I think my problem started after doing the OTA upgrade to Android version 4.4.2 (software version E98020g). Currently unable to send emails but can receive. I have no custom ROM, settings, etc. The phone is completely stock, unrooted, AT&T. Would appreciate any help. Thanks!
UPDATE - I turned off WiFi and was able to send two separate emails successfully. It MAY be my WiFi connection at work that is the cause of the problem. I will get on my wireless home network later this evening and try again
Moderator, please delete this thread. I've identified the problem.

I have a rooted EVO, with no custom ROM and over the last couple weeks, I can't download a image coming in a text. I get an error "unable to download".
Any thoughts as to what I should do. Also with a rooted phone but no custom ROM should I accept the Sprint update?
No on the update, and i believe that may have to do with your data. I have had it do that when I was on WiFi or roaming
now the voices are in 3D
Data is on right? But agree with dased14. That could be it.

Hi guys, i m from indonesia. Just helping my friends. He bought sprint lg g2 and injected with our local cdma provider. The phone also been unlock for using gsm.
All went fine for couple months, but last week suddenly it cannot make a call or received a call, but data access work fine. Tried to reebot, change other sim card but it does not solve the problem. This notification appear when it turn on " we can't complete this activation over the device" and after that there is other notif said " hands free activation".
The phone is completly stock never been rooted or instal twrp.
Will factory reset will solve it, or we have to contact sprint for this matter.
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys am in a bit of a pickle my phones on the uk network EE. Am having a problem with my text messages sending, my phone will send around 10 messages fine but then after that they will be suck in limbo sending. They wont send until i either reset the phone or airplane mode on and off. This happens then i have full signal and with multipule numbers am trying to messsge. I have reset my apn settings and made sure they are correct as with ee, and i have done a reset on my phone and still the problem is there any ideas guys?
This happens to me too mate. It seems to be a purely EE issue. I've created a new apn with the attached settings and its only happened once since I've done that and its been about 6 weeks now.

Could also be a failing Sim card

Multiple users have already attempted the sim card replacement solution, it didnt work. Testing APN changes currently, changed SMS service centre too to test it, that didn't work either.
Tried a different rom, and a different factory rom too that didn't solve it either.
Sadly it's the EE update to 4.4.3. I've had exactly the same trouble and have reset phone twice so far, only solution is to roll back to 4.4.2 using a stock nandroid backup. Or go s-off and change cid to super
So whenever I receive a text message that has a picture, I'm unable to download it. It retries 5 times but fails. I'm on stock Kit Kat, and prefer to use the default messaging app. Highly annoying when my wife sends me a picture of my son doing something funny and I can't view it. Any suggestions?

No one else with that issue? Is there a setting I'm missing?

The only time I had this issue is when I had data turned off. Sorry, wish I could help more.
I've only had that problem when on WiFi. Just like the previous poster said when data is turned off.

I already posted a fix a couple days ago.

Problem is you cannot receive any mms on wifi but other than that, it works.

multi media wont work when using Wifi...disable wifi when sending multimedia and it should work.
If he's on "STOCK" kitkat then I assume he means factory LG stock. If so MMS does work when on WiFi. The MMS WiFi issue was for AOSP. If you're not on stock factory LG we will require a bit more info to attempt to assist you better.

If memory serves, I had this issue on "STOCK".

Okay, thanks to the marvel that is MultiRom, I was able to run some tests on stock Kitkat. If both data and wifi calling are off, MMS won't download.
Been playing around with Wi-Fi on and off. I think that nasty be it... only thing is that if the mms initiated while Wi-Fi was on, I can never retrieve it.

It worked for me with WiFi on. You have to have either data or WiFi calling on. If both are off, that's when I ran into trouble.
Found the fix thanks to wonderful posts in xda... the default apn settings use ipv6, which causes hiccups. Creating a new one with everything the same except using ipv4 fixes the issue.

I know I'm dredging up an old thread here, but I just started using an unlocked D851 with an AT&T sim card. I've put in the AT&T APN settings that are published by AT&T. I have wifi calling turned off (because it just gives an unsupported SIM error message) and I have this issue of not being able to send/receive MMS when I'm at home with wifi on.
I'm currently on stock, unrooted Marshmallow 6.0
I can't figure out if this is a T-mobile ROM issue or if it is an LG issue. Why can't the phone automatically use the mobile data for MMS when the wifi is connected?
Would the Fulmics ROM solve this issue?

Solved, somewhat...by using Textra SMS app and changing APN setting to have IPv4/IPv6 selected. It works now.
Has anyone been having delayed text messages being sent and received since the update? My wife has been having this issue with her M8. It's been intermittent but it happens almost every day to her.

I have also been having this issue. Sometimes a text message takes an hour or more for me to receive it or my recipient to receive it, other times I'll receive up to 4 of the same message in quick succession. It mostly happens when I have Wi-Fi calling enabled, as text messages don't seem to play well with it. For some reason, it completely disables the cellular radio instead of working in conjunction with it. Drives me crazy.
My wife's phone has wifi calling enabled but had cellular as the preferred connection method, so it would only switch to wifi calling if there was absolutely no signal. So I don't think in her case wifi calling was the issue. I completely turned it off just in case tho. I'm having her try another messaging app just to see (Google Messenger vs. HTC stock), but I don't think that's the problem.

Also remember that the only app that can send mms messages over wifi calling is the delivered one that comes with the phone. Any 3rd party apps (like handcent, chompsms, etc) will not be able to send mms messages over wifi calling.
Hi, I had the same problem plus mms would be sent nor downloaded. I was using the messenger google app though, switched back to stock message app and it resolved the issue

I called T-Mobile and they had me clear the cache from the Messaging app, and then reset the APNs back to default. So far so good... Everything started working.

I spoke too soon. She's still having the same problem. Reboots always fix it, but it's getting annoying. Guess next step is a factory reset. :what:

while related but unrelated, I had to do a factory reset after the lollipop update b/c my wifi was having issues that seemed random.

I don't think she's had any issues with wifi but i'm not really sure. I know yesterday I was trying to back up her phone preparing to wipe it and I saw the wifi would go out then come back on. I was about 10 feet from the router and everything else on wifi was holding steady except for the phone. Is that similar to the issues you were having?

My issue was that the wifi would connect and then drop then connect. Also some wifi AP, it would work great. To me it was just inconsistent, so I figured in for a penny in for a pound and just wiped the phone. That worked for me, but it if didn't I was planning on re-installing TWRP and some custom ROM as my bootloader was unlocked (but I was still s-on).

Any further solutions to this problem of intermittent delayed text messages? I now have 5.1.1, and use Hangouts. I also sometimes don't get calls either, it's like the cell antenna just turns off.
From what I remember a hard reset fixed the problem for my wife's phone.
