Hey everyone,
I have noticed this issue as soon as I moved to an AOSP ROM. After I reboot the phone my saved wifi networks are all gone. Not sure why, anyone else experiencing this? If so, is there a fix?
FYI, I am currently running Liquid Smooth 6/19.
Thanks.

I am a new member, but I have been lurking for a while. Moved to the M8 from the HTC Jewel. I spent most of my time lurking in that forum. Actually, liquid was my daily driver on that phone too.
Anyway, when moving to a new ROM I always do a full wipe (both caches, system and data). I left my external SD alone when moving from the HTC Jewel. And, now that I think of it, I never did a wipe of the internal card either. Might have something to do with it...not sure.
Edit: Someone else is having this issue too...

Ok, I did a full wipe for both Caches, System, Data, and the internal SD card and I am still experiencing this issue. I am using the Liquid gapps too.
I'm stumped...

Ok, I think I may have the issue narrowed down. I have always installed the GAPPs immediately after a new rom. I decided to try to just install the ROM, boot to the system, reboot to TWRP, then install the GAPPs and Bam! So far my wifi settings/networks are not disappearing anymore. Not sure why the previous combination would cause such a problem.
If anything changes I will update the thread, but I have high hopes....

As far as I know, all the AOSP ROMs are having issues with wifi networks not saving. My understanding from what I've read is that the HTC wifi drivers are not open source and/or easily accessible to the developers.
This is a known issue (at least it was last week, not sure if it's been fixed since then), so I don't think you're alone. I'd try reading in the CM, PA, SK, and LS threads to see if anybody has found a fix.

I'm aware of the issues associated with CM6 RC3, but when I installed 6.0.1 today, I booted, the touchscreen was non-responsive, but the scroll wheel allowed me to reboot.
Initially, I forgot to install the stock htc kernel over the hydrakernel I had for Sense (#2), so I put that on. When I rebooted, my screen was responsive, but I noticed a lot of page tearing, and my "SD Card is damaged. May require a format" or some such nonsense.
I'd like to try CyanogenMod but thats a major issue to me. I followed the wiki guide to a T, so its not like it could have been install issue. I reverted to Virtuous 2.2 for the time being, so I find it hard to believe my SD card is damaged, especially since Virtuous doesn't come up with the error.
Any thoughts or ideas that could fix this? Anyone experience similar issues? Thanks in advance.
You should be using the CM6 kernel only. I'd guess that's the source of your woes.

Only use the kernal that comes with the rom. CM6 is very picky when it comes to custom kernals. I tried to flash hydra and kingx kernals and no go. Just use the original kernal and u should be good.

Make sure you're wiping data/factory reset and wiping the cache partition in Recovery before you install a different ROM.
There's also an alternate kernal you can flash if the stock CM6 kernel is giving you problems - search the RC3 thread to find it.
Thank you for all of your feedback. I'll have to do some thread searching to find that kernel. I assumed that may be the issue.

Just reflash the rom and it will include the kernel. Just make sure you have set cpu or some other app to underclock your processor if need be. It's clocked at 1.15 and that gives my phone a bootlooping and crashing party.

Its not the SDCard that requires formatting. It is the internal phone storage. If you view it via Astro, it should appear ok.

I thought 6.01 was clocked to normal speed and if you wanted the overclocking you just get 6.0 instead.

I think that 6.0.1 is defaulted to 1GHz, but you can o/c it if you want to with SetCPU or similar.
The kernel that comes with cm6.0.1 is already great. i get the best battery life i have ever had on my incredible. It can be overclocked to 1.15ghz
When I downloaded it defaulted to 1.15 so I guess YMMV.

Slow down and read everything over a bit better.
Hydra and King usually state somewhere SPECIFICALLY that they DON'T work with/support CM6. You don't need to find any kernel, just WIPE your device properly ( wipe data/cache/dalvik) before you flash it. Once flashed don't try any kernels.
Also understand there are known issues with it. One is that BT music streaming doesn't work at all. The other is that the OS doesn't scan the built in 8gb of memory. The third one is that you may experience a random reboot or suddenly get a black screen and unresponsive phone when using wifi. It may happen in 30 minutes, it may take 12 hours. It may not happen at all. It's not even close perfect yet.
The only issue I have seen so far is random reboots and yesterday when I booted up my Phone all my widgets were brown boxes and said they were not compatible, a reboot fixed that.

When you mount your phone via usb mass storage it is mounting more than just the /sdcard/ and /emmc/(internal storage)
It is mounting /data/ and /system
If you're running Windows it will ask you to format these partition's b/c it cannot read them. Do not format them because you will then have issues mounting those partitions and you would have to RUU/PB31IMG.zip
I have already seen this happen to more than two people.

Gah, that's still happening with 6.0.1? I was hoping that would be fixed since the official source drop from HTC.
I'd really like to give an AOSP ROM a good run on my Inc, but that's a deal killer for me.
Thanks for the heads up though.

I have had NO reboots at all since putting 6.0.1 on 2 days ago - and I connect to Wifi at least 50% of the time. Today, I moved toward overclocking, but for the past 2 days I have been running stock speed

Exactly what I experienced. I went half a day with it seeming perfect, then out of the blue I pick up the phone and it's just off and nothing I do will get it to come on. It's either pull the battery or wait several minutes and suddenly it finally reboots on it's own. It doesn't happen to everyone, but it happens to enough people to say it is a definite unresolved issue. It's very good otherwise, as soon as these little issues are cleared up It will be the ROM for me.
My phone was running great for about a week with this rom but today it has shut itself off twice. I am also using the ics theme. Any ideas as to why its doing this all of the sudden? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

First off are you undervolting? Secondly if you have an issue like this it can be the cause of a few things. Did you restore data with Titanium Backup?
Also, even though it may not be specific to this rom if you do a search on here or google for random reboots you may find solutions that others have had. I understand the rom may not be the same but quite honestly this is a semi-common issue with custom roms and this question has been asked quite often.
Good luck and when in doubt wipe/format all and just load the rom and run it for a few hours without any apps
Did you put that theme over a stock rom?
odexed?
I put it over the blazer rom which it was made for. I cleared delvic cache and cache partition and it hasnt rebooted since and that was hours ago. Is that something you should do every once in a while to keep it running good?

Also no I am not undervolting or overclocking or anything like that. All system settings are default.
Well I thought everything was ok with the phone but it is restarting again! I am getting really frustrated I love this phone but I dont know how much more of its bull**** I can take! I am getting ready to throw the ****ing thing out the window! How would I know if I am undervoltin or anything like that? I did not mess with any system settings when I installed the rom.

I did not do a full factory wipe because in the directions he said to just flash the blazer rom 2.0 then a modified calkulins wipe then flash the 3.2 He said no data wipe was required.
Hey I was just wondering could this be caused by a faulty sd card? I noticed yesterday that when I went to access my sd card it was unavailable. Could the sd card bieng faulty cause a system crash that would lead to a reboot? I do have some apps installed on the sd card.

If you really want to fix your issue you have to troubleshoot to death. Do it all, format sdcard, do a clean install and anything else you can think of. Thats the best way to troubleshoot. Just nandroid your setup now and use TB to save data and go for it....
Don't worry bout asking us since a response may not come fast enough so just jump right in and get your phone up to speed. Or your can odin a stock EL26/13/30 rom..
Hi.
I installed a custom ROM (CM10) yesterday but ever since then, when the screen is turned off, it will restart after about 1 minute. If I try to turn the screen on again before 1 min, it'll restart. In other words, when it goes to sleep, restart will be required. Please help me on solving this issue. I searched a lot and I thought maybe it has to do with the maximum CPU frequency, I tried changing it but didn't help.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
What did you wipe during the install? And what ROM did you install?
Probably to start the best thing to do is redownload the rom, do a full wipe (cache, davlik cache, data, and system), then reflash the rom.

Thank you for the response.
Yes I did wipe the tablet (a full wipe as you mentioned) before flashing the ROM.
First I had tried Jellytime Sosei and when I realized the problem, I tried "Build 4 Linaro Stock" from this post but still the problem exists :/ Before installing the first ROM, I had done a full wipe, but not for the second one.
Thanks again for helping me.
Try a full wipe to build 1 from the sosei thread, build 1 or 2 from the linaro thread, or the original cm10 thread. Those were the most stable for me. It's a weird issue, so it's probably a bad download or flash issue.
Its screaming bad install or bad settings, wipe twice then flash again, make sure to change nothing for speed, governor, io scheduler, and stock included kernel.
Don't even install an app for OC. It may be a huge bug showing for the first time, if we go carefully we'll find it, or get it going properly again. Occasionally the blackhole wipe used can clear up flash issues, but wipes internal sd as well.

I'm gonna give those three that you said a try, when I get home. But, can you give me the link of the original CM10 thread that you're saying? I thought there isn't one for A100, since I didn't find it on their website. Is there a official CM10 ROM for A100?
There is no Official CM10 for the A100, Romman was referring to this link for the original CM10: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792634
OK, after wiping everything twice and also wiping internal SD, I flashed "Build 2" from CM10 Unofficial Builds thread. Apparently this one doesn't have that bug and everything is fine, but the problem is that it's buggy and clock doesn't show well and when you press recent apps button, the overlay doesn't cover the bottom of the screen. So, I'm gonna try and flash Build 1 or maybe newer Builds and see what I get.
But is there a work around for the clock and other bugs problem in Build 2?

There isn't one, no, but it was corrected in B4. I think. I'm building this stuff without the device so I can only go by reports. You're reporting issues that no one else has, is your device functional otherwise? Like is it ok on a stock Rom? Using the correct gapps, any other changes or mods?

It was totally OK on the stock ROM and this never had happened, not even once.
I'm using the gapps that I got from your CM10 ROMs thread, which is apps for v 4.1.2. I haven't changed ANYTHING else in the tablet, no mods or customization at all... :/
P.S. I tried Build 4 again, this time I fully wiped everything before flashing, but again, the bug still exists. gonna try some other guys' ROM to see if the problem is with this ROM or it's from my device.

I hate to create threads, but I haven't seen this issue anywhere. First, I know all phones are not created equal. But, they ought to be somewhere in the ballpark, I'd hope. Currently, I'm running Slim 4.2.2, 3.0-based, no problems. However, I wanted to try out a few different 3.4-based ROMS to see how unstable/stable they were and what they had to offer, as I'm sure Slim will be moving to 3.4 in the future. The problem is that I can only run CM10.1's newest nightly. I don't have any problems with that. Now, any other 3.4-based ROM causes all sorts of problems. This includes, but is not limited to, AOCP, Task's AOKP, and PA (all the newest versions as of today in the Development thread). What happens is when I flash - and I always wipe EVERYTHING except external SD... data, factory reset, cache/dalvik, internal SD, EVERYTHING - the phone boots, but as soon as it boots, everything starts crashing. I can't even get past the setup wizard. I've tried fixing permissions, reflashing over and over, different recoveries, you name it. I've tried different 3.4 kernels figuring it was kernel related. Same thing. Nearly every app on the thing starts crashing. Does this sound like a case where my phone just doesn't like the 3.4 bases yet? And if so, why no problems with CM? I'm not flashing anything besides the ROM base and the GAPPS. I'm just curious if anyone else is having these issues. I understand there's some problems with 3.4 at this time, but from what I've read in the threads, most people are able to boot and get things set up. Any help is appreciated.
Not at all sure if this is your problem but are you sure your using the right gapps package. Just a suggestion.

I appreciate the response! I'm actually back on TW for a bit. I was using the correct gapps, but I never actually verified my MD5's, so it's possible I just had a few bad downloads. Once things get straightened out with 3.4, I'll make the move back. I seem to be the only one with this particular problem, so it has to be either my phone or simply corrupt files. Thanks again for your help.

I recently unlocked and rooted my LGOG to the Dirty Unicorns 4.2.2 aokp ROM. Since installing the ROM I've been having on and off data problems, as in sometimes my data works but for days at times it doesn't (in the same areas as when it previously worked). My WiFi is working fine but this data problem is irritating especially since I'm out of contact when I leave WiFi range.
I searched the Dirty Unicorns 4.2.2 thread for possible solutions but no one else has reported this problem. I also have searched this Q&a thread and saw people suggesting to update the PRL but I am unable to find how to do that with this new ROM (I knew how to do it on the Stock UI).
So any help would be greatly appreciated. I love everything else about this ROM except for the data problem so I would prefer to keep it for daily use.

Tried Lifeless which turned out to be a horrible choice because the phone now randomly reboots. Upon flashing the ROM, it wiped my SD card and in the process deleted TWRP from my device. One solution I have found is to flash another ROM (I'm going to go with Vectus) but without FreeGee I cannot access recovery to flash the new ROM. I cannot keep my device from rebooting long enough to access the Play Store and combined with the fact that I need to sign in the Play Store to enable my Google account on my device (therefore eliminating the option of installing any programs online), I am unable to access FreeGee.
I originally started this process to just fix my data (by installing a Stock ROM to update my PRL) but using everything I have done has exacerbated or created more problems. If there are any solutions or suggestions from any of the more experienced users I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you.

Just to reenforce what sleef said. LGNPST with the ZVB.bin. That will definitely fix your phone. Another option is use teeny bin. Then in recovery, flash the stock odexed ROM by TheShadow1. It might not cute your problem, but it's a shorter way that might work.
