2. Factory reset
3. Try opening my google account to see if it is blocked?
4. remove and reinsert SIM
Issues are persistent in every Google services namely Google Play, GMAIL, chrome etc.

Try creating a new APN -> Thethering & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access point names -> New APN enter a name, same APN and Port Number as your current settings and save( Don't add anything else). and select it as your access point.
eg- name - newapn
APN - ppwap
Port -8080

Hi All,
Am sure there are many threads - did a search but came up with nothing like mine. O2 Branded XDA Orbit with Vodafone SIM.
Upgraded from Default ROM to WM6 Bepe version - everything seems fine except my GPRS Connection.
CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
Rom 3.4.207.1 WWE
4/18/07
Radio 2.49.90
Protocol 4.1.13.25
Model ARTE200
I have tried connecting to GPRS using my VODA SIM - which I know for a fact IS enabled for it as I was using it on my XDA-IIs - Now I just cannot connect to the GPRS to access my gmail or anything whatsoever.
I entered all the details for Voda-GPRS manually and also from CAB from this site and still cannot connect - it starts to connect and says the "connection was disconected" check settings...!!!
I am at my wits end on what the problem is !
Any ideas?
Dev
A couple of months ago I had an HTC Beta of WW6 and had to wipe it as it would not connect, same as you. Afterwards, I found out that WW6 install resets varions Connections settings incorrectly (part of beta).
Go to Settings / GPRS settings and make sure you have CHAP selected
My install had PAP selected.
Jeff
Sounds to me like the rom you have used has a feature/setting that disconnects GPRS connections for whatever reason - possibly to stop programs from auto connecting with GPRS.
Have you checked with the creator of the ROM to see if anything like this was implemented in to it? It may be fixable with a registry tweak or setting.
Mine worked both Bepe and B&B V2 ok.
GPRS:
1. Click on Start > Settings > Connections tab > Connections
2. Under the heading 'My Work Network', click on 'Add a new modem
connection'
3. The settings you require are:
4. Name = Vodafone MMS
5. Modem = Cellular Line (GPRS)
6. Click 'Next'
7. Access Point Name = wap.vodafone.co.uk
8. Click 'Next'
9. Username = wap
10. Password = wap
11. (leave the Domain field blank)
12. Click 'Finish'
Thanks Guys - Worked fine - Seems I was giving the APN wrong...
Well finally atleast it's working now...
Now only to get the Blackberry connect to work and I'm on cloud nine !!!
Hi I was trying to set my dad up with my old wizard.
He's on vodaphone and I've been able to get the GPRS working using the above settings (I also had to add a proxy server of 212.183.137 - type - HTTP port 8799) but IE is now browsing the internet.
However when I try to connect to a imap mail account it just says connecting, then says failed to connect, check settings.
Does anyone with a vodafone account know if you're able to connect to a personal mail server?
Are there any more specific proxy settings?
(start -> settings -> connections -> manage exsiting connections -> proxy settings ->advanced)
Or any advice from someone who's been able to get this working.
Cheers
Matt
All Carrier UK Settings
I downloaded this from the HTC Site - It has the settings for all carriers...Maybe this will help.
Thanks tried this, but it has an APN of internet and these settings always give me the
'answering modem has disconnected error'
I used to get the sae error and then I called up Vodafone and told them. They reset the SIM from their side and things started working fine.
OK thanks for that. I'll just hand it over to my dad with GPRS working and see if he can get his sim card reset.
Cheers
Matt
I had a problem accessing 3G when installing a new rom. After flashing a few roms and finding out that roms were not the issue, as well as applying a few radio updates and changing radios and a google on the internet, I found out what was the problem. The access point was not set up. Defrost's rom based on cyanogen mod had the massive APN List preloaded, hence I never ran into that problem. However, most roms did not.
Here's how to set it up
Creating a new access point
When you need to add another data connection on your phone, obtain the access point name and settings (including username and password if required) from your mobile operator.
1) From the Home screen, press MENU, and then tap Settings > Wireless & networks.
2) Tap Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
3) On the APNs screen, press MENU and then tap New APN.
4) On the Edit access point screen, enter the APN settings. Tap an APN setting item to edit it.
5) Go to this site and find your mobile network company name
6) Modify the settings as said
7) Press MENU and then tap Save.
You should now have working 3G!

I thought you already had a thread on this and a mod said to post this in general?
If you think its apn problem, install the rom it works on and then download apn backup and restore. Use that to backup apns and then when you install a rom you want, use the same app to reinstall the apns you backed up.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Good advice, but this doesn't need to be in development.

Moved to General as not development.
Was toying with random toggle widgets and 3g data stopped working. I accidentally hit reset to default in the hidden APN settings and it just deleted everything?
Can anyone help me with APN settings or a simple solution? Thanks mucho.
Did you try updating your profile by going to settings -> about phones ->system updates ->update profile ?
If that doesn't work do you know specifically what settings you need? For example, do you need dsa server, mmsc, etc? I might be able to tell you the settings I have.
Updating profile doesn't work, it just gives an error. Funny enough, my 4g works fine.
Need a whole giant list of things though I was hoping their would be an easier way
Name
APN
Proxy
Port
user name
Password
Server
MMSC
MMS proxy
MMS port
MCC
MNC
Authentication type
APN type
Go back to DI18 via Odin, update Profile + PRL, then odin back to DK28, then reflash whatever ROM you were using.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing Overstew... I'm on syndicate, so I don't have those options above. I tried looking elsewhere but couldn't find anything either regarding those"default" settings.
if you know your msl try doing a data restore, ##3282#, it should restore it back to defaults, but your device might not go through the ota programing
Does anyone know if there is a way to back up those pesky hidden settings just in case something bad happen to your phone?

BTW you should post in Galaxy Note 2 Q&A forum ( use xda device search engine to locate it)
A modem change might give you results only after you have checked your APN ,
Quick Guide
First Check your settings > about phone > status > your phone number ( IF UNKNOWN )
You won't be able to send SMS by any third party sms apps or Have a Network connection
Solution :-
You need to edit that "unknown" number to your phone number, by putting your SIM card on any old phone that has a "my number/owner number" option, (most old phones do). Edit and save it to the proper phone format as your Sim Card number (Example: +63913XXXXXXX). Now put the SIM back to M110S, to solve this problem.
Than check your system settings, in Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.(APN) as provided by your Network provider . If your Apn is not set, you wont be able to have data connection, so set it first
If still no data connection, Common Trick is to toggle WIFI and Airplane mode or
1. Turn ON WIFI
2. Set the phone to Flight Mode
3. Power down the phone for a few Minutes
4. Power it back up
5. Turn OFF flight mode
6. Turn OFF WIFI
Should get Data back

If you have followed the install instructions exactly as they're outlined in the first post (i.e., Full clean flash, re-installing modem etc.), go to Settings > under Wireless & Networks, tap ... More > Mobile networks > Access point names (apn's) - check the latest apn's from your network provider and add them in, if different than what is shown.
You could also try the 'Network settings reset' under the 'Wireless and networks' header and see if that helps.
