So I was finally able to update to 4.4.2 KitKat by using the LG FlashTool, but now the quadcore control that was in the battery settings in 4.1.2 is missing. Anyone know how to get it back or is it removed in this update? That option was very helpful for saving battery life.

It's definitely gone but I have no idea how to get it back or if we even need it back Battery life for me has been as good as it was with 4.1.2.

+1. Battery life is quite good on KitKat. Indeed, I can do at least 2 hrs of GPS and streaming quite comfortably, when before it would suck my battery. Google maps especially...
I have noticed the battery life is quite good, but upon running a benchmark with Antutu X, I was only getting 20k, so i turned off the temp control in the service menu, forced 2d hardware acceleration and set max background apps to 4 in developer options and now im getting over 26k

If you're talking about the LG G2, this is the wrong forum. The LG Optimus G Pro doesn't have knock on/off natively in kitkat.
No.. I am talking about g pro...have a look at the gestures settings..

Hey,
Just installed CPU Sleeper to kill off my second core when the screen is off.
Is there another program that will kill data connection when the screen is off, and only turn it on when i turn on my screen?
Would save ALOT of battery I imagine!
In AOKP, there is an option to switch to 2G when the screen is off. This works well, but the only drawback in my opinion is that it is a little slow to return to 4G.

I use the 2x battery app and it works great! It was a free download from the Play store as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739530
This does what aokp does but as a stand alone app. Read op instructors install the apk or flash the zip doesn't matter. When screen off, you can opt to go to 2g and with a ton of options like not down shift if network is being used (phone call, downloading a big app).
On top of that you can choose to re enable 4G with a notification message manually as well as automatically. as sometimes when you screen on your phone only to check text or gtalk, aokp would swap back to 4G immediately and back to 2G when the screen goes off, killing a lot of battery in the process actually.
This app is seriously badass.

Currently in training mode, but kind of doubtful of it's usefulness.
I feel like the cost of keeping google location on will offset the savings if not surpass it.

You need location access enabled for the app to function. I don't know why... Normally I leave it off as well.
EDIT: Also do you freeze apps? I'm trying to figure out which ones are safe to get rid of.

none on this end. update was just released.
Not sure if this makes a difference but i am running houstonn 4.1.2
thanks for that bit of info, haha let me know if it updates again please
I am also on houston's JB build. It hasn't caused considerable battery life loss, but under BBS, it says that
ConsiaBattery (Battery Guru) has caused partial wakelocks a total of 6062 times for 1 hour and 42 minutes.
My phone has been unplugged for 14 hours 43 minutes. That's quite a bit of wakelock if you ask me
I'm getting better battery life, although I do see it using a bit up itself, it does pay for itself, so-to-speak

For first time on my E975 device I try custom ROM I used the last CM10 on the device and I found bugs , the biggest one is the black screen after battery finish , sometimes when the battery get empty and after attach the charger the screen goes black (the screen is on as little back light is shown)but without anything on the screen the solution to get the phone back to work is to attach the phone with PC and use the upgrade steps (keep pressing the down button with power )after that the battery logo will shown and the phone go back to life , it happen to my 3 or 4 times and only when battery finish ,also the Modern combat 4 and Real football 2013 and asphalt 8 is not working any idea friends ??? Don't tell me I have to wipe and these things as I did them all ...

On my E973, I haven't had any GPS issues on either Chad's 4.4 KitKat OmniRom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2511730) or LiquidSmooth 2.37 running 4.3.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526087).
Both of these ROMs are excellent, but the LiquidSmooth is as stable as stock. I'm going on 2 weeks without any issues at all. OmniRom had some bluetooth issues for me and poor battery life (but haven't tried since 11/11).
Beware what you flash..don't mess up with the modem, because i already got my phone replaced on warranty. The gps module died.
