hi there, nobody posted any lock app thread yet so here it goes.
I tried Go unlock but i think it hogs the resources over time and become laggy.
anyone else can recommend a sturdy one to install?
or any good rooting mod for this to make it 100% smooth?

Try the MIUI lock screen. They made it free and available through Play Store. You have tons of styles, themes, and all you ever wanted from a lock screen..
thanks, tried MIUI just now.
It has the 3dot menu on the lock screen after setting lock screen.
so i suppose the 3dot menu mod will get rid of this.
still feel bit un-smooth with MIUI tho.
some reason the sense one is the best so far
Try this.

Does someone know a metro-style lockscreen that runs stable and hasn't got the 3dots menu enabled? I just tried a few but there was none that really worked. Unfortanetly, for I love the tiles' look alot.
Another question: is it possible to change the icons of apps on WidgetLocker? And is the 3dots menu disabled?

I run widget locker myself, lets you have all sorts of different unlockers as well as run widgets and separate wall paper, umoung other features, all on the lock screen.

Hello,
I use widgetlocker on my One X. Yes, you can change the icons af the apps. Also there is no "3dots menu".
When you install adwnotifier you also get notification-count numbers on the lockscreen like in the normal sense lockscreen (for telephone, SMS, Mail[GMail and K9]).
I like it very much and use it in combination with apex launcher on stock rom without root.
Only the sense3 lockscreen from widgetlocker is a little laggy at my phone.
Thank you. I've installed WidgetLocker now and I like it. One problem though: I've got some icons in .png format that work great with Apex Launcher. But if I try to add them in WidgetLocker, they'll get a black background instead of a transparent one. So, how can I use these icons?

Install a custom rom or install Apex Launcher.

Thanx 4 the reply mate... bt i am not looking to unroot my phone as of now...
I tried the go launcher , it was good but it showed lags on my hox..
I like the sense ui interface of home screens , just dont like the application page... bt apex launcher would probably
Work above the sense interface nd would ruin my phone....
Any other way out... i also use a sgs3 and it has a perfect app screen .. dont know why would htc not notice this ....

not at all, you might not be able to uninstall the sense launcher, but it doesn't stay in the memory. just try the free version for a while, you'll see..
IMO Nova and Apex are the best and the fastest on ICS at the moment. They provide lot of features and customization options. But unfortunately none of the 3rd party launchers support sense widgets (i.e Clock, People widget, calender etc.). If you don’t want to root then there is no way to have sense widgets and custom app drawer.
Thank you all for the response . I will try out both the launchers and would get back with the experience.
Go into apex settings and set drawer opacity to 25.

I bought a HTC One V unlocked and rooted.
Now the only difference I see are the widgets that are not very customizable,
I can't access them by long pressing the screen and I can only add them like Ido with icons.
I can't really personalize this phone because there is only one simple scene, lokc screen shortcuts do not appear when the phone is locked ,i don't have the weather widget that every htc has on the startup or when the phone is locked.
Can I change these so I can costumize widgets ,scenes, and add the weather widget (launch bar) on the lock screen????
Is there something like original htc one v launcher that makes it look like the original

Are you running a different launcher?
Replacement launchers cannot add apps and widgets from the app drawer without root access.
Exit the custom launcher, and use sense.

Hi There,
I'm using HTC Desire 816 from last three months. I don't like the vertical scrolling of apps. Is there any way to change App Drawer from Vertical to horizontal without using any launcher (as launcher causes fast battery drain).
Thanks in advance.

Nope, however I will suggest Nova Launcher, as it has horizontal scrolling and a lot of other cool features. I don't know where you heard launchers cause battery drain, but they do not. They might even save battery because they don't have to run blinkfeed which from what I've heard is quite intensive.
In fact, what your using right now is a launcher. It's just the default launcher that HTC made.
hi guys ..i have updated my desire 816 to 1.58.401.11 and after that my weather animation disabled and i cant put it on lock screen plz help me
why no body answer me ?
I'm sorry but I'm not 100% sure what animated weather you're talking about.
Are you talking about the animated weather that shows when you unlock the screen and /or the weather live wallpaper?
If so, HTC chose to do away with them in Sense 6. I think the last version to have them was 5.5.
I ask because I know some earlier versions of the 816 came with Sense 5.5.
thanx for reply
ya i mean the animated weather on lock screen, and and also the demo on weather widget not animated anymore
just lick a pic ..
i wanna know if that on all htc sense 6 ? or this is a problem on my device ?
and also can i downgrade to 5.5 ????
