Hi!
I have a strange problem with one desire...
After changing the broken lcd screen, the display is very yellowish, everything witch was "white colour", is now yellow...
I have tested 4 lcd-s, changed the rom (multiple ROM-s), but same result...
Strange is even when i try to make color correction with Calibrator (calibrated-signed-42-Universal)... i can change red and green, but changing blue is not working to obtaining "white"...so it remain the same color with values (for blue) from 0 untill 1000.
Is there an another program to make color correction, or is a hardwere fault?
Any ideas?
Thanks
How exactly are you changing the "lcd"
There are two types of screen that the desire can use (depending on your model) amoLED (led!) or SLCD (super lcd). So unless you replace your screen with the correct replacement type for your specific handset your going to have strange issues.
Maybe you should take a very close look at your display, with a magnifying glass or a microscope and check if the blue sub-pixels work at all. It seems as if they don't work and you get amber colors.
I have received the phone with broken display, after power on, it was dark screen no display...so obviously i changed the lcd with the same model, wich is a Samsung (AMOLED i think), P/N: 60H00287-00.
I'm pretty sure it's the correct type of display if anything is being displayed. The problem might be the connection between the mainboard and the screen. Perhaps you've accidentally damaged it when changing the screen? Maybe you should post some pictures of your assembly showing the connection. That might let someone see the problem and suggest a solution.
if you need to understand better the problem i can upload some photos of the Desire...
The assembly is correct, i checked it, i think it`s a micro crack on the mainboard, suffered during the shock, so i will resolder the contacts... i will keep u updated...
meanwhile, i wait other opinions also..
I have found the problem...It was the filter near the lcd connctor...they are 3 filters...for each color...RGB...so after resoldering all of them, and 6 hours of work...it`s working...

nice, hasn't taken you too long to identify it really either.

I have the same problem as you, is it possible to post instruction and a picture .
I would like to fix the problem and don't know how.
Best Regards
I was playing with my GF's Nook the other day and thinking about what a nice size it is for e-Reading. Now, I realize it has a higher screen resolution that WP7 doesn't support, so I wasn't thinking of going that far.
But I did get to thinking: is there a 7", 800x480 capacitive screen on the market that could be made to simply "plug in" via the same type of connector as the focus uses, and just work? In that case it wouldn't be *too* difficult to transplant the rest of the focus' guts into a bigger chassis (maybe adding a bigger battery since the extra space would be there anyway). Anybody thought about this or have some idea what one would look for?
Thanks!
So I'm guessing nobody has any idea or interest in exploring said idea?
The chances of that working are pretty darn slim. I'm not really into the hardwaret thingy, but I'm pretty sure you would need to know what interface to the display is used on both devices. They need to be the same, or you'll need to find a way to convert the signals, which means a lot of work and room for error I guess.
I would say it's possible, if you find a device with the right resolution and display interface/controller.
The display itself should work, since a display is just a display... It only receives data what to display. But dunno if the touchscreen would work out of the box, maybe different systems use different protocols in sending/receiving/processing data from the touch panel... But then again, I don't have my diploma yet
The displays must have the same controller. Or using the controller from the Focus - but don't forget, that it is AMOLED, so it might work totally different.
I don't think it is possible without too much effort. You should get some x86 tablet and run WP7 emulator on it . Or make an app for the W7 that looks like WP7.
Basically you would need to have two drivers, or make the other side compatible with existing drivers.
The screen and the touch panel.
I don't know what type of touch panel you have, but WP7 uses capacitive screens, this is a big requirement because you won't work around it easily.
The way the positioning data is transfered matters allot, because this can kill the accuracy at the least.
Next, the screen needs to know how to display the data received from your device, I assume the connector won't fit out of the box so thats the first challenge. Then you need to make sure it's receiving the correct data over the correct lines. It is not the same as plugging in a D-SUB/DVI cable.
So, if you have knowledge of some hardware modifications (electro) then you will stand a chance, otherwise you'll probably end up wasting two devices.
If you can spare both, I would say go for it. Otherwise I would think twice if I were you.
Yeah, I'm way too lazy (well, too busy with school) for all that . I was just randomly thinking about it the other day, how nice it'd be to have WP7 on a decent sized screen for an ereader, given that the Kindle app works great on the device. I guess I was hoping that there might exist, essentially, an "embiggened" version of the exact same screen, with the same connector, to simply be driven off the Focus' existing controller and hardware. Capacitive, obviously--WP7 on Resistive would lick all kinds of donkey balls, I'm sure.
Hey everyone,
So reasonably recently I bought the Find 7.
I absolutely love the phone, but I have not been convinced from its display's brightness.
Now I've looked around and can't really find a definitive answer on the net. I have however found a lot of talk of the LG G3's brightness being low in comparison to Samsung phones.
Considering both the LG G3 and the Find 7 use the same display - is this a norm then?
I would just like clarification and potentially pics from XDA members!
Attached are my pics. Note: Both phones have the same wallpaper and are both at 100% with power saving modes both disabled.
Here's a video demonstrating what I mean too:

Actually, G3 has two versions of panel. One being LG's own display and one is the JDI panel. From what i read from the forum, most people have LGD instead of JDI panel on their G3.
I didn't compare my Find 7 (X9076) with a lot of different phones, but I did compare the brightness with my friend's G3. Both devices have about the same level of brightness when turning to 100% brightness.

I see and did you compare the G3 to another device?
In other words, if the find 7 and g3 have the same level of brightness - does that mean they're equally low in comparison to say a Samsung?

Sadly I didn't have a chance to compare my friend's G3 with other devices. In fact, I don't have any other new devices to compare the brightness with. I was using Galaxy S3 before switching to Find 7, and the Find 7 is definitely brighter than S3 in 100% brightness. Same result when comparing my friend's Note 2.
However, according to this article, Find 7 actually have lower nits than the G3 and S5: http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Oppo-Find-7-Review_id3744. I'm not surprise that the S5 has higher nits in max brightness than the Find 7 because S5 has 1080p display, but the result for G3 is kind of interesting to me (maybe because it is using the LGD panel and my friend's G3 has JDI panel?)
So, my answer to your question: yes, the brightness of Find 7 is relatively low compare to S5.
By the way, did you turn on the auto-brightness on your Find 7?

See that really makes me wonder - what I have pictured is the S3 - the S3 on 30-40% is brighter than my Oppo Find 7 at 100%.
Have you got your S3 at hand for potential pics?
This looks like as I'm going to have to send it to Oppo.

I don't have my S3 with me anymore , and the result on your picture is kind of weird to me too, but it looks like your Find 7 is not turning the brightness all the way up though. Is your auto-brightness on? Also, do you have power saving mode on?

Check the video bro - power saving off, brightness on 100%, auto off.
EDIT:
I mean check this pic I found fo the S5 vs LG G3:

My bad I should carefully read your first post before commenting :laugh::laugh:
I would suggest you to get a replacement if that is possible.

No worries at least you've helped me out somewhat
I would love other people top input their ideas too!
Hey guys, Deepesh this side, a month back my OnePlus 3's screen got broke and I was left with a broken display phone. Recently a friend of mine informed me about a new device which showed up at his office for R&D purposes. Its the OnePlus 3T sent for testing purposes, I'm still unaware that is it the 64GB variant or the 128GB one. Anyways, he can bring a piece for me and I can change parts with it for my current OnePlus 3 phone, preferable only display. So my question is is this possible for me to change as many parts as possible!?
I would have changed the whole phone but I don't want my IMEI changed and also I don't like the gunmetal color and MOST importantly, development of 3 is better than 3T as of now.
So for now all I'm gonna change is the display/touch panel, internal memory(if possible) and battery(+400mAh). I would love to change the front camera module too(+8MP) as its easy and worthful but that would need different cam drivers and that would be a pain in my ass to edit every ROM for my needs.
So all I wanna finally ask is is all this above possible in the long run?
How shall we know if it works? I personally highly doubt it. The battery needs a driver, too. Also the frontcam needs other drivers than the One of our op3. I think, either you take the whole phone, which I would recommend and do, or you will have to order a display for the op3.
If I just change the battery it'll not work? Its just a higher capacity nothig else changed!
Batteries aren't compatible between the two. At least that's what Jeff on OnePlus LiveChat said to me yesterday, probably something to do with it's increased voltage. Maybe if you replace the charging port (USB-C) too. Then there's the PCB... You can check how to do it here. If you decide to go ahead and try it please report here. I'm guessing a lot of people would like to know if it's possible.
Screen should actually be very easy to replace as they're both the same panels.
You can take OP3T's screen and that's it (because it's the same).
Internal memory - forget it, it's soldered.
Battery - won't work. It's actually physically the same, not bigger. The difference is in voltage (firmware).
Camera - similar situation, you'd need new drivers.
Tl;dr: you can't change some parts and not the others, either you have an OP3 or an OP3T.
Might as well just take all OP3T parts and put them into OP3's case, if you prefer that color. Obviously you'll get new IMEI, but that can be manually changed back.

Also a quote from reddit
I think it will work just fine because the phone charges until a certain voltage is reached. So the nominal Wh of the OP3T battery in OP3 will be 12.92Wh instead of 13.09Wh (that the battery of OP3T is capable of). Now, the OP3 has 11.4Wh so it will be an improvement.

The higher battery will work, but you won't be able to charge it to full capacity. You can ask Moxie if he can make you a kernel that will charge to 4.4V though. 😊

I am looking for an external display for my galaxy s20. The constraint is that I want the display to be between 7-9 inches and should be a touchscreen so that I can control my phone using the display. I see that this is available from a company called Wimaxit, however it is much larger (13.3-15.6 inches).
Does anyone have any tips about where I can find the display/monitor I want? I am happy to spend time/money to build one if someone can point me to the right tutorials.
Thanks.
