Could anyone try to port this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783192 to the G Pro?
I tried it but failed due to my lack of knowledge :crying:
But i think here are several developers that can make this dream true
If someone would take this projekt it would be very AWESOME!
Thanks in advance and please share this with developers that could make this happen :good:

Hello P930 Devs,
Thank you for the great work so far. Things seams to be pretty stagnant for our phone waiting for CM9 stable and official ICS release.
A little background. I work for a PCB assembly shop and stumbled upon the AOKPCB ROM reading through other device's forums on XDA. I would love to port this ROM to our phone however I have no knowledge or experience to do this.
I was wondering if one of you would be willing to take this up as a project? I would be very grateful and will help in any way I can. Or hold my hand while I try and do this myself (I have no idea where to start ).
I've also contacted the ROM's team for support.
Thank you in advance for anyone willing to help.
Already supported LG devices:
LG Optimus 2X (p990)
LG G2x (p999)

Thanks NO!NO!. It's good to know that some work has been done for the AOKP on our phones. However it seams that that thread/ROM hasn't had any activity in a while.
I would love to pick up where they left off. However, as I mentioned before I'm not a developer and have no idea where to start but I am willing to learn.
I was recently talking with a fellow xda friend about expanding my developmental work to more/different devices and it was recently suggested that the LG Optimus G would be a good place to start. So, what im asking for is either a lg optimus g phone that someone is willing to donate or an optimus g that someone would like to let me borrow for a bit. I do not believe in 'blind porting' or putting out work for devices that i can not personally test myself to ensure that they are up to par before release. I have been developing for about a year now and have contributed to the Samsung Infuse4g forums during that time. You can check out my work from the links in the signature or by visiting the samsung infuse4g threads. You can also take a look at my source files at http://www.github.com/scotthartbti. Please rest assured that if a phone is donated, I will put in work so that the optimus G community benefits. Please PM me with any questions or concerns you may have.
The problem is, there's quite a few Optimus G out there, so which one do you want? Location is an issue too.
You can get a Optimus G for $300 of Kijiji.

Since im asking for developmental purposes, im not going to be picky... Doesnt really matter... the point of asking for a developmental phone for donation is so that i can develop for the Optimus G and not take a hit in the wallet doing so... Im located in the USA.

I believe he means there a god only knows how many versions of the handset, and they are not completely compatible.
So if you buy an E973 for example, rest 80% Optimus G users will be out.
The best choice, would be the E975 EU model. Im sure, it supports more languages ( i guess ). Its pretty new in EU.
We really need a CM dev or aokp/aosp dev here.
I know LG is knowen for slow updates to their phones. But with some gr8 devs, thats not a problem
Im getting this phone tomorrow and im a bit scared of the lack of devs here. I really hope, there will be some more activity in the devs section soon. Or els im sure im going back to HTC again. This is lg's last chance with me
Sent from your moms bed!
Lg optimus G e975 10a,good!!

Thanks for the info. Thats why I started this thread asking for a donator optimus. I have gotten the infuse to the cm10 stage unofficially and have been maintaining it since day one. You guys need developers, find me a phone. That way the community will have more variety and I'll be able to develop on a different device. Check out the infuse forums and you will see that I'm definitely capable.
Hopefully that doesn't come off sounding to cocky.

I'd rather see some LG based ROMs... Stock ROMs are nice and all, but the LG has done a very good job with their software.
Is there anyone here working on an Ubuntu Touch port for the LG GPad 8.3? I plan on getting one of these awesomely spec'd tablets in the next few weeks, and it'd be great to have UT on it.
Thanks,
Shiggity
To add to my post here, there's work being done on port the KitKat Android HAL, and once that's done in theory UT can be ported to from my understanding to any platform easier. I'd be willing to help with such a port, but I can't do it alone. Anyone up for it?
I'm between jobs right now and have a G pad 8.3 coming in this week. I'd like to help working on this port. I've got 25+ years of development under my belt but no Ubuntu yet. Should be a fun project to get my software chops tuned up again.

Thanks for you interest in my idea! I can't code for beans, but I'm sure there's something we can collaborate on. I'm ready to start on this when you are!
interested
what can I do to help?
Skay, have you gotten your GPad yet? I'm still eager to help with testing stuff etc.

Count me in for helping, if there is anything I can do. No development experience yet though. Cheers

Considering you would have had little to contribute other than "coming up with the idea" all is not lost
I'm sure such a project will pop up
Is anyone still working on this, because I have a G Pad 7, and was looking to see if there was a port for it.
Hi all, looking for someone that can port the app 'Qremote' found in G3-G4 so i can use it in my S4mini running CM13 (android 6.0).
i want it so i can control the LG devices in my house via infared which the S4 mini has. (other options are not satisfactory)
Can it be done? if so im willing to donate towards your efforts.
PM if you would like to talk more about it. Thanks in advance
theres is a cm qremote for G3 if you search on google. maybe ask the guy who did it. and it can control many other brands not only LG it has alot of them, and in G2 you can make the qremote learn a device if it isnt listed.

yeah i have although it is all specifically for lg g2-g4 phones or LG phones in general that have aftermarket firmwares, not other manufacturers devices like samsung s4 mini for example.
Although the ports were targeted to LG phones with an ASOP rom, i have an ASOP rom too so i tried various methods and experiments to install it anyway and see what would happen, but nothing in my favor (cause i have NFI, hence im looking for someone that would have a the skills to make it happen.
