New firmware (10.5.A.0.233) certified for Xperia ZL - Sony Xperia ZL

"Sony will shortly push out firmware build 10.5.A.0.233 to the older Xperia Z series including the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z. This new build follows on from the first Android 4.4.2 KitKat release (10.5.A.0.230) for these models and is likely to be a bug-fix release.
We already saw Sony’s workaround on the battery drain issues this morning, but hopefully the new update will go further to provide a more stable KitKat experience. We’ll let you know once the update starts to roll."

[Q] Ice Cream Sandwich 0% Battery Fix ?

Apologies if i have missed the thread that answers this question.
But if anybody could inform me if when the ICS is released will it have a fix for the infamous 0% battery issue and do we have a release date?
I'm trying to decide whether to wait for a solution or bite the bullet and send away to SE to get hardware changed.
Thanks

[Q] Change region

I have a ARC S, it is not locked to any network and has never been.
It is currently running Android 4.0.3. I wish to install android 4.0.4.
I did a freash install of 4.0.3 and it made thingsa much better.
I have no lagging, no crashing or any problems.
The only problem i have is Sony seem to have thier fingers stuffed up thier A**** as i have still not had the update sent to my phone even after trying PC companion and SEUS.
Is there a way i can fool the software into thinking my phone is from a different region that has already had the update.
I want to be able to update without having to wipe it.
Thank you

Sorry don't mean to be rude!
How do you know Sony are releasing it at the end of the month?
I have looked all over there forums and it seems to be full of people complaining that Sony never get back to them on updates.
The list with released SI numbers has been taken away.
Anyway thanks for your reply.

That was what Sony said at its forums. You can check the sony forums instead. Even so, don't be too enthusiastic with the update as it's not a major update. It only addresses minor issues and the kernel remains unchanged.

Its even easier than changing codes.
Just download flashtool and 587 Iberian Generic firmware. All languages are inside.
Check my post with picture in .13 thread in general section for how to fool it.
If still not working send me pm on Tuesday. I'll help.

Success, I am now running android 4.0.4 on my ARC S.
Sony have not released the update for my SI number but I managed to fool the PC companion into offering the update.
I rooted my phone.
Used a Build.prop editor to change my I'd code.
Restarted my phone. The phone still would not update over the air, but when I plugged it into my pc and fired up PC Companion, it offered the new update.
All done,

I hate my Xperia S

I hate my Xperia S after the latest upgrade. Widgets and Icons gone on reboot and swift keyboard too. Worse, there are so many bugs, charging light and many more. I keep having to reboot it as well. I have factory reset it and also flashed again with PC Companion but still it is awful. It's got to the point where I am considering just giving up and getting a Galaxy, (I have Galaxy Tab and that is fine after same upgrade).
I cannot believe a company like Sony can produce such a bad update and not do anything about it
So before it goes in the bin, is there any thing I can do?
unlock the bootloader and flash a better rom

Use trinity ROM. And if you're still not satisfied. Buy an iPhone, no lags and no trouble,no rooting, no hustle, no flash, no NFC.

Keep up the good work! I'll keep watching this thread every day and I may give it a go in a couple of days when my exams end. The only thing I'll miss is the IR Remote app, really. I hope Sony changes the way that's handled when the official 4.4 comes out (in like a year or so ), since Google now supports it officially.
PS and a little off topic: It's a shame the ZL doesn't get as much love as the Z, I was even thinking of flashing a Z ROM on my ZL and switching kernels before the first boot until I saw this, since they're so similar (it worked that way on my I9000B, which is just a Samsung I9000 Galaxy S with a different kernel and TV tuner which (obviously) doesn't work in AOSP-based ROMs).

There's bugs if you cross flash, I just tried flashing XZ BeanStalk 4.4, I had to modify the zip to remove the kernel and let it flash to my C6506, results are the rom works but the screen never actually turns off, turning it off just makes the screen go black, but not off. I'm pretty sure this is due to the fact that the ZL has a different screen from the Z.

It's official, we're getting Marshmallow!

https://support.t-mobile.com/community/phones-tablets-devices/software-updates#tmoSUPDocTitle
Now we just have to wait to see how long it takes for T-mobile to put it through testing. I can't wait to have SD card integration with the onboard memory!
Yep. I noticed this yesterday when I was seeing what is new about 20g. FWIW, 20g is just a Stagefright fix. It will sure be curious to see how long it takes LG / TMO to get Marshmallow out for our G3s. I bet its well into 2016!!!
Just can't wait!
Thia is going to be great! I hope it will work good on the Lg G3 but it will be great.

I have been avoiding MM ROMs like the plague because they all seem to have massive issues with one or all of the above. Until the devs can take the modules and whatnot from the official D851 MM then it seems like it's going to be a problem.

Hello
I am currently with this rom and the only problem has been the bluetooth service, the rest all works perfectly. Best regards.
Note: My service provider is not t-mobile, is Movistar in Colombia.
It will tell you that everything except data works perfectly and that the data is buggy, it says data is buggy on all of the port though soo

If you guys look on their webpage and try to click on any of the Update links after clicking on device topic ( /docs/DOC-11935 ) the page is a 404 so i think they are about to Go into Tmobile Testing for the G3
The update page shows it Manufacture Development. On the bright side the G4 went from development to release without the testing stage.
