Is it possible to access the Moto 360 heartbeat monitor with other Android apps? I'm interested in using the M360 with Runtastic to also track my heart rate, instead of buying Runtastic's own hardware. Or any other app that allows me to track my jogging and include in the heart sensor.
From what I'm read about the M360, it looks like the heart sensor is only used by the watch and nothing else really makes use of it.
I've love to have a continuous measurement of my heart rate while jogging and have it tracked with an app along with the phone GPS data. I wouldn't even mind if it drained battery faster as long as it lasted for 4hrs or so.
I think once all these apps start taking full advantage if Android Wear and Google Fit they will be able to pull the HRM data. At least, that is what I'm hoping.

I hope so too!. I guess we'll have to wait a month for Android L and everything else to come out and settle down. I'd love to use the M360 doing exercises and not have to use one of those chest bands.
APIs....
I guess IFTTT guys may provide you with a recipe that triggers the heart monitor to the google drive channel so that you can post your heartbit to a spreadsheet or something...we will see...

This app does it for the gear live: Heart Rate Trainer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=portablepixels.heartratetrainer
I assume one can be developed for the moto 360.
I've been using this watchface for a few days on my Moto 360, it seems to work fine: the watchface displays real time heart rate info, along with actual time and HR measurement accuracy).

The UI has nothing fancy, but it gets the job done, and that means that we can expect other developpers to be able to write similar watchfaces, including (I hope) the editors of our favorite fitness applications!
For people who enjoy listening to music while working out like me, the least number of devices I need is three – a fitness tracker, a phone for streaming music, and a pair of in-ear headphones. However, there is a new product on Indiegogo that packs all the features I need from them.:victory: This thread is aimed to provide all the information available on iWOWNfit R1, bluetooth wireless sports earbuds that have been launched on Indiegogo.

The iWOWNfit R1 has a built-in heart rate monitor and a calorie counter that keeps track of your physical activity. Another feature that the R1 sports earbuds has is a Live Voice Coach that tells you when to slow down or speed up depending on your hear rate.
It also has 512MB of built-in storage that allows you to load up to 80 songs. This means you no longer have to rely on taking your iPhone to your runs or gym, just store your music to R1 and listen to it wherever you like. You can also decide to pair it to your smartphone for use as regular earphones when you are not working out.
Like other sports headphones, the iWOWNfit R1 is also sweat resistant, thanks to a nano waterproof coating, making them a great option for both fitness freaks and music lovers alike.
IWOWNfit is a wearable device company based in Shenzhen, China and there's been interest in other products like i5+ smartband, i6HR, i6Pro, i7, thanks to the work already done by roninzgz , joro666 , adibadro .
If you have any queries about the products, feel free to leave a message here.
Oh, wow!
That is one sweet device! Nice to have it in sight so soon!
I'm gonna assume the pricing will be more than competitive! Can't wait for it!
Based on the quality of the other iWown devices I own and tinkered with, I'm gonna say build quality will also be on par with the i7, at least! :good::good::good:
P.S. thanks for the mention
Bluetooth Wireless Sports Earbuds R1 most heart rated monitor. It also has 512MB of built-in storage that allows you to load up to 80 songs.
Found this on sale now! Really cheap for a pair of wireless earbuds with hrm. Only for the first 50 though.
Very interesting brand looks like I am gonna have to checkout your whole collection

So I used to have Xiaomi Mi Band 3 that could do that with an app you download from Play. Is there anyway that makes this possible on GW? It was very convenient being able to see your HR reading in real time while rowing/using eliptical so that effort could be adjusted in order to remain in the aerobic area. And if there isn't such a way to do that currently, is it possible to make such an app? In other words, does Tizen allow apps on Android to access HR readings in realtime? I have an okey experience with programming and would gladly spend my free time to make that possible if no one already did.
Thanks in advance.
tried any hr watchface yet?

Sure, but what I'm after is getting my phone to display my HR readings, not the watch itself

I haven't been able to find a way. Here's a thread that's been out there for a bit longer with more replies. Half the people who reply are confused on what is meant, and no one else seems to have an answer. https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/gear-s3/displaying-heart-rate-phone-t3555867
Fitbit handles this natively right on their dashboard in the phone app, it's disappointing that Samsung can't have this same functionality.
I would love to see an app that does it. Would be great if it also had a short term history graph of the heart rate too.

I am on it. As far as I read in Samsung developers' website it should be possible, but I havn't yet gone into the details and made sure of it 100%.

I found a way to do this from my Galaxy Watch Active using "Heart Rate and Speed Transmitter for Zwift and Arcade Fitness" from the Galaxy Store https://galaxystore.samsung.com/geardetail/org.bipr.hrspeedtransmitter which broadcasts your heart rate over BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). Once you have that running and your device paired in Bluetooth, you can use "Heart Rate Monitor" from the Google Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bmi.hr_monitor

You can also do this to a PC by using "Heart Beat Monitor" from the Microsoft Store https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/heart-beat-monitor/9wzdncrdkw2v?activetab=pivot:overviewtab This one seems a little buggy on getting it to work, but it does the trick once you get it running.

Apple Watch Series 6 - Apple
Please feel free to share issues, questions and offer help
Main features of the iWatch 6:
1. Oxygen saturation measurement, especially important now in the Covid-19 crisis.
2. VO2 max measurements after workouts. even more precise when combined with the iCardio app available in the store. Annual subscription is $21.95. With this app the watch is even more sophisticated.
3. Crips and very clear display with the always on possibility.
4. Very fast responding.
Furthermore:
" The new Apple Watch measures the oxygen level in your blood using the blood oxygen sensor. Based on this data, the Apple Watch provides insight into your fitness and your stress level. Thanks to breathing exercises and mindfulness, you can lower your stress level with the Apple Watch. The Always-On screen shows you your most important notifications throughout the day. Even when the sun shines on display, because the screen of the Watch 6 is screen is brighter than that of its predecessor. The Apple Watch has its own sleep tracker. You can wear the Apple Watch at night and you'll see exactly how well you slept the next day. "
Is it worthwhile to update when you have the Series 5? IMHO, yes it is, cause of the clearer screen, the Oxygen saturation and responsiveness.
Regards, kuzibri
I can't say I am a fan o the subscription model though
{Mod edit: Quoted post has been deleted}
Hi, the watch should be connected to your iPhone by WiFi and yes, to a certain degree it's waterproof. When you swipe down from bottom to top, you will see a droplet icon, activate that before you go into the water and it works even better. Deactivating it, is only possible by using the digital crown. Regards Kuzibri
i think the apple watch ultra kills them all the 7 series was the best so far but the ultra new one is on a whole new level of tech
