Alternative way to boot i9250 into recovery mode (faulty power button) - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

My galaxy nexus power button hasnt been working for a good while now but im still able to restart my phone etc using apps from the play store. My problem now is that i had cm11 snapshot m4 on my device and recently updated to m6 and now all of a sudden the phone keeps rebooting. As soon as it starts up and the lockscreen appears it reboots, not giving me enough time to use whatever app i have to reboot to recovery which makes it a huge problem since i cant manually boot to recovery the normal way via volume + power button.
So i just want to know if there is any way to get into recovery without using the power button??
Thanks.

Adb shell . then adb reboot ,adb reboot recovery , or adb reboot bootloader should work if you can get into adb shell
Hack The Tuna

I got it to work, as soon as the phone booted to lockscreen i dropped the commands and it worked.
Thanks!

[Q] Stuck in sideload - Hold power button - Nothing happens - Battery can't be pulled

I have recently restarted my Alcatel One touch Fierce and it wouldn't boot up, so I put it into recovery mode and instead of pressing factory reset, I pressed some adb update thing and know my phone is stuck in sideload mode and says : Now Send The Package You Want To Apply To The Device With "adb sideload <filename>"... : and I don't know what to do. I've tried everything from holding the power button for a min to trying to remove the nonremovable battery, someone please help!!
Woah, watch where you're going man, this is the Galaxy Nexus forum, not for your precious Alcatel...
If holding the power button doesn't get you out of this (it should...), you can just grab a computer, sideload any valid ZIP, for example SuperSU, onto your phone (using "adb sideload"), and after your phone flashes the package it will jump out of sideload mode.

[Q] [Help] Keys not working in bootloader

Hi, I've on my Galaxy W still the original rom and I was going for a custom one.
Rooted it with Rootgenius, since other methods were not working.
Than I went for arco custom recovery but I'm not able to enter bootloader.
I mean by cmd after typing "adb reboot bootloader" phone correctly reboot and the confirmation screen appears but volume keys are not working, or the phone is anyway stuck on that screen.
I've tried to boot using volume_down+home+power but the phone keeps rebooting after samsung logo.
Any help? Thanks
Update, I'was able to install recovery through adb but home button is still not working so in CWM I can only go up and down.
Tried to use adb shell input keyevent 3 (that should be home button) but even if it works in normal state of the phone, in recovery it gives me error /sbin/sh: input: not found
Anybody?
wow , i have the same problem , its not able to continue or cancel the warning :/ and i have no idea how can i flash it

Download mode freezes if you have the USB plugged in prior to selection. Initialize it before plugging the device in.

Nexus 5X dead -- need help -- wont boot

Nexus 5X - was working fine all this while till about yesterday evening.. then suddenly when i causally checked, it was in powered off state.
Normal press of the power button did not work. No response. Pressed Power button for 10 seconds -- google logo appeared...... and that's about it -- it powered off again when OS/Android started to load. (no android boot animation).
Tried to boot to fastboot -> was successfull. Phone stays alive in fastboot mode.
Tried to boot into recovery (I had TWRP). Again, shows google logo and then when TWRP screen shows up - phone shuts down.
Dont think its a power button issue - since in fastboot/bootloader mode, the power button and rest of the buttons work as expected & the phone does not reboot.
Battery is fully charged using official charger.
Further, in fastboot mode, i am able to access/push .img files - so that way, i could push full factory image (with no errors, including userdata) & relock the boot-loader & also install the factory recovery.
I can now get into factory recovery -- but nothing much.
One thing i noted was, while in factory recovery, if i try "Apply update from SDCard" option, it says its unable to mount /sdcard (error).
The phone was purchased directly from google & is under warranty.
Have had nexus 4, nexus 5 without any issues in the past.
This nexus 5x --- has been replaced once in the past due to yellow screen issues ...
Any help/fixes will be appreciated...

if you press hold power + volume up you go into download mode. there is a thread with all official MM and N roms, so you should be able to install one and hopefully fix your problem. ofc do a clean install
if that does not work, then you might have more luck with lg flash tool to do a factory reset
if nothing works then imo its hardware problem, but since i am not as good at such stuff as most here i refrain to say so

[Q] BRICKED m8 wont boot up, go into bootloader mode or recovery

yesterday i unlocked the bootloader, and used ADB and FASTBOOT to flash TWRP 3.0.2 and then rooted by flashing superSU v2.76
the phone was still S-on
i attempted to modify the buildprop file and used TWRP to mount system and copy the file over to /system/
i did have other things ticked as being mounted, like /data and one other partition that escapes me now.
anyway, i copied the buildprop back and used CHMOD755 but thought choosing 644 would be better so i choose CHMOD but entered 0644 as it was asking for 4 characters. after hitting boot system the phone just went black, trying to boot into bootloader mode now doesn't work, nothing happens. the only way i get any sign of life out of the phone now is by holding volume up and power. then the phone will boot for about 5 to 6 secs before going black screened again.
so i can't boot, cant enter recovery or bootloader.
usb debuggung was ticked previously but i'm not sure i even have a working rom now. ADB fails to find a device and trying
Code:
abd reboot bootloader
just brings
Code:
error: device '(null)' not found
am i totally screwed ? or is this something i can fix ???

Connect to PC so you can hear connect/disconnect sound.
Press & hold power + volume up buttons to force reboot, once you hear the disconnect sound on PC, release both buttons and quickly press & hold volume down button. This will take you to hboot, select recovery and restore your backup or install ROM zip

connecting up to PC i don't get any "bing bong" sounds at all. if i try booting with volume up and power while connected to PC i still don't get the bing bong, quickly switching to holding volume down as you suggest doesn't stop the phone going back to black screen.
HEEEEELLLLP !!!!!
EDIT: additional info
the phone has been this way for a few hours now and twice in that time the phone has started booting up by itself (without me touching it), only to go back off again the same as every other time...
EDIT: after leaving the phone to go nuts all by itself and let the battery run down and recharging it, I was able to get back into bootloader mode and recovery to restore a backup.
I am now happily running GPe MM, and about to test out ElementalX

Please help!!! Unable to get to HBOOT, stuck at cyanogenmod boot screen

I have been using cyanogenmod since 6 months.
As pokemon go is finally released in india and it is not working in rooted devices i have renamed my su files inside /system/bin/ and /system/xbin to su_. This didnt work, safetynet helper was still showing red, i removed root access, still red.
I thought maybe rebooting might help, so I
1. Opened recovery mode
2. Reboot -> System
3. I got a prompt that the device is not rooted, root using superSU -> Acceped
4. Screen got stuck on cyanogenmod boot screen for 1 hour
5. Pressed and kept power button down for switching off the phone, didn't work
6. Pressed down volume up button and power button mobile restarted but didn't go into HBOOT started showing cyanogenmod boot screen directly
7. tried same for several times, still same issue
8. Opened back case removed battery link, reconnected again and closed the case (twice), phone got switched off completely but after volume up and power combo goes back to cyanogenmod boot screen again, it doesn't go to HBOOT menu at all
Please help, i cant afford another phone. I need my phone badly even if pokemon go doesn't work
