I'm brand new to GS3 coming from AOKP on my GS2. I want to use the new JB search function (S Voice?) but my GS3 doesn't have a dedicated search button like my GS2 did and I don't know how to get that easily on AOKP for GS3.
I want to try CM10 and also codename android but don't want to flash them while at work right now and no access to my home pc.
If anyone has used these ROMS are they feature rich like aokp? I like features rather than a stock experience.

I stand corrected.. Im sorry lol. I havent actually installed it or had much of chance to play around with my gs3 yet as I was a idiot and hard bricked mine... lol Again sorry for the mis-information!

That epically sucks. I caused a boot loop on day one. Luckily I could still get into recovery and fixed. That's why I don't want to flash anything while I'm at work in case something doesn't go right.

The AOKP Rom seems to be missing some standard gs3 features too like face and voice unlock. The function to detect when you're looking at the phone for screen time out. It's like this rom is modeled too closely to the GS2 aokp rather than gs3 phones.

Day 1 of me owning my phone I came to xda immediately and did a search of Samsung Gaaxy S3 and at the time the interational forums were the only result.. I went there and found a nice rom I wanted, followed the rooting instructions using odin. Installed a recovery then flashed the rom.. needless to say, 3 hours into owning my epic phone I turned it into a paperweight lol.

No real problems to speak of. Apparently if you try to set a wallpaper via settings, the phone will reboot. But you can set a picture as wallpaper in the gallery as a workaround. Some of the bands that would normally show as 3G in the notification bar will show as 4G and LTE also shows as 4G, however the speeds are correct for the actual connection. One time the Play Store said it couldn't verify my account. I removed my account in settings and added it back and no more problems with that. Those are the only two bugs I can think of off the top of my head. I'm really happy with it.

I have this one downloaded but not flashed yet. Does it have voice search when you long press the menu button?

According to their website the JB version is stock. I took a risk and flashed CM10 at work. I found a setting to remap hard keys so I mapped menu long press to voice search. I'm already pleased with that. ^_^

our rom does have voice search built in such as google now in jb and you can add svoice via debloated version, and so should you wanna use google now you can and you can use svoice should you choose for that in bloated version. enjoy and yeah you can remap it without any software via home button clearly go to settings and go to all applications and clear defaults for either velvet or google now or google or svoice and you're set with either or. enjoy

Yes. Try readding them. The samsung widgets should adjust automatically. Not sure about 3rd party ones.

When I can perfect it a little bit more. I will likely release it in my ROM first though. The issue I'm having is getting the 5th app to be in the dock on boot. You can manually drag it there and it stays, but no matter what I do in the CSC crap, it doesn't ever add the 5th app down there. So that is on my list of crap to fix first before it even makes it into my ROM

I just got my Note 2 yesterday and rooted it last night. could i Just flash this over stock rom.?

Did that and it worked perfect! Some widget just require reloading as in terms of removing and re-adding.

Techinically... It would work on a stock ROM because no smali code was edited.
But... I dont personally like the idea of mixing odex and de-odex...

[Request] Dark Dialer / Contacts App Theme

Is there any way to make the T-Mobile S4 white dialer app look like the stock dialer on the international version?
I find the white dialer to be annoying. It is too cartoonish-looking and its white theme is so inconsistent with the rest of the stock apps' UI.

Yes, I could have used ExDialer or any other dialer, but calls still go through the stock Phone app (you'll see the transition from the third-party dialer to the stock white dialer when making calls). Besides, the dark TW dialer does look great and consistent with the rest of the UI.
So, anyone know how to change the color of the STOCK dialer?

I pulled the SecPhone and SecContacts apks from Wanam's Rom and successfully placed them on the system partition. Themed them with a theme from the i9505 thread and everything is working good... Except! CALL RECORDING. If you try and record a call it will lock up the phone requiring a reboot. I did have it work once but I'm still unsure of the particular circumstance, different kernel? No AC!D audio mod? Or what actually allowed this feature to work without locking the phone up. I ran out of time today to test. I really don't even care about that feature but I really don't want the random button press to disable the phone until rebooting. I looked everywhere for a non "hacked", call recording disabled SecPhone apk that didn't cause other non compatibly issues with no luck. But it sure looks good!

I to love touch wiz after being on AOSP the whole time I had my S3. That international dialer is awesome looking and we would still have full functionality :thumbup:
Hope some genus can make one compatible with t-mobile odex!

Should you be on a deodexed rom, id copy your stock apks somewhere in case you dont like the new ones. (1) copy stock apks and place them someone so you can find them later
(2) clear data for phone and contacts should you choose to install those, your phone should reboot it self and fix permissions if not do it manually
For the mms just copy and paste then fix permissions

There is supposed to be a question there and you answer with the popup. I think you have a dpi issue.

You can't flash other ROM slots yet.

Your welcome, that was my point of posting this. I made the ROM to save time with installing the mods and figured I would share it with XDA. I hope it works well for everyone.

I had to download on laptop in order to see the captcha.
When you swipe to the very first page and then swipe once more to the left, what application is it trying to open that causes a message saying "application not installed"

I see a download booster icon, does it actually work on the note 3?

Downloaded and running good. Quick question , how come on the leak and Baja I had 4G LTE icon . On this , rom just a 4g icon ? No biggie, assuming same just custom icon change ?

Only issue I suddenly noticed is I lost my ability to chrome cast movies on real player to my tv. Worked on stock, Baja, and did again after flashing backup. I have chrome cast installed but the screen mirror icon isn't there on this rom for some reason .

I was trying to figure that out before. I think it has something to do with the s5 launcher itself. There are a few apps it resizes itself. the accuweather and the calendar.
The resizable widget i made worked for a few, but on reboot the launcher broke them. So im going to try again after i get everything else done

im not sure why, its the stock widget with transparent images. i didnt change any of the fonts?

every ime i flash it in recovery i get a error once i reboot says something about kox setup wizard O_O

I'm currently running just the stock rooted rom that effortless had in his instructions thread. I've not flashed any other mod than one I made for the 4 way reboot.
So I'm not sure man. I had one issue that I've seemed fixed. I had grumpy weather installed and it kept popping up unified daemon crashed. But I never saw that one
I know you know what your doing, so I'm not gonna ask if you screwed something up. Lol

just wanna say thanks by hitting the thanks button, an also to tell you it worked great... also put the inverted phone, mms, contacts from another thread next to yours... only missing email app now...

THANKS... I was going to flash it, but I was fixing my phone first, then my wifes...
after I get the backups done, I will flash it and try.... I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't affect anything else...
edit: just flashed it, working just fine... I use a black background, and all is good...

How do I revert back to the original? I'm running effortless rev6 with apex and it did something weird?
Seems to work fine on the stock launcher, doesn't like apex?

Well it's a Samsung widget so only TouchWiz launcher is all its gonna work on. All in all it likes apex just not for it?

just wanted to give an update on this,
it has been working on all the new releases for our Tmobile N900T and also for the N9005 releases without issues,
I insert this on my own personal roms, what I do is, put this in my rom - accuweather apk, remove the odex file in my rom, since its a odex rom, it is just easier..
