I have a kindle fire hd 8.9 that is stuck in a boot loop. When i power it on it goes to the (kindle fire) screen. it will stall there for a little bit then restart. then it goes to the same screen again. but this time it has a white light going threw the letters. sometimes it will go to the lock screen. but it wont let me unlock. when it gets stuck on the unlock screen. it will reboot again. i think the battery might be going bad because i can leave it on charge over night and when i unplug it and boot it up. it doesnt stay on as long as it should.
Quite possible I think. You can always replace the battery and see if it fixes it.

Did you ever get to replacing the batteries or sending it for repair?

When ever I attempt to start my Kindle Fire(It's rooted, with ICS), it sometimes will not boot. However, on rare occasions, it starts up. I go through the FFF loading screen, get the booting splash screen. I get to my lock screen, and boom! It shuts down. Repeat..
Also, I do get stuck at FFF's "CHARGING, LOW BATTERY PLEASE WAIT" screen. Now, I'm no expert, but it seems like it's not charging properly. ATM the screen is on, but it's blank, the power button is orange, and it's charging via the stock charger. I've tried many things like what kinfauns said here. When I plug it in, I get nothing, no lights, screen off.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
You posted in the Kindle Fire HD thread instead of the original Kindle Fire thread, so expect it to be moved soon.
Hold the power until the device completely shuts off.
Plug your USB cable into your computer and then your device.
As soon as you plug the device in (it will power up automatically), hold the power button until it shuts off again.
Then let it sit for half a day or more and see if you can turn it on. If so, continue to charge it normally.

Oh, I'm sorry. When I plug it in, it doesn't start up at all.
It sounds like you're having more problems than just a dead battery. When you turn the device on, exactly what happens?
[Edit:] that is...from a completely powered off state (not sleeping).

It won't even turn on. Let' say I leave it plugged to the stock wall charge, after about an hour, it'll turn on, boot into CM9, and then shutdown. Some times it goes to the FFF screen saying "Charging low battery, please wait". I did talk to Amazon over the phone, they're sending me a brand new KF free of charge. They don't know I voided the warranty on it

I've been having issues with my battery holding a charge (stock except for a temp root to instal gapps). I contacted email support and they said to call in, soundsl ike they might replace it. Do you know if you're getting a new version? I'm assuming so since I think they stopped building the old version. I'm wondering if they'll let me pay the difference for an HD upgrade.
When you get it to turn on and you see the Kindle Fire screen, hold the power button until "recovery" is selected at the bottom. When booted into recovery, let it charge there. You'll be able to see your battery's percentage from there.
Do not send the old Kindle back to Amazon. Shady moves like that screw it up for everyone. Take the KFHD for example. There is a device with so much potential but it has been crippled, assuredly because of ridiculous amount of people who have broken their devices (due to their own actions) and sent them back under the guise of being under warranty.
It's just bad practice IMO.

They're giving me a new kindle fire 1st gen. Talk to their support, maybe they will allow that!
I replaced the screen on my kindle, now it boot loops. The green light turns on for 3 sec. Then the orange light stays on, the screen gets stuck on the kindle fire screen. I have rooted many phones and tablets, but this device has been nothing but headaches. Please help.

You have several posts in the kf2 forums, but only one in the first gen forums. Are you sure you have a kf1?
Was your kindle working before the screen replacement?

Just because I am a Senior Member doesn't mean anything.
I do not count myself any higher than anybody else.
What I did, I bought a first Gen kindle with a broken screen, and switched the motherboards. But it was working though. I got a fastboot cable..
I leave my Kindle to charge overnight everyday. Sometimes it will charge, and sometimes it won't, and it will turn off.. When it doesn't charge, I can usually charge it and power it up again. I guess it didn't charge this time, but now it doesn't turn on whatsoever. I tried charging it, resetting, and hard resetting, without any luck. Is my kindle bricked?, because I have never known of a brick happening like this.
The LED doesn't turn on or anything? Does anything happen when you plug it into a computer?

I am running CM 10 on my daughter's kindle fire and for some reason as of yesterday when I plug it in to charge it will come on, show the yellow triangle for recovery and then shut off. The green light does come on and then goes off, it just keeps looping like this for 24+ hours now not charging I guess. Does it need the battery replaced maybe?

I've got bad news for you. Your USB port is loose and about ready to crap out. If you can get it to charge (usually by leaning the plug so that the tip inside the KF is pointing downward somewhat, run a backup with TWRP, all of your SD card partition to a PC (lean the plug the same way when you connect it to the USB cord connected to the PC).
At this point you have an exact copy of where your Kindle Fire is as of this moment.
You're cheapest bet to fix this is to buy a Kindle Fire on Ebay that has a cracked screen (make sure it is first Generation, and buy one that is still functional, or the touch doesn't work but it charges fine) Cracking open a Kindle is pretty easy, and can be done with a flat head screwdriver, but a good phone opening tool would be better. They're cheap on Ebay. Use the iFixIt teardown (google it) to tear it down and remove the motherboards from each, and then swap them out. Re work using Kindle Fire Utility and copy your backup of the SD card back onto your fixed Kindle. Restore your backup using TWRP's restore command, and you've put yourself completely back in business.
Good Luck.
Hello XDA members,
My Kindle Fire 2 was rooted and running smoothly for about a week. Then I plugged it in to recharge it and it booted to the Kindle Fire 2 TWRP blue screen and shut off. I tried it a couple more times and the same thing happened.
Some details - I tried to charge it with the factory cable "I made". I didn't know if it would hurt anything. It happened after that. It boots up to the kindlefire orange boot screen and as soon as it switches to the blue kindlefire 2 screen it shuts off. I tried plugging my factory cable in to boot into fastboot but nothing happens. I have another factory cable on the way from eBay to see if it is my cable.
Has anyone experienced or heard of this happening? I can't seem to find anything on it. Thanks.
Did the Kindle Fire Utility, TWRP2.2.1, Firefirefire. Flashed cm10.2. Worked fine for a day, next day got the cyonagenmod logo loop, a few reboots later ok. Last night with 3/4 battery it shutdown and has been stuck in a charging low battery please wait on the blue kindle fire logo then shuts down. Charges for ten monutes then power button goes out and the then charging loop again.
what charger are you using. don't use usb port. use the oem charger 1.8Amps
