Is it possible? I know I can run N9005 ROMs but I want stock but not tmobile stock lol. How would I go about flashing it so it doesn't flash the modem? That's the only part I'm really worried about
Thanks

DO NOT FLASH FIRMWARE, THAT DO NOT BELONG TO YOUR PHONE....
you can brick your phone....
you install the latest firmware for your phone.... then you can install any rom of your choice....
if certain functions do not work, you can flash a kernel one of the developers make, to fix your phone... for your model...

I make them plain stock, look at my signature... I don't root them, if you want root, just flash superuser from chainfire and busybox from the appstore, I always download them and make a copy to my sdcard... I have the stock roms nothing done to them, plain stock just renamed the knox files with .ori at the end of them., and firmwares for almost all the roms..0...
edit: just uploaded UPDATE-SuperSU file, all you have to do is flash that and stericson.busybox-1.apk

This will update your software to LI3.
The update contains firmware updates as well as a Kernel update too.
The update contains a file that will reflash the stock recovery every single time you reboot your phone if the digital signature doesn't match, but I have removed it from this rooted version I'm uploading. I will upload that file separately so that you can get the stock recovery back without worrying about Odin, then from there you should be able to apply the update manually from Sprint's servers and get updated firmware. Keep in mind that if you choose to accept the OTA from Sprint, it will only apply if you have unmodified system files and an unmodified kernel.
You should only do one or the other. If you flash this rooted update, you will no longer receive an update notification from Sprint. So you will need to either revert to a nandroid backup or reflash the stock software in order to update all of the firmware.

Stock Recovery to flash in Odin: (Don't rename it.)
Stock Recovery
If you download the Stock Recovery to flash in Odin, open Odin, press PDA and point to this file. It will flash only the stock recovery, allowing you to accept the OTA and update your firmware. This method will only work if you have a Stock kernel and unmodified system files.
Sweet thanks! Do you know what the update changed or included? Anything good
Sent from my S3
I'm still confused as to which of the two I should do. If I read that correctly it seems that anytime we want to do a firmware update we have to use the stock recovery instead of CWM?

The firmware is, but with HTC phone, if you do an OTA, they 7/10 times have a new, locked hboot, which makes taking an OTA a SERIOUS problem. With unlocked bootloaders [like our GSIII], you basically just need the stock recovery, then re-root.
And the unrooting option available will reset your flash counter.

They'll be cooked into ROMs here too, I was just talking about attempting to install an OTA update via the official method (Settings > Updates). It will download the update and reboot to recovery and install it. If it's not the stock recovery it won't work.

Basically it will happen in 2 ways [overall, not listing full details]:
1- flash the rooted rom with the update > then flash all additional rooted update zips / odin packages
2- unroot > flash stock recovery [resets flash counter] > apply ota > re-root

There's only two ways to update:
1) While using a stock rom, with stock and odexed everything, simply wait for Sprint to push the update to your phone.
2) If deodexed, modified, or on a custom rom, wait for the developers to make flash-able updates.
You can not have root customizations and Sprint pure updates together. Besides, returning to stock from a custom rom to receive Sprint's update? You're usually giving up more than you're gaining.
Okay, it's up in the OP!
As for which one you should do? Basically it's like this:
-If you don't care about updated firmware or you want to wait for me (or someone) to make the firmware flashable in Odin, then download and install this one.
-If you want to fully updated, firmware and all, then you should probably download the other file I'm about to add to the OP, which will install the stock recovery, so that you can download the OTA yourself on your phone and it will install.

Now I don't have a problem waiting for you or someone to make the updates flashable, then also I wouldn't mind doing the OTA myself in which case I see that I'll add teh stock recovery which means I can't ever flash anything right? i mean it's not a custom recovery so i'm screwed? I hope i'm making sense here haha

There's no need to go to degrade yourself when asking a question. And yes, if you take the ota, you'll still be able to flash cwm recovery using odin, then flash the root zip in recovery and be all set.
Hi,
I had stock 4.3 firmware on my att i747 galaxy s3, then I decided to flash cyanogenmod. everything went well but i dont really like it.
Now I want to go back to stock. I tried flashing the stock rom with odin but it fails and it says this on the phone:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I747
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (2 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
Warranty Bit: 1
BOOTLOADER RP SWREV: 2
SW REV CHECK FAIL : Fused 2 > Binary 0
The android version it shows is 4.3.1 and im able to use it normally with the cyanogenmod.
What can I do to flash a stock rom back?
EDIT: used triangle away and the custom binary download says "no" now and the current binary says "samsung official" but still get the same problem.
Thank You

You need to flash a stock ROM that has no boot loader attached to it. I just reverted my S3 back to stock from CM11 so that I could sell it. Flash a Rom.zip through recovery and it should work fine. I see you are ATT so I suggest this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540998. You have the choice of Stock Rooted without bootloader which is what you will be looking for. This thread also has everything you may need. Do not attempt to use Odin to flash roms with older bootloaders or you will find major issues.
You will almost definitely need to wipe everything so back everything up and be sure to take a Nandroid.

In that thread you have 2 good options that I can see. Scroll down and you will find one ROM by upndwn4par/full and another debloated directly under it. Which you chose depends on if you want Samsung/ Google software on it. The upndwn4par file will have you closer to stock than the other. Please be sure to read a couple pages, even if you don't get any immediate knowledge from it you will become way more familiar with these processes. It's worth the time, and safer for your phone.

Thanks once again, i will download the debloated one. But I have a question, that won't be a stock rom right? If the bootloader is the problem is there a stock d2att 4.3 rom i can flash?
That is a stock ROM. It is just pre rooted with knox removed. It is a modified version of the Stock OTA with the problematic parts removed..

You need a custom recovery to flash this. CWM or TWRP. I'm not too sure how you got to CM without one but be sure you have one and then flash the Rom from above. You can install CWM with the app 'Rom Manager'.

I installed CWM but now that i used cyanogen for a while im starting to like it. The only thing that I dont like is the music player. I downloaded google play but it is even worst, my playlists are not even in order. Is there any way of flashing the stock samsung music player on cyanogenmod or is it integrated with the touchwiz?
Thanks for all the help you gave me so far.
EDIT: I found this thread about ported s4 apps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267029, can i just flash it with CWM using cyanogenmod?
You can not flash that S4 port. It says it is specifically for the Galaxy advance. Also you are correct that the Samsung player requires Touchwiz. Try Power Amp, it has pretty good reviews and features. A 3rd party player is probably your best bet. You can cherry pick for features

Yes I'm on 4.4 bootloader. I flashed the tmobile 4.4 nb4 tar. via odin. Flashed CF auto root n9005 version via Odin, and then flashed the TWRP .tar that @bigbiff posted via odin as well. Then in TWRP flashed the latest Philz recovery zip that works with 4.4 bootloader (thats my preference, I like PhilZ.) Then just downloaded and installed Echoe. By the way I had no idea International 4.4 Roms were sooo much faster than ours...its quite noticeable. WIFI and everything works out of box. no need to flash any kernels or anything.
I get stuck at Samsung Note 3 Screen..

its not the recovery, it's the updater script included in some international roms, you have to modify the updater script so that it doesnt do wipe internal. follow these instructions.
1. Download ROM, open .zip with winRAR or 7zip.
2. Navigate to META-INF\com\google\android
3. Drag updater-script to desktop and open in Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus-plus.org)
4. Delete the following... http://imgur.com/F7rdFCo
5. Save (make sure you save as the same format - just click save and not save as)
6. Drag back into same directory and overwrite the previous updater-script in the rom .zip

LITERALLY THAT MADE ME ROLL AROUND ON THE GROUND AND LAUGH MY ASS OFF.
That my friend was not made for the Canadian Variant. I and my friend MISCOM, made that fix when we started putting out Int. Roms for TMO and Canadian phones. If you go the the Stainless thread, you will see the original posting of that fix. That's why when you flash that fix it says, made by Miscom. All somebody did was change the name of the file and stick it up on other threads. I've in months only seen one person credit Miscom for the work we did. Not mad. Doesn't bother me, we made the fix and said here guys go grab it and put it on the N9005 page so everybody can fix this issue.

All somebody did was change the name of the file and stick it up on other threads. I've in months only seen one person credit Miscom for the work we did. Not mad. Doesn't bother me, we made the fix and said here guys go grab it and put it on the N9005 page so everybody can fix this issue.

@dragonstalker I had no idea, i came across the thread and tried it and it worked for me. I am just a user and not trying to step on n e one bad side because i know how much work y'all developer put in. With that been said thanks @miscom and @dragonstalker for the WIFI-BT-NFC fix. I used the 4.3 version but had no idea the 4.4 version wasn't original, by who posted it or started the thread no way for me to know that

I wasn't blaming you. It's opensource, not like we wrote new code to do it. We just took the time to figure out how to fix make everything work.
Its funny because as you stated you had no way of knowing, people renaming it and posted it as their work do. This is probably the 5th name i've seen for this. It doesn't make me mad. Actually it makes me smile that something that was put out is still being used.

Did you do anything special to flash SweetRom? I am getting stuck at the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 screen (Set warranty Bit: kernel)
I get stuck on this screen with the stock kernel and also when I add a 4.4.2 kernel. Any ideas?

What kernels have you tried. Do Wootever's latest . That or Civz. That's what the guys are running on Int. Tmo roms right now that i know of working.

I will look for Wootever's now. Is it posted on international forum or on the t-mobile?
Thanks
Hello,
Here is an UPDATE this is a FULL S6e+ Canadian Variant Rom
First of All at this point you know that your phone should be rooted + you need a moded kernel or you will be stuck in a boot-loop ( you will find it in S6e+ international Thread )and this means BYE-BYE WARRANTY
Second do not forget to Backup in TWRP / CWM
The most important is: I'M not responsible if your phone went crazy
Now that you agreed for the 3 Warnings:
Download the ROM in your SD
Reboot in your TWRP / CWM recovery
Flash it
Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik/ART Cache
Reboot wait and wait maybe one more time wait (android will finish doing his Job) et VoilĂ .
What is in this ROM
A FULL ROM WITH ALL THE CSC CANADIAN
Volume is boosted
Native Call Recorder is Enabled
2nd Keyboard Symbol Enabled ( for eng_US and fr_CA )
Rooted
Xposed
Deodexed
As from my Side everything is working well . BUT STILL SO IMPORTANT DO A BACKUP AS WE DON'T HAVE YET A STOCK FIRMWARE.
When you Flash it you will have Rogers CSC . if you want another Canadian Carrier CSC,
once you phone is booted go to the dialer and type *#272*IMEI# its gonna prompt the Canadian CSC select the needed one click on install, the Phone will reboot Reset and install the selected CSC.
I know all the T-Mobile bloatware will be removed but I would like to keep one of them which is the "NAME ID" how could I do that?

With the proper Kernel, would this ROM work for the standard T-Mobile S6 edge? Also does this ROM retain the T-Mobile WiFie Calling?

When will we US variants get in on the action eh?

Do you know where we can download the Canadian version of stock firmware? My phone has turned out to be a brick because of the FRP lock (so stupid that forgot OEM unlock before factory reset the device), seems like I will have to use the stock firmware to make it work again... Or do you have any other suggestions? Only few information about 928W8, so hard to find one on the same boat...

Thanks for the reply. I am in the situation exactly like here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s6/help/custom-binary-blocked-frp-lock-t3152054
Tried to flash TWRP using ODIN, but got the same error "custom binary blocked by FRP lock". Only download mode is available, in other words, only ODIN can help now.
Lots of discussions in the above link, but seems that the only working solution is to flash the stock firmware, which doesn't exist for 928W8 in Canada....

Yes, it is rooted. But the FRP lock stops me odin flashing the tmobile stock firmware, which I guess is still different from 928w8's stock firmware.... Odin always shows failed.....

hmm... still with no luck...
Same error..... When I tried to odin the new ROM, the error shows up again "Custom Binary(Boot) Blocked By FRP Lock"....
I just recently the a5 2017 and unlocked it but it still has some annoying vodafone features on it that i cant get rid of and wondering if its possible to replace the current stock rom with one that dosnt have any vodafone bloatware on it? (still stock rom though)
Error in title! Ment to say "Removing" not removed
It should be possible to install TWRP, download the stock ROM without Vodafone brand from a site like sammobile.com and flash it in odin.
Then install TWRP again and flash RMM-state-bypass.zip and no-verity.zip from the thread in this forum.
Sry to sound stupid but where about is the RMM-state-bypass.zip and no-verity.zip files and if they are needed or can i just flash without them?

No-verity.zip can be downloaded here https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...velopment/recovery-galaxy-a5-a7-2017-t3815931
and RMM-bypass.zip here https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...ide-root-install-twrp-samsung-t3747535/page77
Im not to 100% sure if those two zips are really needed.
Easiest thing is to just flash the Stock ROM in Odin and see if it still works like before.
Maybe read through some articles/threads before you start
