Can we be able to do that or do I need to un root it?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Try it and let us know what happens. ...
But seriously, if you do some more research, youll find that 99% of the folks will tell you to put it back to stock to cover yourself and also so you dont run into any issues....+ its easy to do

You can also just Odin it and it will be factory fresh and with no root
Correct me if I'm wrong

Yep, only thing to check is your flash counter. Depending on how op rooted it could be tripped. Just boot into download mode and check it. If it's tripped use triangle away app.

Well I format the phone by accident and it was just stuck on bootloader and they still took it for full trade in but I know I got screwed but oh well I still use my note 2 from sprint

But I think even if you didn't format or unroot, they well still send back to factory reset themselves and the T-Mobile reps in store aren't exactly tech savvy

I agree with above posts to put back on stock to be safe....but I did buy the nexus 4, unlocked it, rooted it, and returned it within 2 hours (speaker and screen were horrible) and returned with aokp on it. They didn't even turn the screen on to check. Nor have I had T-Mobile give me any crap for it since. It's been 2 months so I think I'm clear lol

Can you use the factory reset to un-root the phone?
They are nice looking and did you hear what they said that our software upgrade is on its way for note 2 and gs3....

Don't give a crap about the watch.
Guess what? They'll write the pairing code just like all the other Sammy-exclusive hardware like AllShare etc...so that rooting your handset to not spend a year waiting for a TWiz update will break any connectivity with the rest of the Sammy device ecosystem.
As to the Note2 and s3 update. Hope springs eternal. I'll believe it when I see it.
I'm lucky enough to have expendable income. I'll have the Note 3 day1. But I refuse to become **** Tracy with that watch.

Hmm...I want the note 3 but the nexus 5 isn't too far off and it should have a 5 inch screen this time.

$300? Yikes. I guess that's expected. Maybe I'll jump on it when it eventually gets to the bargain bin. It's just too obtrusive for my tastes
Sent from my SPH-L900 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yea $300 for it is a lot the note 3 probably going to be $350 with 2 year contract. In tmobiles case no contract . But same rules still apply -_-

Looking for a smarter smart watch (more activity functions, that can last longer then my workday, if even) and not sure about the Note 3... I know what i'll say is sacrilegious around here but, i'm kinda satisfied with my Note 2. I do have my upgrades on account so I might be talking smack right now. Lets see what the hype machines can spit out from now til release. But I am eyeing the Note 10.1(4) though....
All I want is our upgrade to 4.3 I am happy with my phone .....plus by the time I can upgrade my line the note 5 will be out lol

I will be getting the Note 3 later on this year or next when all of the bugs have been fixed. As for the watch, I rather get my hands on Google Glass when it's released to the masses!!!

Will you guys be staying with Samsung or will you guys be jumping ship to (HTC,lg, etc) with the whole Knox crap its really disappointing me
Sent from my SGH-M919 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'll be sticking with Samsung unless the S5 is a disappointment. If that is the the case I'll be going back to the nexus line of devices
Sent from my SGH-M919 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I think I would get a nexus or htc, never had either one but wanted one for a while.
Seeing as how I just dished out full retail price for this phone a month ago.. I'm gonna rock the S4 for another 1.5 maybe 2 years. Like I did with my Galaxy S2. I skipped the S3 and went to get the next one. So maybe an S6 in my far far future
I'll stick with Samsung/T-Mobile 'til they don't have the best phone/service available.
T-Mobile S4 is the best phone in existence. I assume the T-Mobile S5 will be, as well. I mean look at our development section compared to anything else.

Well the HTC one was neck and neck with the s4 and the reason why I got it was because of the remove able battery . and now this whole Knox crap is here its turning me away. Idk I guess I just have to see what these manufacturers have to offer this year

The dev section (like most other phone specific forums) is 8,000,000 cyanogenmod aosp vanilla android roms ... and 3 touch wiz ones
I will stick with samsung unless the s5 sucks if it does i will go to htc

It's not like you can't get rid of Knox?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
So I just switched to t mobile and got a new note 3, coming from a Verizon note 2. I went to check unknown sources box and it's Grey and can't be checked. Does anyone know why? I even looked on my wife's new gs4 and unknown sources can be checked. I'm planning on rooting, I've just been doing my research on the whole knox bs. I've had a lot of android devices starting with the original DROID and they've all been rooted custom roms and tweaks. I'm no expert, but I know my way around android devices. Thanks for the help.

Update, I rooted and still grey. Any ideas, anyone have this problem?
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
If I were you, i would install a custom ROM and go from there.
If you want to stay stock, try flashing the stock deodexed ROM. Should work after that.
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I might do that. Do all the note 3's come with that box uncheckable, or did i get a weird one?
Thanks.

No problems here. Complete Stock. Unrooted.

Who else is upgrading to the gs5 just because your jump upgrade is now eligible or just because you want the latest and greatest.

Contemplated while it was still in leaks, but then saw the actual product.
I really love the removable battery, and the SD card slot. But come on, that design. I always discourage people from HTC, but this time I just can't go with Samsung. It'd be impossible for me. That or the G3.
I'd need to hear you can root and flash without tripping Knox.
I would hate it if my phone said sea android not enforcing on start up.

I agree, but I don't care about tripping Knox. As long as I can root and flash fine, I'm good. That's why I'll only get it after it gets root.
I would move to HTC but I hate the fact that they are moving away from removable batteries. Big big decisions

I don't care about tripping Knox or my warranty. But, I don't want the warning message on start up.
If I could just block it or something I'd be happy.
