[Q] 4.4.2 kit kat - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Has the Offical OTA for Kit kat come out yet??? A buddy at work had me root his phone a few weeks ago and since he cant get it via OTA i have to keep an ear out for it here.
Thanks.

Surely you have read the general and development forums? Yes KK OTA is available. You better read up on the flashing issues and bricking possibilities before you take the KK OTA and decide you want to revert back to a custom rooted rom.

[Q] LG G2 Sprint_Update Queries

Hi,
I am using USA Sprint rooted and unlocked LG G2 in India with GSM sim. working fine.
I am receiving some notifications of updates and have following queries
- Can I update it OTA without losing unlocking?
- How can I manually update the G2 firmware to official LG ROM. I like it. I know there are many custom roms with kitkat but do not want to lose LG's original customization. and hence wish to update the real LG G2 kitkat without impacting unlocking.
Moved here, as this does not belong in the Development Sections...please read the Forum Rules on posting.
Hi.. Any help team...
Zva has a modified TWRP zip already and we will be working on a ZVC one when it shows up. If stock recovery just manually d/l and flash when link is posted.

Question about 4.4 update

i AM CURRENTLY RUNNING ANDROID 4.3 Shiny ROM on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus TORO...I was interested in running 4.4 and the newer kitkat versions of the roms but i know it will brick or soft brick my phone if i try to do it without updating...is there something i have to do first? go back to stock update to 4.4.4 and then re root? I am sorta a noob but i know some things about root. I dont do anything without researching first. Any questions or guidelines for me?

Just follow the instructions in the ShinyRom thread here
forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/rom-6-4-14-shiny-rom-ota-stock-android-t2642375
and you won't have any troubles upgrading your ROM. It's easy and as you already have ShinyRom installed there shouldn't appear any problems!

[Q] Help with LG G3 root please

Hello I'm new to the forum, I was wondering if someone could help me with my LG G3. I want to root it but I am currently already on lollipop, so I was thinking of reverting back to kit kit as to root, I am completely new to rooting and have been reading up and hoping to learn as I go along, I know the risks but I want to explore it and try and be safe by reading up alot.
So my question I guess is, if I revert to kit kit and root will it be more beneficial then having stock lollipop? I know I could sort it out with root on kit kat to sort of get lollipop, but if I didn't and stayed on kit kat and just used all the goodies and benefits of root, will it be better? Thanks alot for any help

What you can do, is get back on KK, root and install a rooted LL rom like CloudyG3 (close to LG's stock) or any other rom you can find in the Dev section.
LG
Thanks for the reply. So would you say it's defiantly worth riveting to kit kat and rooting, rather then sticking with stock lollipop? I'm completely new to rooting but seems quite interesting just gotta be cautious and look up what I do.

Well you have the choice between stock LL and almost stock rooted LL. It really depends on what you want to do. If rooting has benefits for you, go ahead and to it. If not stay stock.
Getting back to KK is just a step before going with a rooted LL rom.

I'd KILL for root on stock Lollipop (F400K20g)..but i'm biting the bullet for a few weeks..I'm hopeful that root will reach stock Lollipop in the coming weeks. Rooting depends on the individual.. If you can bite the bullet and (try) to enjoy stock lollipop without root then it's all good.. otherwise revert to KK rooted and enjoy all of it's cool features. :good:

P600 KK 4.4.2 to 4.3 Stock ROM
I have TWRP and am running Hyperdrive KK RLS5.1. I really miss the normal split-screen on Android 4.3 and the fact that it never went to immersive mode. Can I use this toolkit to flash back the ROM for Android 4.3 that I can download from SkipsSoft? Or is there a better way, or no way to go back?

You want to return to stock rom. Download stock rom 4.3 for your region from sammobile.com and flash with odin.

Will that work as easily as that? I have read elsewhere that once you have gone to 4.4.2 with Knox, that you can't go back. Supposedly it will brick my device. What I failed to mention in my post is that before installing the custom ROM, I was running stock 4.4.2 Please respond.
