Hello
I'm looking for a way to install java runtime on pocket pc (windows mobile 6.1 on hp ipaq hx2495). I've been looking all over the internet for a specific download, but I'm not very experienced when it comes to java, and I don't know what to download. To be more specific, I'm trying to run this java program called DGuitar (http://dguitar.sourceforge.net/en/index.html). Thanks for the help!
Woot! Something I can answer...
There are a few answers though;
First you can use IBM's J9 which works just fine on the WM standard versions (no phone).
I find that Jbed is a much superior JRE for the Pocket PC but there are a few files you need. There was a post awhile back here on the boards so credit goes to who ever figured this out (a freaking genius!)
You need to have two dll's in your windows directory. They are SMS.dll and Phone.dll. You simply need to unzip these files, copy them to your pocket pc's windows directory and restart your PDA. Once you do this you can install many of the HTC apps like HTC home, HTC today etc and Jbed.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

1. welcome to xda-devs
2. read my MIDlet Bible in the General forum (and, as a rule of thumb, make sure you always read my new - and past - articles & Bibles).
Thank you very much. It work for my HP4700+wm6.1

Someone have try it?
Thanks.

Hi!
After i've read an article yesterday, i've tried to access the marketplace. For me (here in germany) it worked fine... But the selection isn't very big. You can download apps like facebook for free. But mostly you've to pay for the apps..

Hey everybody.. i hope somebody can help me out here.. I'm looking for an app to control my powerpoint presentation via a bluetooth connection on my Touch HD.. I used to use the Windows Office PowerPoint Remote.. but since I've changed my operating system to Windows 7, the program is not compatible with Windows 7.. so to say the least, I'm in a bit of a pickle. Hope somebody can help me out
See if this works: http://www.salling.com/clicker/

It doesn't say that
Working on my HD.

Hi and welcome to XDA, unless you can find a custom or official ROM for your device, 6.5 isn't gonna happen
Sorry
Hi @Badwolve1 thanks for answering my query. Some months back someone did give a file Cynthia_6.5_Final which did upgrade my mobile from 6 to 6.5 but it has been a poor experience with battery draining, issues with Caller ID and a whole host of small bugs.
From the above file name if you could help me out and help me reinstall 6.5 on my mobile it would be really great!
I have seen lots of posts here showcasing 6.5 screens etc... wanting me to have the upgrade fast!
Thanks in advance for the help
Any update on WM 6.5 upgrade for this model? Thanks in advance...
Other than General Mobile - the phone also looks similar to HKC G1000
You could check myhkc dot com site > products > G1000
Thanks
hello,
I a new member on this forum and would like to thank the moderators and admin for setting such a nice and informative forum.
I am a system level programmer and have worked on C and assembly for almost 8 years now. I have limited knowledge of C++ or CSharp and thus writing here for some help or advice.
I have to design an application (for windows mobile 6.1 and port it on HTC touch) that will place a customized icon on home screen and on click of this icon will open a URL. Thats it.
Which win sdk classes or building blocks should i use? How can I code it?
Thanks for your time and help in advance.
