[Q] Samsung\Touch Wiz Clock app for ASOP - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Do anyone have the APK for the standard Samsung\touchwiz clock app that will work with a KitKat AOSP rom? I have searched but the only apk I've found is the one I already have or older ones.
I have the old SGS3 that work with Jellybean but it does not sound the alarm and only posts notification. When you select the notification it starts the alarm and force closes. I would love to have a newer APK. I like that clock app much better than the AOSP one.

Alarm workaround for those who removed the htc lockscreen!

Ok, so for those of us who hate the the Sense lockscreen and removed that abomination, i came up with a workaround for the alarm. This is my first time attempting to help the community, please be easy on me
So here's the situation, i removed the Sense lockscreen so i could have the vanilla android lockscreen (more useful). Two problems arised:
1. The lockscreen is transparent, and honnestly i don't mind, but i know some of us don't like it
2. The 1st alarm (i.e. when the screen is locked) cannot be dismissed, since it is tied with the Sense lockscreen, so we would have to wait for the reminder with the screen unlocked, or set the alarm one minute ahead so we can dismiss it when it goes off again...
As you can see, that's not a very convenient solution, so i thought of an alternative and it worked it's pretty straight forward as it involves removing the htc clock app and reinstalling the DeskClock.apk.
Here's what i did:
1) went in root manager and removed HtcClockWidget.apk and ClockWidget.apk
2) installed DeskClock.apk (included below)
3) restarted the phone
There you have it, the stock android clock may not be as cool as the htc one, but it gets the job done and takes care of the "1st-alarm-in-the-morning-waking-up-the-whole-house-because-it-wont-shut-up" thing!
Hope it helps!
hey - thanks for that. Same thing happened to me (woke up the whole house!) so this is great.
does the DeskClock take care of the transparent lockscreen as well?
Or just install a 3rd party alarm app from the market
I use "alarming"
Does the aosp Deskclock app have a timer function yet? Because that's yet another issue for me xD

Unfortunately no timer. The only thing i miss about the htc alarm is the way you could set the time.

It doesn't take care of the transparency, but i can live with that. I guess we have to wait until some talented dev figures out a way to fix this

Stock alarm clock widget

I have flashed to CM9 and I really miss the stock alarm clock widget, which has a ton of options including a voice that says the time and weather for the day. Does anyone know if there is an apk for that widget or where I could find it? I've been looking through the stock roms and can't seem to find it anywhere.

If you were able to pull the apk, I don't think it will work on cm9? I can't say for sure, but if you ask this in the cm9 thread, someone may know better then myself. Good luck!

They have a SGS3 launcher zip over in the Gnex forums. I think the widgets are an option on one of them. You could try to flash that. As far as mms, Im not sure if the Touchwiz one will work on AOSP with out the Touchwiz framework.

You might try pushing the stock messaging app to your system. If you have the weather widget and launcher installed, then you have the touchwiz framework, so it might work. I personally use inverted aosp mms.apk on my own touchwiz roms, I just theme the icon to look like touchwiz.

Hey!
I was wondering how to properly do this on a ROM such as Paranoid Android. The messaging application there from the GAPPS JB 07/26 package sucks. I have over five hundred contacts, and when I need to send a mass message out, I need to be able to type in a handle and select twenty or thirty people to send a message to at one time. The messaging application from the GAPPS JB package cannot do that.
For instance, let's say I have 100 people with the tag "OSU" in their names. If I type in "OSU" into the "To" field... all 100 of them will appear if I'm using the stock messaging application. From there, I can decide who to text and select their names.
The GAPPS JB messaging application cannot do this. It's weird. It's like the contacts list doesn't come up as it would on the stock messaging application.

[Q] Any know of a similar SMS app to the one in Cyanogen 10 Jellybean ROM?

I prefer to use a modified Touchwiz version on Jellybean for my S3 but I want to use the quick reply feature from the notification pulldown menu like cyanogen mod does it. Is there a way to install the SMS app from that ROM or another app that does it? I've tried GoSMS and Handcent and they don't do it...
Image on the right in the link below is what I am talking about.

ICS Weather widget and digital clock on JB??

Just updated to the new Jelly Bean. I like it so far except I miss the old Accuweather widget and digital clock on touchwiz.
I know the Jellybean version has them as well, but I don't really like them. I was wondering does anyone know of a way to get them on jellybean?
I tried just take the apk from my old ICS rom, but it won't install. Any ideas? Or if anyone knows about versions already out there, I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

Try rooting and moving the apks to /system/apps rather than installing
