Hey,
I would like to unlock my bootloader. In all the guides I've read, it says I will lose all my data.
I was wandering whether its possible to perform a Nandroid backup before bootloader unlock and then restore that data after bootloader unlock.
Could someone please tell ne if its possible?
BTW, I use a Sony Ericsson Xperia arc.
Thanks
Testpoit it. Its easier and you dont loose anything and not the DRM keys too. Easier to relock it too, as original

How would I relock my Bootloader?
Is unlocking a bootloader the same as making it simlock free?
Sent from my Xperia X10 using xda premium
No. Bootloader unlocking is not the same as sim unlocking. Bootloader unlocking allows you to install custom roms to your phone.
i noticed now that i can unlock my bootloader using flashtool.
is it the testpoint method?
dont think so i tried it and it took me to sonyericsson site. just do test point its easy just follow procedure carefully. plus you keep drm keys and can restore just by running restore through s1 tool.
I thing the Unlock bootloader in Flashtools is for X10 ....2011 models can do it via sony's unlock bootloader site ....

Hi Friends,
I'm trying to unloack my Z1C using the latest verson of flashtool and after connecting it in flashmode it will not display the window showing model numbers and display a window asking to switch off and connect again in flashmode.
I've tried it on 3 PC's, still not unlocked the Bootloader. What is the difference between unlocking bootloader from Sony official method and Flashtool method. Please guide me.
Regards
Shashi
Iirc the first unlock has to be done the official way, then you can (re)lock using flashtool. And the correct drivers have to be installed of course.

Hi Developers.
I got a sony xperia sp phone and today I tried it unlocking the bootloader. I was thinking about it from a long time but today I somehow did it.
Guys. I was not knowing to take TA backup of my phone and after unlocking the bootloader I am facing the problems. I have attached the screenshot of the problem while taking the TA backup and backup was not created. I have not flashed it yet.
Please tell me will the bravia engine for my phone will work or not. It's gonna be horrible for me if it don't. Help me out with this.
Hi,
New to the forums and did a little snooping before posting. I recently bought a z1c australian stock and it came rooted and with the bootloader unlocked. I don't have the original DRM keys nor the TA backup. Is it still possible for me to relock the bootloader? I can't seem to update my phone via PC companion without locking it.
Thanks
Download Flashtool it lets you relock your phone

Yes, you can re-lock the bootloader, but Your DRM keys are lost unfortunately. As said in earlier post, you can use flashtool to do so. Also, there is a thread which helps You get back some of the features provided by DRM keys, although do note it does not restore DRM keys. You can find the thread here.
