Everything else seems to be fine....has anyone else experienced this? Faulty battery? Simple annoyance?
That is some damn fast charging... Has this happened only once? Can you exchange yours locally? Might be a symptom of a future problem or something small that will never happen again. Most likely the latter
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yep, happened again. Only this time it spiked to 100% then dropped down to the real level......then never changed. I restored to factory. I'll report to see if it happens again. I learned my lesson on the last Nexus 7. NEVER buy online. I'll return it to Best Buy for an exchange if/when it happens again

No, multiplying twice by zero.
Blah......although the batter is holding its charge.
Another tablet....and its doing this again. I can't be the only one...... I'm thinking its app related...and not hardware.
Mine has done that twice that I've seen.

I'm thinking this is simply software related.......
Sorry for resurfacing this subject, but I present you, my recently bought Nexus 7 2013, bought in Germany. Stock Android, non-rooted, app used: battery widget reborn.
Any thoughts yet?
Mine is doing this as well. I'm pretty sure I've noticed it since I got it a few days ago,
The battery life seems fine though. Could this be just software related?
Seems more likely to me then the battery actually spiking it's voltage. That'd be potentially more serious...

Hey everyone,
My Nexus 7 (2013) is having the same problem with battery graph. There are about 2-3 spikes to 100% in every discharge cycle.
I noticed this problem has been reported in different cycles, but no one seems to be able to give a definite answer of what the source of this problem is.
BTW, after a reset to factory settings, the problem still persists.
ANY idea why this is happening???

I got my Nexus 7 2013 a few months ago. Never had a problem on 4.3 - discharged it, charged it without a problem. I usually keep it 80-100%. But 4.4 has yielded terrible battery life so I'm letting it drain more because ... it doesn't last 1/2 as long as when I had 4.3.
Got my first spike last night.
Been quite a while since I last saw a spike. Not sure at all what fixed it. Don't specifically remember uninstalling an app when it stopped, might've been the stock android update.
Happens sometimes. Stopped when I updated to 4.4, as did the random reboots. Wouldn't worry too much about it
Meh, still happens on lollipop...
I found my Nexus 7 switched off after idling for hours today and my battery level dropped from 100% to around 75% after around 7-8 hours with wifi on.
The battery graph was zigzag like with a few sudden increase of battery level within minutes. Sorry that i forgot to capture the image.
Moreover, the device was crazily lag and the screen turns on 10 seconds after I pressed the power button on and every requests took a lot of time.
After reboot, I decided to backup everything and flashed the stock nexus image and see if the problem still exists.
After a few hours of usage, I checked the battery stats in setting and it noticed that Android OS was using more than 75% of battery while screen just used about 5-10%.
I also found the device was hotter even if I am playing less cpu and gpu demanding games, like Coins Dozer.
Web browsing, switching between apps are little bit lag than before.
My device has restriced profile, rooted without installing any custom roms and kernels and is protected by a leather smart cover.
Is there anyone experienced this before? Thanks:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
I have the same issue, it might be caused by smart cover...
Could you try to remove smart cover?

My problem does not exist now. I am not sure if it is because I switched off google sync.
I don't think it is related to the smart cover
This problem has happened again:crying:
Anyone can give me some clues to solve it?
I have the battery monitor widget and system tuner widget wakelock for a few hundred times but I have them installed on my Nexus 4 also which does not affect the battery drain by Android OS.
I have really no idea on what happened:crying::crying:
Please help

It does help after wiping but this issue comes again after few hours. It makes my devices laggy and the antutu and quadrant benchmark scores are much lower than normal ones.
Is there anyway to resolve it completely?

Guys, i got good news. It is android o.s related. Wasn't the hardware after all.
I'm using aokp builds from Dev forum, with Franco kernel and the issue is suddenly gone.
Looks like the people at aokp reverted some commits which was causing this.

So I recently purchased a bargain priced g pad here in the UK. I am currently an Ipad air owner(boooo) but wanted to get an Android tablet and this seemed like my best option. But I have to say that I am really disappointed as it it laggy as hell and the battery life is pretty poor.
Is this normal or am I the proud owner of a dud? The lag occurs in stock launcher and apex. It also happens in browsers, namely chrome, Uc and dolphin. It even lags when browsing threads on tapatalk.
I have factory reset it and no joy. I am outside the 7 day return period and so kind of need to fix the issue if poss.
Thanks in advance for any help that can be given

I find my g pad smooth as well and no issues. Very happy with speed. Now my galaxy s3 phone, that is laggy and looking forward to next upgrade
Im pretty surprised with how much people are getting lags.. even with stck unrooted out of the box i dont get these lags.. although i knew it can perform better.. for the people with lags try rooting and installing the malladus custom rom.. suped up stock rom with most of the lg software in tact..... as stated in that forum the way the stock rom should run.......... much smoother when running anything and everything...... try it out..
Ran pretty smooth stock

I've also observed some stuttering while using my V500 (especially scrolling webpages).
The best way to test this is to choose image from gallery, zoom in and drag it around furiously
Sometimes its smooth and works as supposed to, but most of the times after a second or two it stops responding to finger movements.
No idea what to do. I like LG stock rom, but this is a deal-breaker for me
I have experienced really bad lag playing jetpack joyride. Anyone else experience this? Running stock.

I rooted mine and installed cyanogenmod as soon as I got it home. The stock ROM isn't great, getting almost vanilla Android on it makes for a much nicer and snappier tablet

add the task manager widget, how much Free RAM is there when it lags?
I'm usually at 600-730 free RAM and the only time it lags is when closing out a game and quickly launching email or Chrome app from home screen.

Is there any other app that lets one fix the black levels? The G Pad without any fixing of the black levels isn't that great for watching shows, movies or playing games where details often can be found in the darker areas. And trading better black levels for more lag (or having to use the Performance governor isn't great). I even noticed watching shows with Screen Adjuster made the FPS a bit jittery (like it's missing frames here and there).

That is not a lag, that is either defective digitiser or drivers within software. Ive got exactly the same issue on mine, suddenly it just stops responding when dragging my finger across the screen like it was not touched.

New one is definitely working better, however it still feels like it misses touches every once in a while. That could be a software issue though, it was with my Nexus 7 2013.

I just had digitizer replaced by LG service center. New one works great, no problems at all. So it was a hardware issue after all, like michal_alton suggested.
Hey guys
I have bought a Nexus 5x but recently I have noticed it lags like hell and it gets hot around of camera
Is it because of encryption?

Usual Android tips would apply in that case. Most likely related to apps you have running as 24/7 background services, check your Developer Options > Running Services to monitor those.
This device is smooth and snappy. Even when its maximum throttled point (hot) it's faster than a Moto G (cold) which is no slouch itself when it comes to unskinned Android.
LAG
I have an unrooted device and randomly I will get really bad lag. I feel it a lot more when I am using the camera app and trying to switch from one app to another. The solution that works for me is clearing out the cache.
I boot the phone into bootloader, I get a random error (forget what it says), then hold the up volume then and power at the same time for about 3 seconds. Then let go of the volume button. It will take you to a different screen where you can choose clear cache.
Hopefully this helps.
Same problem here. Mine even lags when composing a text as the characters get more and more. Very frustrating.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using XDA-Developers mobile app
I have the same lag issue, the overall RAM usage is around 1,6 of the 1,8 GB which last not much space for caching apps or something else.
Clean up the cache is not the solution for that problem.
I'm very frustrated with this issue because I use multitasking and therefore the 2 GB RAM seems to be not enough. Right?
My wife has a oneplus x and it feels snappy, and this is more consistent, the Nexus slows down from time to time.

Hello guys,
I'm going to buy nexus 5X, I like nearby every thing about the device and don't mind if the battery is not great. but the thing which could be deal breaker for me is the performance.
I read that the device is not very good in multitasking and lag in soft usage and my questions here are:
-Are the device still lag now ( 4/5/2016) ?
-Are the updates make a big change ?
-Can you tell be about the nature of lag ?
Thanks in advance

There is a minor lag problem and most likely it won't bother you. But the phone has heating problem. It only occurs when a resource intensive application is running. Of course if you like rooting and custom roms, ths heating problem goes away.

(1) No carrier or manufacturer bloatware. (2) Monthly security updates. (3) Actually getting version updates.
6 months with my 5x and no lag. A smaller portion of users were experiencing slow downs but that was resolved with OTA updates.
Anyone still experiencing slow downs is related to usual Android stuff, ie. bad apps.
Thank you guys, I have ordered one.
I will tell you my experience when I get it.
I'm using this phone without lag issues.
I saw a few people on reddit who said that the latest update (May) has improved the performance of the phone.
