Knox counter - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Is there anyway to reset my Knox counter back to 0X0? I have a Note 3 from T-Mobile running 4.4.2 and bootloader NE6.

As far as I know, you have to replace the main board inside the phone. Unless Samsung knows a different way.

Try it and let us know what happens. ...
But seriously, if you do some more research, youll find that 99% of the folks will tell you to put it back to stock to cover yourself and also so you dont run into any issues....+ its easy to do

You can also just Odin it and it will be factory fresh and with no root
Correct me if I'm wrong

Yep, only thing to check is your flash counter. Depending on how op rooted it could be tripped. Just boot into download mode and check it. If it's tripped use triangle away app.

Well I format the phone by accident and it was just stuck on bootloader and they still took it for full trade in but I know I got screwed but oh well I still use my note 2 from sprint

But I think even if you didn't format or unroot, they well still send back to factory reset themselves and the T-Mobile reps in store aren't exactly tech savvy

I agree with above posts to put back on stock to be safe....but I did buy the nexus 4, unlocked it, rooted it, and returned it within 2 hours (speaker and screen were horrible) and returned with aokp on it. They didn't even turn the screen on to check. Nor have I had T-Mobile give me any crap for it since. It's been 2 months so I think I'm clear lol

Can you use the factory reset to un-root the phone?

Root mk4

I'm wondering if there is a way to get full root on 4.3 mk4 yet and if so would you mind posting instructions for it?
Thanks in advance

If you dont mind voiding your warranty there is a method under the general tab how to root stupid knox or something.
If you are like me and you do not like the idea of possibly permanently voiding your warranty then you patiently wait for someone to crack the bootloader (like they did with the international version)

So the sprint store would always be able to know I tampered with it, even if I was able to unroot?

Yeah if you have the knox bootloader and you root it, it trips the bootloader voided warranty sign. So yes if you unrooted it would still show warranty voided. Whether sprint will actually look for this/care is yet to be determined.

Root first the unlock or the other way around

Hi, I have a Tmobile galaxy note 2 that I am not using because I have a note 3 but anyways I wanted to know should I unlock the phone first then root it or do I root it then unlock it. The phone was has not been updated to 4.3 yet. It was an exchange from one that I had that had under warranty. Thanks

i don't think the order matters but i personally would unlock then root.

Question regarding Knox and Jump

I just switched from Verizon and picked up the note 3. It's awesome. Now that I have had the phone and the "new" is over I want to flash a rom. My question is that when my 6 month's are up and it's time to trade in, would it be an issue regarding rooting and knox?

Nope, all they do is check to see if it powers on and works, I actually did a factory reset right in front of the sales rep on my ONE, when I "jumped" to the note 3

Flash counter question

Why is anyone worried about resetting the flash counter that goes up each time we use Odin?
Other than maybe trying to get a replacement on warranty?

Its for Warranty.
Besides warranty if counter advances the ota pushed by service provider on phone wont install. Reads as custom on phone.
