your help in advance.
Try booting directly into fastboot (using power + back). Then plug it into a PC via usb cable. Does it say "FASTBOOT USB" on the screen?

I just tried that now but nothing happens, it boots straight into HBOOT and it is still unresponsive, my computer still doesn't recognize the phone. Tried different ports and cables too... have you got any other suggestions? Maybe there is something I'm doing wrong.
Can anyone else help? I will appreciate it a lot!

I have already tried this method, my bootloader doesn't read the file, gives me back a few errors.

Make sure the PB99IMG.zip file is on the root of ur sdcard (not inside a folder) thats prob why u get the errors in green writing

Strange it should detect it even if it won't properly flash. Double check:
It's named:
- "PB99IMG.zip" exactly, think it even requires all upper case.
- not "PB99IMG.zip.zip".
I don't mean to sound insulting with the second one, but I've seen it done
Hey, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the phone doesn't detect the file, I am 100% sure. What ill do is get another sd card, maybe my one is corrupted somehow.

The phone does not go any further and I cannot navigate through this list if I am even supposed to be able to do that.

Can't figure this out to be honest.
When you boot into bootloader with the PB99IMG.zip image, it should do a scan, then find it.
Then it should give you the option 'do you want to flash it?' or something like that, press power to select I think. Was so long ago since I had to do this myself. Does it resemble anything like this?
Make sure u put the zip in the root of sd.

Did u check the MD5sum of the file? Cant really think of why it reads it then not let u choose to flash it.
Yes I did. Everything is fine with the file. I dont get it either ... I started suspecting the buttons being broken ... but it doesnt explain why the phone turns on yet cant use the power button to select any options. The volume buttons do not function at all. I get into HBOOT just by pressing the ON button and then it turns on.

Your in the stock recovery pal. Hold down the power and volume keys and you will eventually get some options on the screen. Once they come up use the volume buttons to scroll and power to select. Btw, i suspect you have a htc wildfire S not the htc wildfire. So this would be the wrong forum for you if your phone does not have a trackpad at the bottom of the screen (looks like a circle with a dot in it) then you have the S model.
HTC Wildfire
Thanks for Replying back Its not letting me to run recovery and on the top of it if the phone boots up it take almost 20 minutes to get to the home screen and it hang sup their itself you can't even do anything on it and i am trying to unlock the boot loader to run recovery and install custom rom on it but nothing working out. I do have a trackpad on this mobile and i checked over the internet also and its Model number is A3333. So Please help me what all option that i can use on this mobile right now as i am totally new to Flashing Android Mobiles.

So this would be the wrong forum for you if your phone does not have a trackpad at the bottom of the screen (looks like a circle with a dot in it) then you have the S model.

Okay, pull the battery out. Then put it back in after 5 seconds. Hold down volume down, then power and keep both pressed down until a wite screen with some writing comes up. There it should say hboot, a version number and s-on or s-off. What does yours say?
HTC Widlfire
Well I am sharing the screenshot

Ah ha! Fantastic whoever else had this phone before you has done most of the hard work and security unlocked the bootloader already. http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.c...zip?key=kzoSRLwAaSgJsyXiuKJS4A&ts=1431506306 download this and place it onto your sdcard. Reboot into hboot and your hboot should request you to update the recovery. Select yes with volume up. After this you should reboot back into hboot without the sdcard in. Then select recovery from hboot and boot into it.
Once your in recovery you could either:
1. Wipe the data, cache and dalvik cache and then reboot the phone. This will reset the phone and hopefully fix and voot related issues.
2. Wipe the phone entirely and install a new rom. Cyanogenmod 7 is a good lightweight rom. Please look at the development section for all the roms available.
Just one question though, that screen damage looks like bad. Do you know what happened?

As I have said I recommend Cyanogenmod 7. Read the thread here Its a custom version but its more recent.
Now your screen, I suspect that those marks are from heat damage. Most likely from whoever else had the phone overclocking it. This could be a telltale sign of hardware damage through excessive use and it may never boot properly. I thought I should mention that.
Well i thats case would like to ask one more thing we will be able to fix it or not or its not worth it.

Depends, this phone is an old model as far as mobile phones are concerned. the cost of a motherboard and new lcd + digitizer could be the same cost as the phone in a used condition.
I work it out as £23.13 as the cheapest you could get the parts but then you would need to do a full tear down of the device in order to replace most of it. I mean basically your only keeping the frame, trackball, camera and some rubber bits.
Cheapest I can find to buy it in the uk is £25 ( with you needing to sim unlock it).
But I would add that you might as well try get cm7 on the device. The only thing it will cost you is time and you never know, the phone might be usable with CM7 on it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
OK bro let me first give a try with the cm7 rom and see if its work and hoping for the best

Sorry, i forgot to mention, the controls for the recovery are different from hboot. Push trackball to select items, power is now the back button.
